A very clean and happy mocha!! Thanks Adrienne!!
    Katrina U.

Best place to get pets groomed. Period. Our dog mocha is now 10 years old and seems to have a new medical problem come up every couple of months, which means a lot of groomers refuse to groom her (especially petsmart). Mocha recently developed an allergy to tree sap in our yard which made her poor paws look like raw meat... our vets (south Burnaby veterinary hospital) recommended Royal City Paw Centre because their in house groomer is on maternity leave. It's summer and she was way over due for a hair cut so it was nice to find a salon that can take care of aging pets with some health problems. When we arrived at 10am Adrienne (our professional groomer) greeted us at the door and got to know mocha a bit first to make her comfortable, then slowly took over the leash as we said our goodbyes. Around 12:35pm we got a phone call to say she was ready to go! When we arrived Adrienne handed over the puppy she was grooming at the time to an assistant while she personally brought mocha back to us and helped us take a few pictures with mocha at the door. Mocha was very happy and calm when we picked her up from Adrienne! Found our new mocha groomer, highly recommend!!!!!!

What I like most is how they don't require your pet to be put down for the ordeal. I took my Lady Cuddles in on a friend's recommendation as to a good place to get her nice and shaven (lion cut) for the upcoming warm weather (and for shedding) and they did a fantastic job! Everything was very organized and fast. Would definitely come here again. Cuddles also looks pretty satisfied

This is the best vet and grooming salon IN BC!!! Hands down!! My little dog has a strange coat and is difficult to groom. He also has attachment issues with me and can be very wary of strangers especially if I'm with him. Adrienne the groomer is so talented and skilled I drove from Seattle to take him here after she moved, seriously!! She hand strips him which literally means she pulls his "shedded" coat off her hands. Talk about attention to detail and skill! I also drove up to BC to have his teeth cleaned because he was WAY overdue for a dental. Not only is it so much cheaper than in the states but I trusted this staff with my dogs care so much I refused to go anywhere else. Both the veterinary team and the grooming salon are top notch and if you're debating coming in LET THIS BE YOUR SIGN! Look no further. Thank you!!!

My dog Bubbles is a 13 year old Shih Tzu/Maltese cross. His long time groomer relocated so I needed…read moresomewhere else to take him. Ayros was recommended and as it's close to my home I took him there. The first groom in October 2024 was fine, average at best. He went for a second groom on December 19, 2024, and he was severely injured. Bubbles was forcibly pushed into a wire cage next to the grooming table. The shop owner and groomer, Amaya, puts dogs in there when a customer comes into the shop. Amaya was too rough and aggressively pushed Bubbles into the cage and one nail on his front paw got caught in the wires. The nail was torn and there was a lot of blood. I was waiting to pick him up and appointment was taking much longer than was normal. I texted Amaya asking how much longer it would be. She replied "10 minutes", no mention of the injury. I was in my car waiting, and continued to wait. Finally I got a little worried and went into the shop. That's when Amaya told me Bubbles was injured and showed me his paw. His nail was sticking up in a very unnatural way. Amaya insisted that it must have happened before we arrived, and her protests that it did not happen in her shop were ridiculous. If my dog had that injury prior to the appointment I would have known. Furthermore, wouldn't Amaya have immediately noticed it and contacted me? The cage bottom was covered in blood! Amaya's refusal to accept responsibility was bad enough, but when I said I was taking him to the vet she told me not to do so. She said I should just put a cone on him so he couldn't lick or chew it. Amaya is completely unqualified to recommend treatment for an injured dog, especially someone else's dog. She was trying to minimize the injury and avoid liability. Sure enough, my vet told me Bubbles had a very painful injury and required emergency surgery to remove the nail. I had to take Bubbles to a 24/7 vet hospital because it was late. The veterinary surgeon concurred that it was a very painful injury that required surgery. Bubbles has a heart murmur so the surgery was risky. Fortunately he came through the surgery and after a week he seemed over the pain. But I listened to him cry in pain for 3 days and the pain meds didn't help much. He sounded like a newborn kitten crying and it broke my heart. He is my baby, I've had him since he was 6 weeks old. Amaya continued to insist that the injury occurred before I brought him in, but she immediately reimbursed me the $880 I paid for the surgery. For that reason I did not leave a bad review on Google. However, in the 6 weeks since Bubbles' injury I was asking other dog owners where they have their dogs groomed. I spoke to 5 dog owners who told me they also had bad experiences at Ayros. They said Amaya also denied responsibility and said the injuries their dogs had must have occurred before or after the grooming service. After hearing these experiences I decided to post a negative review on Google a few days ago. Amaya immediately responded to my review and denied responsibility for Bubbles' injury. She still insists that it happened before we got there. If she really believed that she would have refused to reimburse me. The fact that Amaya did not want me to take Bubbles to the vet also spoke volumes. I highly recommend you not to choose Ayros for your dog. If you do, be sure to check your dog for injuries before and after the service. Amaya is dishonest and disrespectful, and in my opinion she is also not qualified or professionally trained to be a dog groomer. I give 1 star because I can't give no stars.

Later that evening on Dec 31st around 7 pm we received a call from Zoomies and were asked to bring our dogs in for a trial visit before they stayed overnight. We were asked to bring our dogs in at 630 am to 1130 am on Jan 2 even though we needed boarding services that same day at 1 pm. Today (Jan 1) I called the company and requested for a trial visit for today as we needed to know if they were able to board our dogs for Jan 2. Sammy the individual working called her boss and asked if we could come in today and we were appreciative of that as they were technically only open for the dogs that were already being boarded overnight and not for daycare. When I arrived at Zoomies with my 2 dogs I was then informed there would be a charge of $27 per dog for a full day visit. I was surprised and disappointed as this was never explained to us previously (the additional charges) and the charges were first mentioned when I was at the business with my 2 dogs ready to drop them off. I spoke to the owner Craig and informed him of all that had occurred and he said he would talk to his staff and offered his apologies. He stuck by the daycare rate and offered me no other options. Craig even informed me the overnight boarding option was new as of Dec 2014 and was for dogs that had already had a daycare visit. This was surprising for me to hear as this had not been mentioned on Dec 31st when we initially booked their services. I was unaware of the requirements for a overnight stay (i.e. the additional cost for a daycare visit). There was a huge barrier in communication here as well as poor customer service! We are extremely disappointed as we feel there were no other options made available to us as potential customers!

My dog is a year and a half, and her hair had never been cut ever since she was born, and now it will take years for it to grow back after this. Not only did she cut the fur off, the cut itself was so extremely poor, I've had people ask me if I cut it myself. I posted the post-groom pictures on my Maltese group online, and the consensus was this person is not a "master groomer". Every single leg is cut different, her face is different on either side, there are scissor cuts left in the fur all over her body. She did have a top knot before the groom, and I told the groomer that I like to put it in a ponytail every single day, and she cut it so uneven and short that she herself had to put it into two ponytails because it's almost impossible to have it put into one ponytail with how it's cut. And to be clear, I handed over a dog that had ZERO knots or mats in her fur. I combed through her fur with a metal comb less than an hour before the groomer arrived. Completely devastating when I was so specific. Within minutes of meeting the groomer by her van, she told me that my dog was not a purebred (I have papers), that she had a blocked tear duct, and that her hair would never grow long. I brought her to the vet the next day because of course I was worried if she maybe she did have a blocked tear duct. A $90 veterinarian examination fee and five minutes later to be told her eyes are perfectly fine. And then there another $90 for another groom to have this absolutely terrible cut fixed. What a nightmare. If you're looking for a specific cut, while this person identifies as a "master groomer", the cut she gave she might as well be working at Petsmart, which is where most people thought I brought my dog to have her hair done. So in total, I have paid $358 to have my 5 pound dog trimmed. I also wonder if she is even an actual working groomer now. She showed up in a van that was completely smashed up on the side, and when I looked in her van, it looked more like storage than a place where a dog could be groomed. Never again. So ripped off. The first two pictures are right after the groom in the van, and the last picture is the beautiful dog I handed over to her.
