I was with this clinic since 2018 and it was ALWAYS a problem. Now that I am at a different place, I cannot believe I ever stayed with this place. It is the absolute worst. Forget about the fact that it is a total dump and most of the time there is no air-conditioning, they almost NEVER answer the phone. God forbid you need a prescription. I am a diabetic and they never check my blood. Half the time they don't even check my blood pressure. Even worse, when they moved locations from the Laurel Canyon Blvd to the Sherman Way location, THEY LOST MY ENTIRE MEDICAL FILE. That file was like 3 inches thick and it was JUST GONE. I am uncertain how Dr. Iraj Shamsa is still practicing if my experience is similar to others (by the reviews it seems to be). This is, undoubtedly, the worst physician office I have ever encountered in my personal experience as the timeline of events below indicate: Jul/Aug 2024 - On or about the months of July and August I spent several weeks continually calling this office in order to receive treatment. (Please see their yelp reviews for additional corroboration to this). - When finally receiving an appointment I was prescribed several different diagnostics and a follow up date. On the follow up date I was prescribed a single time medication including but not limited to blood pressure medication for severe hypertension, cholesterol, and others however no actual treatment barring the one time prescription. Sep/Oct/Nov 2024 - Over the course of -months- For additional evidentiary support; the pharmacy had also called requesting this to be refilled and were summarily ignored (in addition to the physician filling out a request for MRI incorrectly, which was denied). Accordingly, I filed a grievance and was in receipt of a response that I was seen twice and "demanded" an MRI (note this was the physician recommendation). Please choose any doctor office but this one if you care about your health; do not be put into jeopardy by having something like blood pressure medication (severe), cholesterol and others prescribed once; and then office staff failing to return each and every call. With the utmost recalcitrance; I will be seeking legal recourse in tort; as it seems the owner will ignore the practices otherwise. Alternatively if someone is already in process of certifying a class action; I will join. I will also be seeking recourse with the medical board directly despite there not being a monetary remedy as practices operating such as this, are in my opinion, a substantial detriment to the public. read more

As a teenager who has visited this place my whole life, it's not been the worst place but not the best 4 or 5-star experience you can get. If you have an appointment at 9:00 am, expect to be there until 11:00 am. Other than them wasting your time making you wait in a small waiting room, it's decent. I have had a problem recently with one of the recent new (maybe permanent?) pediatricians who has made my experience in getting a check-up by questioning her credentials. For starters, she was impolite when I kindly told her I didn't want to wear a patient gown and she got annoyed. Even as a teenager, I know a patient has the right to refuse to change in a gown, and in no circumstance should a doctor pressure a patient to do something they don't want to do. In addition, she did a referral for me to do an MRI even though my previous history has been archived in that medical place where the results came as nothing was seen to be abnormal. The neurologist who examined my results told me I had nothing wrong whatsoever. In addition, if you want to be cleared for a sport, apparently you can't until you do a blood test only because of a family history of a grandparent having health complications. No doctor in previous years has made me do this and it has honestly been a nightmare for me since I can't do the sport until I get this blood test done. I understand the concern for the doctor, but she NEVER told me I wasn't cleared until embarrassedly I turned my paperwork to the nurse who clears people for sports, and she told me, I wasn't cleared since the doctor checked the "needs further evaluation." box. In the future, I will pursue the medical field and this experience taught me what you shouldn't do as a doctor. read more

Does not matter what time of the day, they don't answer. I finally get a hold of them after calling another 20 times in a row. The receptionist is rude and tells me that the doctor wants to follow up in a year , I tell her that she sent an authorization to get my lungs checked out, how are you going to tell me to come back in a year and she hung up on me and stoped answering. These guys don't care about people. I have called repeatedly asking for a refill on a medication for Dr. Antonio's office. I initially requested it 2 weeks ago from my pharmacy and they sent MULTIPLE faxes requesting a refill. No response. They called her office multiple times and left messages. No response. I called her myself multiple times and left numerous voicemails. Nothing. Two weeks go by and I'm literally rationing my medication. They finally get back to me and say that I haven't been there in 6 months and I was need in a checkup. I then said how come you guys haven't returned any calls and also stated how unprofessional it is to not respond within the few weeks I had been requesting meds. Could've been taken care of with an appointment in the meantime. The lady cut me off putting me on an endless hold. No response calling again multiple times. This is the most horrifying Dr. Office. The front office staff never answers the phone. I can call 15 times in one day & not one person answers the phone it goes to voice mail. When you have a breast biopsy elsewhere & you are told to call your doctor for the results forget it!!!! They do not answer the phone. I have to drive there to see the doctor who is only there Thursdays & I was told you can not see him today. They are withholding important medical results from patients. They threatened to call the police on me for demanding they give me my results. Dr. Shamsa is only good for prescriptions they have no interest in you as a patient. When Costco contacts them by Fax to refill the staff never checks the fax machine after a week & a half of waiting for refills I have to drive to the office and ask them to check the fax machine!!! I was very disappointed in both of my visits here. My boys ages 4 and 3 needed routine physicals and each time we had to wait over an hour to be called back, and then another hour to see the doctor in the room. They weren't even that busy. My 4-year-old has never liked doctors and had a tantrum in the waiting room, and the front office looked annoyed. On our second visit I had to wait 25 minutes just to receive new patient paperwork and then was rushed to finish it. The only reason I went to this office was to see a specific doctor recommended by a friend but she wasn't in the office at either appointment. I'm sad to have wasted my time here. I accompanied my grandfather to his appointment, and we will be changing doctors IMMEDIATELY. The office was filthy, the doctor didn't know 2 of the medications he has my grandfather on, he came into the appointment with his mask BELOW his nose, the staff didn't have examination gloves, and there wasn't an ounce of hand sanitizer in the entire facility. He didn't ask any questions, and wanted to know why were were there...as if we were inconveniencing him for doing his "job". I should have been worried when I pulled up and noticed that his office is next to the "Corn and Crab" and a nail salon. This place is a joke! I need to come here for a referral to an OB (glad this won't be where I'll be receiving my prenatal care). They told me that since I was transferring my Dr at the end of my pregnancy that most likely no other OB would accept me as a new patient because I'm high risk being that im almost due? ‍ So eventhough my refferel might be rejected I still needed an unnecessary 2 minute exam. They clearly just wanted to be paid because if I can't be referred why did I need to waste time getting an exam? The Dr is 100 years old with a dirty white medical jacket. He needs to retire ASAP. He didn't even know I was pregant but had the forms right in his face. Then he either pretended he didn't know I may be rejected for an authorization to an OB or he was legit confused because he's SUPER old! They made sure they charged for a visit that may or may not have been pointless in the first place! The office Doesn't like very clean. They clearly don't sanitize regularly. The nurses and staff look unprofessional and look like anybody just off the streets. One of the nurses looked like she needed a bath. AVOID THIS MEDICAL PRACTICE! I made an appointment to get a referral for a specialist. I waited over an hour past my appointment time in the waiting room. When I went in the floors and walls were dirty and there were used cotton swabs on the floor. None of the exam rooms had sinks for the doctor to wash his hands. I was told I would receive a referral in 2-3 weeks and the staff would call me. Five weeks later I left a message. Six weeks later my wife left a message. Seven weeks later my wife left two messages. Eight weeks later I got someone on the phone and waited 30 minutes on hold only to be told that they don't give referrals- I would have to speak to my insurance company. I called my insurance company and the insurance company said the doctor's office was wrong. The insurance company tried calling the doctor's office and couldn't even get them on the phone. First, they never pick up their phone and they send you to voicemail. If you try to leave a voicemail, you can't because it's full. They are unorganized and don't communicate effectively. When by a miracle you do get an appointment, the wait time is long. I had to wait close to an hour. The doctors are hardly ever at the office, which in my opinion doesn't make sense because this is supposed to be a doctors office. Until you bring up the topic of you speaking to the insurance company, they gain a little bit of motivation to do their job. I had to switch my primary for this reason. I initially chose this facility because it was one of the few that offered a female doctor who took my insurance, but i should have done my research before making that decision. My first and only appointment here was to get stitches removed from my ankle, and this doctor visit was honestly more traumatizing than getting the stitches at the hospital 11 days prior. First of all, the staff was incredibly unfriendly and the office was disgusting, i felt like i was walking into an old, abandoned building. Secondly, i did not see the doctor i had chosen online and made the appointment to see, instead a male doctor came in who barely spoke the same language as me. (i have nothing against language barriers, but when it comes to my health i need to know exactly what is going on.) This man did NOT wear gloves when dealing with my still healing wound, LITERALLY COUGHED ON MY ANKLE BEFORE REMOVING THE STITCHES, and applied a bandage that didn't even stay on my skin for more than 5 minutes and gave me no further instructions on how to deal with the wound. Lastly, after he left the room, a bitchy nurse came in, handed me my papers without saying a word, and left. I was unsure of what to do so i grabbed my things and bolted. As i was on my way to let the girl at the front desk know what happened, i saw there was no one sitting at reception and no one to be found. Their message machine basically said we are out from 1 to 2 and here until 5:30. The 3 times I called, were all within the time they were there. It is Friday 6:22 pm and not even a hint of a call. I tried to make an appointment as they do not take walk-ins, which is actually ridiculous in the case of an emergency as was the case when I called. First, they told me the earliest appointment was October 14th, but after I complained and was transferred to a superior, suddenly it became October 19th because "someone had just taken the appointment on the 14th" in the matter of 30 seconds...if it sounds like BS, it probably is. Horrible customer services skills as when I told them the reason I never visit their doctors is because the one and only time I've visited (with an appointment mind you), I still waited 45 minutes in a room for a doctor to simply order the MA to give me a shot while he decided to sit in his office and pick his nose (not literally for those unable to understand sarcasm).
