Before the appointment, we explained that they have a lot of anxiety about being in the room with someone of a different gender and would feel safer if I could be present in the room as a support person. We were immediately told that this was not allowed due to company policy. I understand that businesses may have policies regarding treatment rooms. My concern is not that the request was denied, but that there appeared to be no discussion of possible accommodations, alternatives, or support for a client experiencing significant anxiety and vulnerability during an intimate service. The result of being dismissed so abruptly was that my partner became so distressed that he left the appointment in tears and no longer feels comfortable returning. What should have been a positive first experience instead became a painful one. We both felt very judged and dismissed. EWC had always been a friendly & accomidating, safe space for me. I thought bringing my partner here would be a safe first experience. Im not sure that I'll be returning to EWC. (Especically not at this location) I hope European Wax Center will review how trauma-informed accommodations and accessibility requests are handled so that future clients do not have a similar experience.

I had a few questions prior to the appointment and Heather was great about throroughly and patiently addressing my concerns. My appointment was with Fawn and she was not only extremely talented (my brows have never looked better in my life) but she was also wonderful to chat with while also maintaining a very calm and relaxing experience.
