Unfortunately, I had the worst experience I could encounter with my investment!! I had gotten 5…read morequotes and chose the middle quote. Oh my goodness!! The unprofessionalism displayed throughout!! On Wednesday, when RBM started, with 3 guys mostly hanging around their vehicles and the main one man crew. On the Friday, Bobby invoiced me so I left a cheque in the mailbox...before getting the mess inspected . They then started my next door neighbor's house using my power for their generator. Bobby offered a $50 reimbursement...which was never honoured. On Sunday, I noticed 7 bundles on top of my roof, garbage on my UNFINISHED front veranda and one of my exterior cameras pointed downward...why? When I questioned Bobby, he brought it to his one man crew's attention. Monday morning, one man crew claimed he finished it...yes...by putting brand new shingles onto old shingles. At that point, I was concerned how the rest of my house was completed if I, myself can see issues. That day, I got another roofing company to go up to see UNBELIEVABLE workmanship!! Nails all over the roof, filled eavestroughs with debris, exposed nails that allow for future leakage, rips and cuts in shingles, missing ice/water barrier, missing drip edge, 2 spots where worn shingles should NOT have been used (manufacturer would have replaced them), incorrect valleys that the manufacturer will not warranty the product if future leakage, 2 sides completely shingled wrongly...why? After bringing these few issues to Bobby's attention, strangely enough, his one man crew got back onto my roof at 1:30pm THAT day...no notice given to me...and replaced the worn shingles he "just happened" to know where they were...WITH MY NEIGHBOUR'S SHINGLES...A DIFFERENT COLOUR!!!!...creating a patchwork quilt!! That evening, while Bobby was attempting to fix the patchwork quilt with the correct colour of shingles, another professional roofer picked apart more difficiencies to Bobby's face. He got Bobby to admit how badly the roof was done and Bobby offered to replace my ENTIRE roof. He asked for my email so he could etransfer an INCONVENIENCE reimbursement. HOWEVER, after Bobby portrayed he is NOT a man of his word multiple times by not following through with promises made in text messages, I finally requested a full refund so I can hire a reputable company to redo my roof PLUS a monetary request for my inconvenience. We depend on roofers to protect our investment...not to have our investment depreciated. Whenever I see their signage displayed, I advise those customers to get an inspection and I share what I experienced. We as customers trust contractors...I hope Bobby will do what is right by my roof!! I can only advise folks to find reputable roofers who are part of the Alberta Roof Contractors Association and where they are held accountable. RBM Roofing is not a part of this association.

Raj and the crew came early in the morning and worked diligently... the crew was friendly and I was impressed with their clean-up at the end of the day. Chelsea came by after the work was done and was helpful and I gave her some neighbourhood referrals and told her that I was ok for Roofing RBM to place their sign on my front yard. Bobby called me afterwards about completing the work project. And thanks Dave Charette for doing the downspout extensions. They are good people and wishing them continued success!

They were dedicated, professional, timely, and in fact, blew me away by putting in an incredible amount of detail and care. They didn't settle for right, they wanted it to be perfect - if a single sheet was 'notable' they wanted it changed. I never saw a member of the team walk past a window without picking up debris, and we appreciate that level of care. Couldn't be happier!

We had intended to sub it all out ourselves and we were very close to pulling the trigger when we met Joe at the Edmonton home show. He gave us honest advice that we could do better, especially on the quality of windows we were about to lock in. So we asked if he would give us a quote for the whole thing. We had already hired a designer, so we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted, but Joe spent a lot of time with us, showing us other options and ultimately dialing in the exact design. Specifically, he showed us some options that we had never considered with a mix of vinly siding and Hardie. Joe also got window quotes that were the same price or better than we had received, but for higher quality windows. Often a good salesman doesn't always translate to a good team. That was not the case with Smart Home. Their entire team and sub contractors were excellent. Once the project started and we were able to directly contact the sub contractors and they were all very responsive. With any multi-faceted job, there will be issues, and they were all handled quickly. For example, we noticed right away that the style of vinyl siding was wrong, it was fixed the next day. We had some electrical issues, the electrician came back multiple times, until it was solved. We had water issues with our garage that became more apparent when the old siding was removed. Andrew, the primary job manager, came to us with helpful suggestions and ultimately implemented the agreed upon solution. Andrew also made innovative suggestions on how to reconfigure our eavestroughs to avoid icy spots in the winter. Smart Home only works with excellent contractors and we couldn't have been happier with the entire process from start to finish. Fair, honest dealing with a company that truly made us feel like they had a stake in the final product. I can't recommend them enough.

Ardent Roofing was one of the first to show up on a Google search, and the company's website looked professional and trustworthy. We obtained a quote which had good pricing compared to a few of the other companies we seeked out, and was actually cheaper than some other roofing companies. We had narrowed our choices down to two companies, Ardent Roofing and Rapid Roofing & Renovations. I asked both companies for references from previous satisfied customers, so that I could verify their workmanship before taking on such a large project. A man named Murl responded to me quite rudely that they "have lots of good references" but refused to give me any and just ended it at that (rude, short email), and told me I had better book with them now otherwise I won't get an appointment secured for the spring, as they get very busy. It was completely unprofessional and rude, and they clearly didn't want our business, because they were willing to give up a $15,000 project for a re-roof of house, garage, fascia, soffits and eaves - just because I asked them to provide references. I have never come across a home renovations company before that refused to provide references, so I find this really strange, and it is clearly just bad business tactics. Rapid Roofing, on the other hand, provided us with five references of the last five houses they re-roofed, and all of them gave us fantastic reviews, and some even gave me their addresses, so I could pop by and have a look at what a good job they did. It's a shame that one person representing what seems to be an otherwise successful company just ruined a job and lost the company out on thousands. If you're going to do a re-roof, I'd suggest going with Rapid Roofing (they also have a 10 year workmanship warranty and 25 year roof warranty, along with higher quality shingles).

To start with, our roof had double sided sticky underlay which meant that it took twice as long to take off, but they didn't charge more for the extra time it took. They also realized that the plumbing for our sewer vent was not installed properly so they made a trip to the hardware store and replaced it for us free of charge. They are truly a company with integrity and I would have no problems referring them to a friend.
