HALLOWEEN 2025. We went on the coaster at night time. It was fun and scary!! Corn maze to enter.

Magical First Mountain Coaster Ride - At Night! We had never been on a mountain coaster before, so we weren't sure what to expect--but wow, what a ride! We chose to experience the Moonshine Mountain Coaster at night, and it was such a great decision. The track is beautifully lit with colorful lights that made the whole ride feel like a glowing adventure through the mountains. Being able to control your own speed is a big plus--perfect for nervous newbies like us, but still thrilling if you want to go fast. The staff was super friendly, everything felt very safe, and the carts were comfortable and easy to operate. If you're visiting Gatlinburg, don't miss this! And definitely go at night for the best experience.

The Rundown: a mountain coaster with an entirely downward experience that gives you high speeds but a brief overall journey. The Review: Of course one has to experience a mountain coaster when in the area! We decided on Moonshine as they offered coupons (bringing price to ~$16/person). If you are military, they offer you added discounts which is great! You'll immediately be impressed at how high and large the coaster appears - but know that it is pretty much only what you can see. Other coasters may have some "side" journeys, with multiple lift hills. This location has one single large lift. Also they unfortunately charge you extra if not paying in cash so that was a disappointment. When stepping in you will realize these carts are more on the high tech side. You'll find cameras to capture your journey which offers you a unique keepsake! The incline was impressive - there were some creepy dolls stuck to trees even though it was almost Thanksgiving. so I believe they decorate and do a Halloween experience. Something to keep an eye out for. The ride itself once the lift is complete is definitely on the shorter side. It's one downhill experience, so overall this track runs on the shorter side (maybe 5 min max, ~3-4 is probably lift hill). I was hoping for some extra track beyond what we could see. Overall it was an okay experience, but for the price I would probably check around as I know others that are longer with additional theming exist. That said, being strictly among the trees was quite thrilling in it's own way which you may not find elsewhere.

There wasn't much a view. The ride lasted less than 5mins. Probably would not have wasted the money. Nice thing though is they allow double seaters with 2 adults.

What. A. Blast! Especially at night. It's a well lit track, and you're in control. We really enjoyed the ride. It's too short, though. Wanted it to go on. Try it. You'll like it!!!

Moonshine Mtn Coaster was an awesome ride. We went after dark and the lights around the track were amazing. The staff was helpful and put any fear at ease, they answered all your questions and gave you a quick but confident crash course on operating the car. Moonshine Mtn coaster is a shorter ride than others in the area, but in my personal opinion- the nighttime experience and the speed makes up for it! *if you a Veteran or Military make sure you ask for the discount on your 2nd or more rides as they are discounted after your first one!!

This was a good day for me. I wasn't able to ride anything at Dollywood and this mountain coaster is a multi track. Weight limit is 375 which was great because I got to ride. It's maybe $13 per person to ride. You get into the coaster, put on a seat belt and you have levers on left and right side. You push them forward to move forward and pull back to slow down and or stop completely. They have a camera on the left side in the front that videos you the entire time. It has a memory card in the slot of the car that records your views the entire time. They take you up a very steep hill and then let you go. At first it's nothing to be scared about and can go full speeds, which speeds I think are up to 45 mph, which is interesting coming off a mountain in a single car outside v/s in a vehicle. You have some loops that make you think twice about full speed ahead but it was fun and I would do it again, since it's one of the only ones that I can go on. They provide you an opportunity to see your video at the end. You can purchase the video for 14.95 in which I did for both me and my son. The whole experience cost me nearly $60 but worth it. You can come back the same day if you keep your ticket and ride again for $8. Not a bad deal when you think about it. We had not wait when we arrived and just got on right away.

This was a lot of fun but definitely a money trap Not only do you pay for the ride but then you have the opportunity to buy a video of your ride and a picture. If you end up buying both, it's a minimum $42 (including the ticket) They do give a discount if you ride it again but no discount on the videos/picture. Even though it's a coaster, there are no drops like roller coasters at amusement parks so even people who don't like typical roller coasters can enjoy the ride. You can also choose to go fast (around 29 MPH) or you can go slower (around 15 MPH) or in between. You have the ability to slow down the car or go full speed which is nice. Overall super fun- everyone enjoyed it and the kids would have ridden over and over if they had a choice. Definitely worth checking out at least once.

A warning to folks who get vertigo, the bridge is high and in the middle, it's glass bottomed. Very cool for those who don't have a fear of heights, but I did see a couple people struggling once they got to the glass bottom portion. I enjoyed every step. Once at the top, we grabbed a couple of beers and sat in Adirondacks overlooking the valley below. We could have hung out taking in the views all afternoon (and pretty much did). We loved our experience here. It was early spring so it wasn't overly busy but the weather was pitch perfect (80s with a breeze and low humidity--yes, please). Get to it!

I would recommend that you find a groupon/deal to get it at a cheaper rate rather than the usual $50/ticket they offer it for because I genuinely do not think it is worth the $50. I would definitely NOT recommend the fun pass for adults, but would for children (at the discounted price). Our second day on the mountain, we went snowboarding and that was a very fun time for my group and I. Ober has snow machines, so it is not real snow and instead is icy, artificial snow. I can imagine during the colder season, it may be softer and covered much more. I went in early January for reference. The employees are very nice with helping you strap in boots and understanding how to strap into board as well. I decided to do a lesson, which I would recommend for anyone who has not snowboarded before. Although I enjoyed my time, I do agree that it is fairly pricy, considering the size of the mountain compared to other resorts I have seen. I understand the weather determines which lifts are avaliable but the "snow" was ice, no where near snow texture. I think a day of snowboarding would cost roughly $150+ here for day pass and gear rental. My downsides for Ober are the price, the fun pass, and the snow.

My friend and I had some time to kill before the rest of our group arrived, so we decided to book a ghost tour at 8:30 PM. Booking was pretty easy and quick via a third party site - the site did mention that we would be notified if the tour was cancelled due to not enough seats being booked. We booked the tickets around 4 PM that day, but didn't receive any notification that the tour had been canceled, so we headed towards the meet up spot around 8:00 PM. The instructions said to meet by 8:15 PM at the Dolly Parton statue near the courthouse to avoid any issues with traffic/parking. My friend and I arrived at 8:10 PM but no one else was around aside from a couple of tourists taking pictures of the statue. 8:15 PM rolled around and the tour guide was nowhere in sight.. We still did not receive any communication about the tour being canceled (we even received a couple of text messages reminding us of the upcoming tour time) so we decided to wait until 8:30 PM to see if maybe the tour guide was running a little late. 8:30 PM rolls around and the tour guide never arrived. We tried calling the phone number on their website but the number is disconnected. Their email address also does not work and was undelivered, so there's no way to contact this company. With plenty of children around me clearly enjoy enjoying every second while in this aquarium, it's also clear that the adults and parents had something they could enjoy as well! The amount of species were really impressive! I certainly walked away learning a lot about the limitless life in our oceans- from favorite species like clown fish to unique/ "not so frequently seen" species like cool sea dragons that resemble floating kelp. We were able to see the entirety of the aquarium in about two hours, and the layout of the aquarium is great with a clear path to make it all the way through. Honorable mention to the awesome saw sharks. I actually don't know if that's their actual name, but there're nose kind of resembles a saw and they are so cool during the automated walkway through the tunnel of sharks and fish. It was so bizarre to just look up and see huge sharks right above me!! I was also really impressed with the amount of space these animals have. I know that zoos and aquariums can get a bad rep, but these animals really do seem very taken care of and happy in a simulated natural environment. I like how they included the water treatment room as a part that people can see because obviously these animals require very strict water treatment plans in order to keep them thriving. The penguin station was also one of our favorites!!! It was so cool to be able to crawl through a tube "into" their enclosure in a dome like clear glass and be surrounded by penguins!!! You can read the names on their flipper bands to tell them apart, and you can really get up close to see the differences in their beaks or features. I thought that was so cool. I liked the amount of cool snacks and beverages available too! I got a frozen peach lemonade that was so yummy. We were here during off peak time, but it was still very busy. We hopped onto a slow-moving convey like a lazy river at a Vegas hotel, for people who don't want to walk. Honestly, I wish the entire building worked this way. Zero chaos. Zero pushing. Just vibes and sharks gliding over your head like "Come on in the waters fine" The stingrays were another highlight--majestic, chill, and many different sizes. Crowds aside,(but not really) those two moments made the visit worth it. If you go, bring patience, comfortable shoes, and maybe a bullhorn to get people's attention.
