We rented a pontoon boat 7/20/26 and paid for them to deliver the boat to our lake house that we rented. I was told by Kennedy that the boat would be dropped off 9am-8pm.( time is in the signed contract) We tried to contact the marina multiple times because the boat wasn't dropped off. No answer. There were 12 of us waiting for the boat to arrive at our dock 8 adults, 4 kids(1yr, 3yr, 6yr, 8yr) At 10 am still no boat so a few of us drove down to the marina(wasting boat time and gas $$) to see what the issue was. The very rude manager(Autumn) stated she did not know until that morning that she had to deliver a pontoon to us. (THIS IS NOT MY PROBLEM) I booked this rental AND PAID FOR IT ALONG WITH THE DELIVERY CHARGE 7/6/26($538.06 FOR 1 DAY) and had a reservation number. Autumn also claimed she answered our phone calls but couldn't hear us. I could not believe she is arguing with a customer. The boat finally arrived at 10:45am and was told they were late because they had to use our rental pontoon and gas to pick up another boat which was past our lake rental house. The boat had a 1/2 tank of gas which I have a picture of. I was also told the gas gauge was not accurate. Really?????Autumn told me the gauge was full when they left the marina.(Maybe it was but they used the gas to pick up another boat which was past our house.) Autumn didn't seem to understand this or even care. I was billed $48 for gas when they picked up the boat. We put $80(have the receipt) in gas in the boat but since the gas gauge wasn't working they could rip me off. Please everyone out there reading this RENT FROM ANOTHER MARINA!!! THIS BUSINESS ONLY CARES ABOUT MAKING MONEY OFF PEOPLE!!! It seems this same situation happened 6/29/24 which I just read in a review. You would think this operation would have learned from this 2 years ago but they really do not want to keep their customers happy. Terrible business!!!!Very unorganized if they didn't know they had to deliver a boat until the morning when the rude manager came in.

We called 2 months out to confirm they were still operating during Covid. They said they were fully operational. When we arrived, after driving 6 hrs, they had lost our reservation and said they did not have boats for us. They finally gave us one run down speed boat - only 2 years old and trashed inside and most gauges did not work- and one pontoon which we had to swap out for a different pontoon -also had multiple gauges not working- as we went to leave since they decided they wanted to work on that one. They gave us a discounted rate ONLY because we negotiated. They had no intent to make up for their loss of our reservation and giving us 2 poor boats. Two days into our trip, the speed boat broke down and was no longer useable. After they hauled the speed boat away, we went to the marina to pick up a Tritoon - the telescoping tow tower would not extend to the tow position. Had we not come to pick it up ourselves, we would have missed a complete other day boating. When we arrived to pick up the Tritoon, they still needed to clean it out, inspect it, and gas it up. When we returned the boats at the end of our trip, we attempted to renegotiate the price since the price we had agreed upon was for 1 speed boat for 4 days and 1 pontoon for 4 days, but we only had the speed boat for 2 days since it broke down. The manager, Tobi, finally said by her power she could give us $100 off and would talk to the owners the following week to see about a refund on top of the $100. We called Tobi back the following week as she instructed; she preceding to not remember our case and that the owners denied even giving us the $100 refund.

There is restrooms and plenty of parking with picnic tables and grills. Also many hiking trails lead off from this parking lot. There is a boardwalk down by the water and areas where you can enter the water for swimming. I can't wait to go back here in the summer time. We definitely have to try this spot out. This is an infrequently visited location, mostly savored by the locals. Visitors the Big South Fork NRA are too busy with white water rafting or horseback riding to spend any time enjoying something as simple as this hidden gem. Most visitors will pass this on their way to the Bandy Creek Campground, a popular place throughout the year. But if you're looking for something different, something quiet, something easy, this is your place. IF YOU WANT TO GO, here are some tips to make the best of your trip: When to Go: Go in the middle of the day, about two hours after sunset and two hours before sunset. This area sits in a ravine, so the area will be in shadow early and late, which can make it a bit chilly in Spring and Fall. How to Get There: Take Highway 297 (Leatherwood Ford Road) from Oneida toward the Bandy Creek Visitor Center. Make a left turn about five miles from Oneida, continuing along Highway 297. The road will make a few sharp turns, descending a few hundred feet, and you will see a long, straight bridge ahead. The Leatherwood Ford entrance is near the bridge. What to Do: Enjoy a walk along the riverside trail, fishing on the old bridge, get your feet wet, or you could also take a vigorous hike along the Angel Falls Trail. How Much Does it Cost: Free! Best Tip for Best Experience: Best time to visit Leatherwood Ford is late in the afternoon, about three hours before sunset. When people are congregated on one side of the bridge it causes the traffic on one side or the other to have to wait to cross as you can only use one lane as to avoid possibly hitting someone standing there.
