You're btter off, in my opinion, spending $20 at a carnvial and getting more time and thrill. $14.25 seated mountain coaster (Groupon special)- this one lasts a lil longer and is cheaper. If you haven't done one, it's worth experiencing. Rowdy Bear has three floors- Ground- entrance and payment Second floor- seated coaster and restrooms Third floor- Gliding coaster Gliding Coaster- Must be minimum 80lbs and not more than 280. Two side by side tracks, but single rail for your ride. Helmets and harnesses are worn for the ride. If no line, it's quick and easy. Parking is right next to the building. Short ride, but you pay for two rides when you show up, and it's not really anymore than anywhere else. The whole ride is like 4 minutes long between going up and coming back down. It's the fastest ride both by time elapsed being short, and actual speed, of any of the mountain coasters, afaik. Staff was friendly and helpful! You do get free digital pictures with your ride, unlike anywhere else. which is a cool perk. We visited Rowdy Bear the weekend before Halloween. 3 kids and 2 adults. We had the best time while there. We never laughed so much. The staff were amazing and friendly at every stop we made. My 13-year-old son had a wonderful time riding the mountain coaster and glider. We went on the coaster twice and the glider once, he enjoyed the coaster more. The views are beautiful, the staff was great, professional, and they even let us walk up with our dogo during slow hours. It was a pleasure! They offer pictures for you to purchase after your ride, beverages and some apparel. Also it's great if you come early because you can come back for discounted rides later in the evening and enjoy the lights and visit their other location as well. Check Groupon or a coupon book for discounts before you go. After a $3 off coupon, it was $29 for 2 adults. We went on Saturday at noon and there was no wait for a coaster. The ride was fun, but I felt like it was a little short. They send you a video of your ride for free, but my coaster wasn't equipped with a camera. At the end, they offer you for $5 another ride to use within 3 days. That may be worth it if you're in town for several days. Do a night and day ride. read more

My 6 year old loved the coaster! He did the package of 3 with laser tag for $40 something dollar's. The ride was the perfect speed for him and took maybe less than hour. Loved how they had lots of parking in the front. A few other activities that they offered and very socially distant. read more

We had great fun here. We bought the one our wristbands to have unlimited ride within an hour. That's the best deal. We went early around 10:30. Very few people were there, no waiting time. We had 7 rides for each of us for the wristbands. The kids enjoyed so much fun. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely recommend Rowdy Bear Mountain. The coaster is way better than the runner rail in Anakeesta. No need to wait long time if you go there before noon. And the price is reasonable. We tried the glider as well. 3 star average, here's the breakdown: Coaster -- 4 stars Glider -- 3.5 stars, except for my husband -- 2 stars (more below) COVID precautions -- zero stars The coaster is fun, and the views are rather panoramic. Go full speed, it's the best! It's not as high or long as alpine coasters I've ridden in the Rockies, but our teens and us had a giggle. The glider is really fun and a different kind of thing. If you are a dude, and you are bigger than, say, 200 lbs, be warned: It's a rough ride for you. My husband was jerked all around, and he said it kind of made him nauseous. They had told him it would be that way for him. Absolutely ZERO practice of any kind of Covid safety. I didn't see a single employee in a mask, inside or outside. Nobody -- staff or guests -- does any kind of distancing, and they do not sanitize the coaster cars or glider handles. Also, no hand sanitizer dispensers available near those rides. I put my family at risk by standing in line inside their building, and I'm not happy about that at all. read more

I had an amazing time! We stumbled across this park through a flyer and coupon so we decided to pull right in. At first approach the parking lot was empty and it looked cheesy. My friends wanted to leave but I said we haven't even went inside lol. Upon entrance we were immediately greeted with a warm smile and friendly hello. The rep was thorough and nice. We ordered tickets and took the elevator to the second floor. The carts were fun as we all lined up to race. The only downfall I noticed was that they didn't state a disclaimer that if you're too close to a cart it'll brake for you. I mean duh I knew that because they had signage of no bumping carts. But I'm staying this because had I known I wouldn't have went behind someone who went slow the entire time (because she's afraid of heights) and made the ride not as enjoyable. I eventually went first the second go round and I went full speed!! It was fun and they also snap pictures of you which is cool and memorable. I wish there were more rides but I have a Six Flags in my backyard so it was fun for a getaway. Oh and my friends did the zip line and said it was dope!!! If this was the first coaster I went one I would be HIGHLY disappointed and probably not pay for another. Paid for the 3 rides and only used two. Sure the hang gliding one looks cool but trust me it isn't. The rides were short, slow and just not fun. They didn't sanitize the carts like others we went to. I stopped in at Rowdy Bear while wondering around Gatlinburg, & it was okay - wasn't impressed. I just felt that the Coaster wasn't worth the $18 bucks I paid to get in. For another $40 bucks you can get into Dollywood & ride all the rides you like. The Rowdy Bear Coaster wasn't terribly thrilling, nor was it terribly scenic, further, it was incredibly brief. With regards to COVID-19, they weren't taking any precautions whatsoever. I did not FEEL safe. None of the employees were wearing masks. Grab a Groupon for this place, because $16 is very expensive for the short ride down the mountain. But, it is very fun. You are taken to the top while you are strapped in to your "coaster". Once at the top, you push the handles forward to go. It goes very fast. I used my brakes a few times on the way down. But the ride down goes by quick. I would get the Groupon again, but no way would I pay $16 for one ride. Once you ride, they let you come back within 3 days, and ride for $8 per person, if you have your receipt. read more

I enjoy the alpine coasters, and Rowdy Bear is a great one, but I just think they too expensive! Even with a Groupon, 3 rides cost $20. Each ride takes less than 5 minutes, including the "ride up". The free fall is 1-2 minutes. read more

OMG I could go broke at this place. We came here thinking we were going to take 1 ride down the mountain, but we need us taking many trips down the mountain. This is one of the newer attractions in the area and they did it right. The only complaint is that I wish it was longer, then again it could be more than a mile long and that wouldn't be enough. We were driving through Gatlinburg on our way to Asheville and had planned ahead to stop at Rowdy Bear for a fun little novelty break. Definitely get the groupon! You have to purchase it at least 24 hours in advance but it's worth it. My husband and I rode together for $16 and if you can both fit in the car that's what I recommend. It was fun riding together and listening to the other giggle at how silly and fun it is. I was really bummed the glider isn't operational yet, that looks like it will be fun! The reason for 3 stars? All of these "mountain coasters" are marketed with the idea that you'll be coasting down the Smoky Mountains and while you technically are, you kinda aren't. This particular coaster isn't that far off the road and the silver metal track is kind of distracting. Another distraction for us were the construction crew that were actively building the Glider. I guess it has to get built somehow but just kinda weird to be coasting around people at work. Again, save some money and get the groupon. The entire ride lasts only a few minutes and much of that is the climb to the top. Also totally recommend going at an off time. We were there around 11 am on a Friday and had no line whatsoever. Is it silly and fun? Yes. Kids will love it and kids (at heart) will, too. read more
