Food and Service were great! Staff were very friendly and helpful to decide what I wanted to order. Will definitely come back if I come back to town. Highly recommend!

[1088] 2/2020 Roma Deli is located on busy MacDade. I must have passed this place a million times. I visited this store due to a gift card I won at an event. I'm so glad I did. The food was really good and it was very inexpensive. We picked up a bunch of hoagies, soup, tenders and fries. My son loved his tenders that when we were in the area a few days later we picked up so more. You can call ahead or wait. There are a few parking spaces on the side which is plenty as it's not a sit down restaurant. It's a deli/store with tons of items to choose from for dinner. I will definitely be back.

A cross between an old fashioned deli and a out of date deli/convenience store. They have your typical chips and snack cakes as well as coolers filled with drinks along the back wall and on the left side coolers with your typical deli sides and presliced lunch meats. There were shelves along the front counter with large containers of hot peppers, olive oils and other Italian specialties and bread bins along the bottom half of the counter one side Liscio's and one side Amoroso. Menu boards hover over the counter. Their meat's were made by multiple companies, but I noticed mostly Dietz & Watson products. The woman who took my order was very friendly and helpful for a first timer. She recommended the Roma Italian, which would be a lighter Italian hoagie, but it lacked peppered ham so I chose the 12 in Original Italian. The sandwich was completed in a couple of minutes which was impressive. The cost for the hoagie and a bottle of water was a little over $6 which is a steal. Before I left I asked which bread they used. Today they said Amoroso, so they seem to rotate who's bread they use for a sandwich. Although stuffed with meat the Delco Way (Meat on top lettuce, tomato, onion on the bottom) I found the sandwich to lack flavor. It was very unbalanced and leaned heavy on the salami, bologna side. The peppered ham just didn't help the flavor profile of the sandwich and the provolone was muted completely by the salami. It wasn't a bad sandwich, just not what I expect in an Italian Hoagie. The roll was crispy and decent, although i would have preferred the Liscio's. I'd repeat to try a different sandwich offering, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I can't believe I have not been to Roma Deli before. Special Wednesday addition of Amigo Dan. We went to Roma Deli because I heard they had a $6 Hoagie and the world's best Rice pudding. They had a special, $6.99 12" Cajun Turkey Hoagie w/Cheese so I got that. It was big, well made and tasted great. The rice pudding was amazing and I may have to do a separate review just for the rice pudding. Amigo Dan & I had been talking about Corropolese rolls and Federal St pretzels. Roma had free samples of Corropolese tomato pie and a cheesesteak pretzel made with a federal pretzel. Amigo Dan loved the tomato Pie. The cheesesteak pretzel sat in the car longer than expected due to 2SP being closed for regular maintenance (I thought you did regular maintenance when you were closed). It didn't look great but it was very tasty. Wilmington Brew Works was open and we found several beers that complemented our Roma feast very well.

    Really? Disappointing.

Let me repeat...America's Pie is NOT just a pizza place, and while their pizza is absolutely wonderful, it is in the raw selection and quality of that broad selection that makes this place freaking outstanding. I have had the opportunity to order food from here several times over the last several years and they have one of the most unique "pizza shop" restaurant menus out there and even have a massive selection of tacos that you can pick from. I have had several opportunities to write my review of this spot, but it wasn't until I discovered something very special here that finally drove me to write my full opinion. My most recent visit to America's Pie was one born of laziness. Everyone at home wanted something different and we didn't want to cook, so we were simply looking at places that would be easy that we don't order from that often and landed here. The menu is so large that I was being indecisive and that was when I saw it...all the way at the bottom of the sandwiches section, what I have now identified as one of the top three sandwiches I have ever had in my life, and I've had a lot of sandwiches: the Tony Bourdain. A strange combination of ingredients, all delicious and savory in their own right, brought together to create a bread-borne experience unlike few, if any, that I have ever had before. This seriously is one of, if not, THE BEST sandwiches that I have ever had. It is not what it looks like, or the way it is constructed that makes it so good. What makes it so amazing is the absolutely mastery and command of the knowledge of the ingredients, the quality of those ingredients, and their interaction together on the flavors they will produce when combined within the very high quality seeded roll that it all comes neatly packed within. It is not a pretty, easy to eat and clean sandwich. It gets everywhere, and it is worth it. You SHOULD get this sandwich, for the culinary perfection, but also to honor the late Anthony Bourdain. This is definitely a meal that properly honors the man and his legacy. America's Pie isn't perfect but it is one of the best pizza/sandwich/pasta places in my area of Delco. Hands down. The specialty sandwiches really take it to the next level and that Tony Bourdain shoots them into the stratosphere. You will never have a bad meal here. They are local people making great food, with a local but very friendly attitude, and want you to enjoy everything you order. Explore the menu and check them out. I made a pledge to work my way through the sandwich menu just because that sandwich was so damn good and I am excited about every single one that I check off that list. Can't wait to bump into you there!

The owners do a lot for the local community, they do days where they donate proceeds and provide free pizza for the local businesses. My company has also done hoagie catering with America's Pie and it's a great deal for great food.

I've enjoyed all of my lunch visits and really appreciate the owners kindness, friendly service and tasty sandwiches. If you're looking for a quick in and out, be patient or I would suggest ordering ahead. It's a husband and wife operation so they make their sandwiches one at a time. Their ready-made meals are in a warmer. So far I've tried their Italian hoagie - prosciutto, salami, capocollo, mortadella, provolone ..... Italian Chicken Parm Sandwich ..... Bresaola Hoagie - Beef Prosciutto, grana Padano cheese and a spring mix .... and the Porchetta Sandwich - sweet peppers, roasted pork and provolone cheese. They have all come lightly toasted on either seeded or unseeded Liscio's Tuscan no point rolls. In my humble option they've all been delicious. The portions aren't huge, but the quality of the ingredients are just right hence a little bit of a higher price than other hoagie places. Their espresso rotation of Essse Caffe (Bologna) and O'Ccaffe (outside of Rome) have been a nice treat for an extra pick me up. I've bought several different Italian cookies and treats for co-workers and staff. Most bags are around $4. They also have Italian water (San Pellegrino/Acqua Panna) and Italian sodas for sale. There is plenty of on street parking and they advertise catering options. Give these guys a visit instead of dumping your money into the big hoagie chain down the road! Thanks guys and see you soon!

Being a smaller operation/kitchen, my best advice would be to order in advance. Wait times for walk up were 15-20 mins. The couple running the operation are very nice people and not afraid to give recommendations or talk shop. Menu prices are just below or right around average in the area. The double smash burger I ordered on my first trip ($9.95 + extra $3 for fries) was a little drippy and the meat itself was a little bland, but the crisp edges were there and the onions, mustard, ketchup, pickle added some flavor. I believe I heard the cook say a single is 4oz. The bun was good, but was soggy from the grease. Overall for a smash in this area I give it a good grade. The seasoned fries that came with weren't bad. 15 min wait for walk up. My second visit felt like a chili and wing day. The boss man recommended his Lemon Pepper sauce on the side. The wings were on the smaller side, breaded with a seasoning/rub on them that was pretty salty. The lemon pepper sauce was tangy and leaned way more to the lemon side. It wouldn't have been my first pick, but it worked. 20 min wait for walk up. They have a great menu mix - Fresh fruit smoothies, Sides (fries, tots, onion rings, hash browns, corn bread, empanadas), Breakfast sandwiches and platters (bacon, beef bacon, hot sausage, chicken & waffles), lunch has steak sandwiches, wings, single or double smash burger, hot dogs, hot sausages, chicken fingers, crispy chicken sandwich, a couple of chicken soups and a fish sandwich. They have a small drink cooler, small bags of chips and some cookies too. If you're in the area stop in and check them out. 3.5 all day for these folks. Thanks guys!
