So I've tried to be a consistent customer at RF Holabird Ave location because I live so close....I like the people and the products they carry, however I've spent countless amounts of $ on food that I've ultimately thrown away AFTER spending my $ due to chicken that's sat in the wells all day, they're hard, greasy & shouldn't be sold!!! I decided to stop buying the chicken for awhile, maybe (2) months...Well just came from RF bought a breast and just threw it away!!!! The one star is for the food. The missing 4 stars are for how I was treated just now. The COOK needs to find another place to work. Maybe another industry. Certainly NOT n customer service. I was basically called a liar and was verbally harassed and abused. Over a piece of chicken. Yes!! A piece of chicken. Ordered the 8pc family meal deal. One breast was cold and tuff. The others there were juicy and delicious. She said that was impossible. I waited patiently for her to fix the issue. She did not believe me or care. I showed her the difference in the 2 breasts. I used to cook chicken like this for a living. Sometimes batches get mixed. Just like with fries or anything else that is thrown in a pan. Checked this place out on a monday evening 10/10/22. Before I get to the food, I would like to point out that the corner that this place sits on is a common hangout for drug dealers. There is usually a handful of thugs hanging out trying to sell you drugs whether it's weed, crack, heroin, etc. Now to the food. I got a breast, wing. spicy tender, spicy potato wedges, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, bbq bacon burger, and a make your own hot dog in which I put onions, cheese, and bacon. Where do I even begin? I guess I will go in order. The breast, wing, and spicy tender was DRY. I swear sand fell out when I took a bite. Not much flavor either. I think it was sitting under those warmers for a while. The spicy potato wedges were a bit dry too and the spices tasted like dried buffalo sauce. The mac n cheese I don't think the macaroni was cooked all the way like it was stale. The cheese tasted like powder mixed with water. The mashed potatoes were in the same boat as well. It did not taste anything like potatoes. The gravy I put on there had some flavor and that's all I could taste. The bbq bacon burger im not sure if the patty was actual beef. Upon further inspection it didnt look like beef at all (refer to my pic). On top of that it was overcooked. After the first bite it felt like I was chewing gum. The grilled onion with it was really mushy. The hot dog the meat was hella salty. Out of all that, the only thing that had any decent taste worth remembering was the bacon and bbq sauce on the burger. As for the store itself, they have 3 ATM's located at the front as soon as you come in. Just like the questionable peeps outside there were also some inside just literally standing there trying to sell drugs too. Overall, there is nothing royal about this place and I don't see why the chicken is supposedly famous. Sure if you are looking for drugs than this location is perfect! There is only one young man and a couple lady cashiers who are nice, however it's always one person ringing up people each time. This always happens when it's busy. I also have an issue with the people who make cold sandwiches. Each and every time they throw it together like they don't care and I believe it's because they don't like to make them. I find new places everytime I visit the Inner Harbor in Baltimore and this is a good one. Here, you have a convenience store but that's not all, you have the deli section with Fried Chicken! Legit Fried Chicken that is crispy and as good as any. Be sure to buy cole slaw to help balance out the fried meal sensation and the sinful eating session following purchase. Definitely a good busy place, not exactly a social venue, makes food immediately for you or you can go processed, I do not know which/what is healthier. I could talk about the people there but employee turnover is heavy (like 7-Eleven, where I've always gone ~99.999% and still will due to sheer lifetime respect and loyalty) so generally just good staff and not their fault it is difficult to pronounce/hear the word "VUSE" behind the counter. I've never heard of Royal Farms before. I thought it was some sort of local organic food market. Instead it's a gas-station style convenience store. That said. I liked it. The cashier was very friendly and professional. Unlike most convenience stores in urban downtown areas. We came in looking for Sour Bright Crawler gummies. They are not to be found here, but we did find some Sour Bright Octopus gummies. Not nearly as good in my opinion. I also got a cup of coffee which was decent for a convenience store like this. I hate going in here because the vents over the fryers are either not cleaned or don't have adequacy venting. Look at the glass above the doors, they are coated with dust and grease. The pores in your face are clogged with all of the grease in the air. It's completely disgusting. Hours later, I can smell that oil smell on my face. I've been meaning to write this review for some time. I've gotten food from here at least a dozen times and rarely is it good.
