I think I've found my newest favorite restaurant in Lexington! Old Bourbon Country (OBC) Kitchen,…read moreis a showstopper! This place is a must for anyone local if you haven't been, and if you're not local, it's seriously worth the trip! There are so many great things I can say about OBC, the service is phenomenal; professional, amazing recommendations, and they go out of their way to give you an unforgettable experience! Their bourbon selection is fantastic; they're guaranteed to have everything you'd want and even some things you haven't tried or been able to find anywhere else. The food is on another level! Starting with with bacon in the glass for the table is a must! This gives you a taste of the quality to come and the peanut butter accompaniment that comes with it works so well! The depth of flavor in the Cola-Braised Short Rib Tacos is unreal & even their rolls are amazing! The Ribeye is cooked to your exact liking; is a very high quality cut, and has a delicious seasoning which is the differentiator for me that makes this one of my favorite steaks I've had in a very long time! I could go on & on, but you need to experience it for yourself!

The shear number of bottles on the bar will keep your eyes moving about and hard to focus on anything else. For food, I had the wagyu meatballs and couscous salad. Both were well sized and utterly delicious. I'll be back here again for sure

Yummy sushi, but also, yummy pub food? A win for me…read more I've enjoyed a nice beer at their small bar that feels like a whole in the wall, but recently I ordered out sushi and a cheesesteak - and where else could I get such a combo, but Drafthouse? The sushi was fresh and stacked--an excellent serving. I particularly liked my Spicy Storm: tempura salmon, jalapeno, cucumber with spicy crab and avocado, eel sauce, and wasabi sauce on top. Nice kick, cooled off by the crab and avocado. Great crunch, as well! The sleeper win was the cheesesteak. I went with chicken, which I rarely do. At first bite, I was a little confused, because the flavor isn't the Philly style I'm used to. I realized there were bits of bacon (says that on the menu-whoops), but it didn't over power the flavor, it add almost a sweet smokiness. And their beer cheese? SO GOOD.

We went for Burger Week and got the crab rangoon burger and the sushi Burger and man oh man in my glad that we picked this place as our only Burger Week restaurant. The sushi Burger was amazing as the "bun" was made out of sticky rice which had been fried and used as the bun. Inside was a nice avocado California roll type filling with some creamy crab added in. I do not know what it was called but I would 100% love to be able to get it again. The crab rangoon Burger was also amazing and I cannot tell you which one I liked better. Apparently people come here for their crab rangoons! The Ambiance is one of a dive bar but not as messy as you would think a dive bar would be I am not sure how to classify this bar/restaurant. But if the Bambi is a dive bar then I guess this place is too. Service was great including the cook who also took turns being a server. He definitely put care into his work! The Baristas were busy and did a good job.

I had no idea the veggie burger was the one featured on the show, so as a vegetarian, I was especially excited to try it. I swapped the veggie patty onto the Mushroom & Swiss burger, and it was hands down the best veggie burger I've had in the decade I've been vegetarian. Our group all ordered different burgers, along with the fries and Brussels sprouts, and every single plate was a hit. They have super unique sauces to try as well, I am not a huge pickle fan but the dill pickle hot sauce was my personal favorite. I also recommend grabbing a brown butter toffee cookie on your way out. The restaurant has a fun, laid-back atmosphere with great music, colorful murals, a lively bar area, and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives playing on the TVs, which was a nice touch. It's also located in a cute part of downtown Louisville that's worth exploring. The service matched the food. Everyone was welcoming, happy to answer our questions, and made sure we had everything we needed. This will definitely be on my list for a return visit the next time I'm in Louisville.
