I just found out that royal farms has some amazing chicken! I wasn't living under a rock but never lived near one. I do now and finally got to order some chicken. They had a 4 piece with wedges and biscuit for $10! That's a great deal and I got some Cole slaw and gravy on the side. I was very impressed. Better than kfc, Popeyes, krispy crunchy, and jolleebee! Great crunch, moist and not salty. The gravy was very good and the biscuit was soft and fluffy. The Cole slaw was a bit too sweet for my liking but for the price it is a good amount. Awesome staff and super clean place to stop! Love the large selection of alcohol compared to the nearby wawa in Media, PA that also serves. Tons of surfsides/canned cocktails and a pretty decent craft beer selection too (media wawa usually only sells domestic). They also have fresh lemonade and their brand of regular iced tea is very solid too. The chicken is pressured cooked too so it reheats very very well in the air fryer if you buy some for later. Overall very pleased with Royal Farms and the selection of items compared to Wawa's especially on the terms of energy drinks, sparkling waters and other cooler beverage items. read more

My buddy told me about this chicken place being sold inside the gas station and he insisted i must try before i leave to go back home to California. Back to royal farms chicken. We ordered their special 5 pieces and I'm not sure if we just went to a bad royal farm but this chicken was salty and the Fries were soggy. This Royal just opened in the new shopping center next to the Blue Route on West Chester Pike. I had to stop in to get some of their fried chicken which I like. The two piece white meat chicken combo I ordered was great. The chicken was very moist and the crust flavorful with a nice crunch. The potato's were also good and a small dinner roll was included. The problem with not giving more stars was that the two piece white meat combo only had one breast. The other was a thigh. When I brought it to their attention they insisted that the thigh was white meat and would not replace it. Oh well. Plenty of seating if you want to eat there. You can purchase beer there and they had a nice selection of doughnuts. read more

RoFo is a solid convenience store chain. Bright stores, decent selection, good fried chicken. This one seemed a little disorganized, and the drink section was picked over and out of a number of items. Otherwise, though, it was fine. The bathroom was usable. Excellent fried chicken and fingers as long as they are fresh. I used to own a fast food fried chicken place at the VF outlets in Reading, PA and Royal farms uses the broaster company recipe along with the high pressure fryers just like I did. As long as the system is followed the chicken is outstanding, let me explain. The chicken isn't intended to sit in the warming units that are on display for more than 30 minutes to an hour tops. What they're supposed to use is alto shams which basically keep and hold the chicken at the proper temperature without cooking it further. The result is amazing chicken that tastes like it was just cooked. Unfortunately, some locations don't follow the protocol and you'll get some chicken that's been sitting in the warmer for way over an hour and it's hard as a rock because in the warmer units that are on display it just keeps cooking because the temperature is extreme. Overall great food and easy to order though the kiosks! read more

New gas station just off the Blue Route (I-476 to outlanders) at the entrance to a new shopping location with somewhat upscale Giant supermarket and fitness club. Shoe-horned into interesting topographical area of DelCo, the entire shopping center and gas station is dominated by retaining walls everywhere. The worst of all the royal farms in Delaware county. They close their kitchen at 8...I asked why they do not serve food the same times as other stores and they stated "they fired all of the overnight crew because they were too lazy". As a result they close at 10pm now. As someone who runs a business in the area Id like to point out that this location used to be a favorite spot for our employees to eat at night. The place was absolutely filthy! The outside the trash reeked so badly you can smell it from the entrance. When inside, the kitchen had smoked out the store. The floor was littered with dried up food. The place hadn't been cleaned for a while and no one seem to care. Good evening to you Yelp Family. My family visited on Saturday, February 8th, 2020. I decided to come here to visit the gas station. My main reason to stop here was because the family wanted to visit the Giant which is nearby. This is not my first time patronizing a Royal Farms, but it was my first visit at this location. I'm not impressed with Royal Farms, it is not a WAWA. In my opinion, Royal Farms is competing neck and neck with WAWA. However, in my opinion, Royal Farms is nowhere even close to Wawa.. Wawa has nothing to fear!! Anyway, I paid for my gas inside the Royal Farms and then went out to pump my gas. The associate, Christin was friendly and smiled. Smiling scores huge points for me! I had to go back into the Royal Farms, since my gas purchase was less than $20.00, I had change coming. Christin was polite again and I left with my correct change. New Royal Farms. Never eaten at one before. Had always heard good things. I was very underwhelmed. The chicken was extremely salty. And not just a little salty. Salty to the point that we couldn't finish it. Also tried one of their pulled pork sandwiches. Actually very good but had a decent sized bone in it. And lastly the fries were just mush. I was very excited there was a Royal Farms opening up in our area. They have a large assortment of items, the store was very clean and it looks like they will have a beer selection soon. Lots of positives. However, the people they have working behind the counter to serve the chicken are terrible. I am not speaking about the people at the front register, they were fine. I placed an order for chicken fingers and when my order was called, the only item placed on the countertop was the soup. I was confused by this because I didn't know where the chicken fingers were. The employee said nothing to indicate that you pick it up at the second counter. That wasn't so bad, but then they called my number at the second counter. When I went over there, I told the girl behind the counter my number and she totally ignored me. She also then shouted out a bunch of other numbers, which made it confusing. Then she put a box on top of the counter. And I had to check it myself to see if it was my order since she decided she didn't want to speak. There was no number on the box, so I literally had to look inside the box to see if the food was what i ordered. Extremely rude. If I was a manager there and just opened up a brand new store I would get rid of employees that don't speak to customers. I am not sure if I will come back.
