I found this business here and knew nothing about them but the reviews and pictures were very convincing so I gave them a call. I explained it was a small job in a 10x10 room with a closet and the oak floor had been covered for at least 30 years and in rough shape. We discussed some options and I answered all of his questions about the floor and the room and he said, sight unseen, it just needed a sanding and new coat of finish and would cost X and he could come do the job in 3 days and would only take 1 day. With some mild doubt I agreed but bored for the best, we've been screwed by contractors before. The day and time he said he'd arrive he did. He came in, looked at the existing floor, the bad floor and immediately said it would take 2 days not 1 because the existing floor was oil based, not water which I thought it was. I was pissed because now I'm assuming the job would cost twice as much and this already felt like bait and switch. Luis explained the job would overall take less time to do in total, but has to be spread out to allow drying time between 2 oil based coats rather than 2 water based coats and the price would be impacted. I got ready to ask him to leave and he said the price would GO DOWN $75!!! I asked him to repeat himself, he laughed and said rather than spending the whole day doing the floor it was only going to take him a few hours now, and come back tomorrow for another 30 minutes and that's it. Let me tell you how shocked I was at his honesty and professionalism. I'm today's market with inflation and all the nonsense that goes on with shady people Luis and his team were exactly what you'd hope them to be. They did an immaculate job on a really rough floor in the time they said and under budget. If I could give them more stars I would. read more

I met some real doozies. It pays to do your due diligence as let's face it, there are real idiots out there. Know your verbiage. Research. From the time I met him, there was something about his demeanor that I liked. Luis knew what I wanted before I could find the words to describe it. I was going for a light, Scandinavian, beachy look. Luis didn't try to talk me into something I did not want and his pricing was extremely fair. The other four estimates told me to consider replacing or covering up my floors or at the very least to consider a stain to hide the dark spots. These guys did a great job with my flooring which was old and in terrible condition. The previous owner had older dogs who peed all over the floor so Luis and his guys did a great job so now it's looks beautiful. Initially we went with the oil based polyurethane but we couldn't take the smell and also the high level of the VOC almost 500 per liter so we had the guys strip the first layer of the oil based polyurethane and sand it again. After that they applied water based amberseal and two coats of water based polyurethane which has only 125 VOC per liter which is very low. Research shows that oil based polyurethane is very toxic. Also it takes a lot longer to dry and the smell stays for a long time. Water base polyurethane dries fast and the smell goes away literally within two or 3 days. they have very competitive pricing and are very friendly. read more

After contacting several other companies to have the floor in my spare room sanded, sealed, and polyurethaned and receiving astronomical estimates and long wait times to have room done, I came across this company and gave Luis a call. I was given a very reasonable estimate and within a week my floor was done. I posted pictures of the work and I couldn't be happier. Luis and his team were fantastic. Very polite, left the room clean and very professional. Would highly recommend and will definitely be calling him again to do the floors in my living room and master bedroom. I did go with oil based as opposed to water based polyurethane and a day later there is barely any smell and I opted not to stain the floor and leave it natural and had them use a semigloss sealant. I just recently had my floors sanded by Royal Floor Sanding. My home is in Plainview. Luis and his team came and did a phenomenal job at an even more phenomenal price. Royal Floor Sanding was recommended to me by my brother in law who had his floors done in Wantagh. After seeing my brother in law's floor, I wasn't sure I could afford the cost, because his floors were immaculate. He insisted I call. So I did. Luis answered right away. I had already received estimates from a half dozen other companies that did work in Plainview. They were all friggin expensive! Some charged as much as $4.50/sq ft. I needed to repair the floor where we expanded entryways. Some places charged ridiculously high for that as well. We also needed to do stairs. Stairs, I've learned is a completely different beast as it requires individual hand sanding. Royal Floor Sanding came and gave me an honest quote. By this time since I had already spoke to many other companies, I could tell Luis knew exactly what he was talking about. We weren't sure what the floor would look like. We just purchased the home and the previous owners had covered the floors with carpet and tile. Thankfully the floors under the carpet were in good shape. A few water spots, but otherwise in good condition. Under the tiles were black adhesive that was difficult to take off. I really didn't know what to expect. There quote was reasonable. At this point if you're reading this, you owe it to yourself and just call them for an estimate. So we decided to go with them. They came as promised. Luis brought two guys with him. Also great guys that get things done. We wanted to keep the floors as close to natural as possible. After the initial sanding I realized the floors were in perfect shape and didn't need any staining. And when it came to staining they had every option you could imagine. The repair work was done seemlessly. Seriously. You really can't tell the floor were repaired. Before moving into our new home in Deer Park (July '19), we wanted to get the our wood floors redone as it was very worn & not-so-great stain color.
