fried chicken in a paper bag
James W.

The Chicken was over cooked the wedge potatoes were over cooked and dry and greasy , I've eaten chicken there a lot and this was the 1st time the chicken was not good !

Chicken and Taters

I love Royal Farms chicken and taters! The chicken reminds me of my grandma's. I also love the milkshakes extra thick. This location is good because it's one traffic light from I95S! The gas is usually a little cheaper as well!

At royal farms, I got a royal tea

Other gas stations can relate to Lorde... because they'll never be Royal. This is a large, clean gas station that is open 24 hours on the south side of downtown Baltimore, right across from the casino and close to the Ravens Stadium and Orioles Park. The gas pumping part is excellent, but once you get inside, things go south. They have a great selection of things to buy but only one person serving about 25 people in line (and this has happened every single time I've been in, but granted all times were after dark, sometimes late at night). Anyway, it's my go to station in Baltimore because it's open, it's clean, it's fairly safe, it's right next to the interstate, and it's cheaper than a lot of local stations. You can call me Roy or call me Al but I'll fill out all the relevant Farms to say this is a top notch gas station in a city that doesn't have enough of them.

I wish I could eat it all

Never had an issue with this location. It's bright as hell at night and I actually feel safe pumping gas in the dark. Also look at my photo for the beautiful bountifulness that is their chicken! Stay golden Rofo!!

Why do they have the food all thrown around like this? Needless to say, I left hungry!

I am not sure how the customer service is at this Royal Farms because after seeing the food THROWN around in the show case, I literally turned around and walked out. It was a huge mound of fries all over the little showcase. The area where they have the chicken and fries looks unclean. I will not be getting any food from this place....EVER. I can't believe people were actually standing in the line to order food from here. Really Royal Farms. Do better! I like y'all chicken!

The coffee is great. The fried chicken is old and stale, the western fries were soggy and the prices are over the TOP.

Matriarch Coffee lived up to every bit of the hype -- and then some…read more I'd been hearing about Matriarch Coffee for a while from friends near me in the DMV, and I finally made the drive up to Baltimore to see what all the hype was about. Short answer: absolutely worth it!Long answer: I'm already thinking about my next excuse to come back. Walking in, the space immediately delivers. The aesthetic is awesome-- the kind of intentional, beautifully designed interior that feels warm and curated rather than staged. It's trendy without being cold, and the Inner Harbor location makes it that much more special. I know there is a huge renovation planned "down the harbor" , this Matriarch is ALREADY READY! You get all the energy of the waterfront with a cozy, tucked-in feel once you're inside. Now, the coffee. I got a latte that was genuinely one of the better cups I've had in a long time -- smooth, rich, perfectly pulled. I also had a Chai and paired it with a cherry & cheese danish that was fresh and delicious, the ideal complement to the drink. I asked for it heated and it was hot all the way through. Hate it when I get it and it is cold in the middle...the barista understood the assignment and got us right! Everything felt thoughtful, like someone in that kitchen actually cares about what they're putting out -- because they do. Speaking of which -- I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and it all made sense. Warm, passionate, and clearly proud of what they've built. Shirts, cups, napkins, and merch that says "I love my Matriarch" is a reminder of the "Why" behind this spot I think. That kind of energy flows through the entire space and staff. You feel it the moment you walk in. The Matriarch isn't just a coffee shop. It's a destination. If you're in Baltimore, this is a must. If you're outside the city -- make the drive. Trust me. See you soon, Matriarch!

We had the matcha latte, and a menu special: solar eclipse which was chai with expresso macadamia nut milk and lavender syrup. Matcha was good flavor and quality. The drink special I pass, I gave it a fair try but it didn't taste good- there was a very acidic taste at the end. My first time in was after calling to see if they had gift cards, went without an answer . So I went there and nope. Waisted my time going there.

I went on a Saturday morning around 9:45 and waited about 25 minutes for a table for 2. The menu is EXTENSIVE and they have an option for pretty much anything you're in the mood for! I got the Mexican egg scramble and the pumpkin pancakes to share. The prices might seem slightly on the higher side for a breakfast place, but once you get your food you'll understand why. The portions are generous and the food is delicious! I ended up taking half of the food home and I genuinely looked forward to eating it as leftovers - which fed me for multiple meals. 12/10 would recommend the pumpkin pancakes no matter what season it is. They come with white chocolate chips, fruit, and a caramel drizzle on top. The French toast also looked incredible so I'll be sure to order that the next time I go! I

It's 9:30am, I'm not trying to scream over 90s pop music to have a conversation with someone two feet away from me. The menu was a QR code on a dirty, laminated card stuck to the table. My friend and I each ordered an entree plus a short stack to share. Neither of our egg dishes came with toast so we ordered that on the side. All they offer is white, English muffin or biscuit. I ordered the white toast and it is the 2" thick, low quality, tasteless white bread they use for their French toast. Whatever. The utensils are one step above plastic - they are light-weight, cheap, rough edged crap you might imagine in a prison. Whatever. The plastic containers of half and half were already on the table, sitting there at room temp. Again, whatever. The waitress dropped off the bill, said to use the QR code to pay unless we were using cash, then took off. If we wanted to split the bill, I guessed we would need to wait for her to come back around. So, I offered to pay the astoundingly high bill. I open the QR link and the first things that popped are the tip options with 20% pre-selected. All told the bill was $97 for two people. When I got home I glanced at the itemized bill: *They charged us $16 for two cups of coffee with one refill each. *a 20 % tip was already included! Apparently, they add 20% onto checks over $50. Of course it's over $50 when you charge $16 for mugs of coffee, and $$ for sides of crappy white toast. Make no mistake, this is my fault for paying with the QR code and not combing through the itemized bill first. I guess I'm not used to going to neighborhood joints expecting to get fleeced. My suggestion: go around the corner to Spoons Cafe on Cross St: high quality food and you won't feel robbed blind when you look at the bill.

There is plenty of seating inside as well as a bunch of different photo opportunities. The staff here was very warm and welcoming. The menu has a bunch of different pre-thought of combinations as well as the opportunity for you to make your own in addition to coffee drinks, as well as other desserts. I got the Oreo smash and the staff was nice enough to let me get a fresh chimney cake so it was warm out of the oven. In the bottom of the chimney cake, they put two marshmallows to keep the ice cream as it melts from breaking down the paper cone that it sits in which add a nice little sweet addition to the overall dessert. This dessert was so good and I wholeheartedly appreciate that the ice cream is dairy free. I tasted Oreo cookie in every bite and the warm chimney cake was the cherry on top for me. I will definitely be back again.

They sell some coffee brewing supplies like Chemex filters, some merch like shirts. The shop itself is pretty spacious with cement floors and tables and some high top tables. Pretty typical coffee shop look and feel. There aren't a lot of outlets available for the high tops, but I'm not sure about the tables on the edges of the space. Most of the customers seem to come in for a cup and roll out. There are a lot of office buildings here, so that makes sense. They have free password protected wifi and it's decent.
