Many other chefs were either too busy or didn't cater to small groups. Chef D and his mom, Evelyn, were so sweet. They offered a range of private chef/catering services that made it flexible for my group and our budget. We went with a Dinner Experience which consist of a choice of salad, entree, 2 sides, and dessert, all served family style. We also picked 2 appetizers that were delectable. For the entree, we went with Sous vide steak which was perfectly cooked. Sides were the Mac and cheese (must try!) and grandma's greens (also a must). Dessert we went with cannolis which was delicious but a little too sweet for my taste. Chef D noticed that one of us was lactose intolerant so he made a separate side just for my employee. That was super thoughtful. We had a lot of food leftover so some of us got to enjoy the meal more than once. 10/10 recommend D'jour for your private dinner.

The process was super simple. I found her on yelp. She hit me back probably w/in 15-20 minutes. I wanted a nice meal made for my wedding anniversary. Year 11 married for Hubby and I. I knew I wanted steak and potatoes. She came up w/the chimmichurri (which I knew I loved), zuppa tuscana and infused strawberry shortcake. But getting food to the hotel would have been a challenge...either cook for ourselves or cater from a chain. Our host suggested we use an events chef and connected us to Becca Schafer and her staff. This proved to be one of the best parts of the meeting. The food was very fresh. She used local fresh ingredients whenever possible. She was sensitive to the variety of dietary needs for our staff: from vegetarian, to vegan, and beyond. They made from-scratch hors d'oeuvres served to us out on the patio. They also accommodated our schedule for dinner, flexing the time the meal was finished to accommodate our evening activities. The staff thoroughly cleaned the kitchen afterwards. We had to start an email list of our attendees who wanted chef Becca's recipes, which she graciously agreed to supply to anyone who wants them. Our staff meeting planner found the prices to be quite reasonable for sit-down meal costs. Lastly, you may be able to find other great chefs, but it's not always easy to find ones that were so enjoyable. Our staff had so much fun with them in the house, they insisted that Becca and her crew join us for a glass of wine on the patio. They joined in like old friends in our conversation, shared some fun stories, and were very genuine in their interactions with us. If you need someone to plan your event in the greater Austin area or beyond, Becca Events is a "must" to put on your list.
