Convenient gas just off the highway. And the restrooms are fairly clean. Not Pristine but clean enough and there are no flies or trash or anything. Pumps are quick and easy to use. Good place to stop just off the highway on your way from DC to Lancaster, it's about halfway there. read more

Even though this place was getting robbed when I went inside ... I had thee most pleasant experience with the young curly haired man and the dread headed man during the night shift. He was so nice. And all the staff had the same energy. I am really pleased with the food he made for me. Because his meat was huge in comparison to other stops I make at other royal farms. I'm really pleased with the ambiance and sense of community he had even though he was the only person I spoke to. During and after the robbery he was able to make me feel safe and welcomed. On July 4th at approximately 4:50pm I attempted to patron the Edmondson Ave Royal Farms. I placed an order for a large western fry and went to check out at the self checkout that is closet to the actual register. While attempting to checkout using my Apple Pay I had an issue with my card never once did I speak to an employee. But in the midst of trying to make my purchase one of the employees was at the self checkout next to me attempting to make a purchase herself. In doing this the self checkout out she was attempting to use said that she needed assistance. I tried to continue with my own purchase and while pulling up another card the self checkout I was using said that I needed assistance as well. Still maintaining no verbal communication with any Royal farms associates. The store employee at this point was behind the counter trying to figure out how to clear the register she was attempting to use on another when she had problems and called over a VERY RUDE, EYE AND NECK ROLLING MALORIE. Who appears to NOT KNOW THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING WHEN DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES. Malorie approaches the screen and says to the other employee " what is the problem and don't you know how to do? Whatever order was on the screen will have to be cancelled and ordered again!" At that point I asked what was the order being cancelled because I wasn't sure if my purchase went through since I displayed the assistance needed message. Malorie then stated while walking away with a attitude and continued behavior "WHATEVER WAS ON THE SCREEN!" At that point the screen was fixed and a voided receipt was printed and I told the cashier that "I no longer wanted to reorder because of the how Malorie acted." This encounter didn't help the fact she was originally working with the food and had to assist her own employee. I exited the store and returned a few seconds later to ask the cashier was the store manager available and she told me that Malorie was the manager on duty at the time. I then asked about the general manager. That's when Malorie approached stating MIMI had just left and was outside and did I want her to get Mimi. I replied "Yes, because your customer service is ewww." She said MiMi had left the parking lot. At that point I asked what Mimi hours were because I wanted to speak with her. Malorie stated "4-2." Even with this entire encounter Malorie still displayed a nasty attitude, poor customer service, was not setting the example for the employees in the store at all. Due to this recent nasty and distasteful encounter I will no longer patron this location regardless of how close it is to my residence. I am pretty sure this is NOT how ROYAL FARMS expects its employees to treat customers and is NOT THE ROFO WAY. I am asking that ROYAL FARMS takes the necessary steps to correct this behavior of Malorie because she should not work a job that requires decent customer service skills and she is acting the complete opposite. read more

I suppose if I had some of the experiences the other reviewers had, I may have also left a negative review. However, my experience was very different. I had attempted to order on line twice with no success. Then I called in the order, and the very polite gentleman, Shamal, took my order; however, he then told me my credit card had been rejected. I knew there should be no problem with my credit card, so I drove to the store and personally ordered what I needed for the next day. Of course the credit card was accepted. The manager, Sophia, was wonderful to work with, and Shamal was as polite in person as he was on the phone. I'm not sure why my credit card was declined with Shamal. It's very possible that my Credit Union declined it because I had never used it at that store, and I wasn't personally using it at that time. That institution, or Visa, is rather strict if they think the card is being used fraudulently, which I appreciate. Yes, I will definitely return to this store when I need a large quantity of chicken! Maybe next time my card won't be declined when Shamal tries to enter it for my order! read more

They moved next door and have restrictions on who's allowed to rent there. So. Because Royal Farms sells coffee nobody can make coffee in this building. This property wants $7,000 a month rent. The new location is always dirty and they always have very few people working there it doesn't seem like a good place to work. read more

Just don't even give them your money. They have zero appreciation for their customers apparently because their staff, specifically the ones making food, are incredibly rude and aggressive. They're visibly angry and annoyed when a customer needs assistance. They make rude comments unnecessarily. I assume this is because the customer dared to ask them to do their job. This store seriously needs to put some hiring standards in place instead of hiring just any immature, lazy, and disrespectful people who feel entitled too good to be working there. I will NEVER return to this store ever again. I don't need to put up with that to spend my money. There are plenty of other businesses who actually value their customers and don't/won't put up with or hire rude, unbathed, lazy, ignorant grown children. If you go here you will 100% be treated like they're doing you a huge favor and you shouldn't expect proper customer service or even just basic respect. This is a poorly run store; in evening. We just moved in area and have been to this store several times. We have gotten stale donuts; coffee isn't made or it's Luke warm, creamer or sugar near or at empty. The manager, janet or Janice is rude if she is asked to do anything to help the workers or the customers!! She seems to like being around the lottery machine but not much else at the store. We went there tonight, around 7-730. We went for chicken, potatoes, cigarettes and a couple snacks. Chicken was completely empty and was going to be 20 min. We were going to wait so we went for a cup Of coffee.. the coffee was so old the powder creamer wouldn't dissolve. The line was long ( only 1 person working and manager was getting HERSELF lottery tickets). We asked if someone could make fresh coffee and went to proceed with paying for our food and get cigarettes. We needed a carton and the cashier couldn't get the case with cartons ( promotional carton) to unlock. He asked her for her help and she rolled her eyes at him. She Walked over and he said he couldn't unlock the case; she had a bad attitude and told us we had to buy what was on the shelf. We explained the carton was the promotion price and she said " I said you have to buy what's out". We put down everything that was in our hands and left. We will not spend our money in a place that doesn't appreciate their customers! I am addicted to Royal Farm chicken but I will not buy anything in this store until this manager figures out if she wants to manage it or she really does hate her job! If so, move in because there are a lot of people out there that would gladly take the job and make this particular store better run with customer service like the others are run! We stopped at the one in Washington blvd and boy what a difference. It was clean, food and coffee were fresh and employees literally smiled and said thank you! It may be a few minutes out of the way, but if we are spending 100.00 I want a damn smile and a thank you! read more

By far my favorite Royal Farms so far. I was greeted with a warm welcome by the cashier named Jenny. Not only did she greet me but she also advise me on sale promotion of the day.
