The bread was fresh, the order was ready upon entry, and the quality was on-point. The rice was a little chewy but that lamb. Could've used more white sauce but again that lamb. Their red sauce is hot and thick like it should be. I hate red sauce that's just hot sauce. Unfortunately the above sentence is a lie, and in fact this is just a lower-to-mid-price convenience store on a corner in one of the most run-down, underfunded neighbourhoods in the entire Western world. I think I was the only white person not just on this day at this time, but ever, from some of the looks I got, to enter this little mini mart. I got a soda (semi-decent selection, low-to-mid prices), because it was freaking hot. I was exploring the entire neighbourhood where the recent riots were. Police helicopters circled overhead. Lots of suspicious looks and nervous comments. Very sad. But this is a nice little beacon of normalcy and friendliness in the middle of the hood. If the products were slightly more affordable for the mostly-unemployed locals around here, I'd even give it a 5. You'd think Kanye would be able to give the groceries away, but alas.
