The website was sluggish and not running smoothly and it kept resetting the dates I'd chosen. When the payment finally processed, I noticed it had selected the wrong dates. As soon as I noticed, I tried calling the theater. Over the course of the next few days I called repeatedly, and no one ever answered. I also went online and sent them an email explaining the situation. We don't live in Show Low and rarely go that way, but that Friday my husband drove up and went in to the theater. They told him their policy for refunds is to be contacted within 24 hours or no money back. He explained that we tried contacting them within the timeframe required and that no one answered the phones or emails, but they were inflexible and unwilling to help. They said the owner was at the other theater in Lakeside, so my husband drove up there to talk to him. When he got there, the owner wasn't there and the employees at both locations told him it wouldn't matter even if my husband did speak to the owner because he wouldn't be willing to help us. This was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. There was absolutely no customer service, no help in spite of our legitimate effort to follow their (frankly ridiculous) 24 hour policy, and the unfriendly attitudes and behavior of the so-called managers at each location was awful. I am posting this review now (May) as I finally got the results back from my bank from the dispute I filed through them. Don't expect WME Theatres to help you out if something goes wrong.

There are signs and indications all over that this is establishment is not going to do any upkeep at all. They do not care about providing a clean environment for their paying customers. One of the most disturbing signs is that the women's restroom door is ajar. Anyone using the wheelchair/handicap accessible stall in the women's room will be in full view of anyone in the foyer. This is unacceptable! If a handicapped person happens to need assistance in the restroom wherein the bathroom stall door cannot be closed there will be no privacy for that individual! I don't know why so many Yelpers refer to this business as a "scam." The name of the business is METEOR CRATER and that is what you get to see. What exactly were you expecting? Make sure you take the free tour. If you don't take the tour, I just don't know what to say. Inside the main building, there is a decent area with exhibits you can peruse and check out the history of other meteors that hit the earth. Some of the other meteors left craters far, far bigger than this one. Our tour was about an hour long or so--I cannot remember how long exactly--but you get to walk along the rim and hear interesting stories about all the mining efforts inside the crater and the loonies who have fallen in and so on. Even a plane crashed inside this thing. Again, make sure you take the tour. We didn't have time to watch the free movie, although I wish I had done so. There is also a separate area of young kids. There are several free looking devices (you know, those stationary binocular type things) outside the main structure where you can look into the crater. Those are fun to use. Yes, this is expensive but this is also a roadside attraction that is worth the detour. Plan on spending about two hours here. They also have a little cafe with food and booze (including espresso martinis, for goodness sake), if you really want or need to get liquored up in the middle of nowhere, I guess.

At $29 per person, it felt very steep for the overall experience. For what's offered, something in the $12-$15 range would feel much more reasonable. I'm glad we saw it, for us it was one of those "check it off the list" places, but not something I would personally return to or go out of my way to recommend at the current price.
