Well 9:00 came and the guy pulled up. My wife came to get me and I said she should greet him. So she went downstairs but Fred was rocking out to a book on tape, but because he didn't respond to her, she had assumed he was finishing a good part. So she went back inside and waited for the call/ring/knock. After 12 minutes after our appointment, we watched him drive away. No phone call to us. So we called the company (wondering if it was even our plumber) and he answered quickly - he was quick to tell us that he was the man who had "waited two minutes, knocked on the door and rang the doorbell. [He] left his card." It wasn't his curt delivery alone, but the fact that he was also quick to say: "Would you like to reschedule an appointment?" Because we missed your narrow window of effort within 12 minutes?! That was my cue: we had (supposedly) inconvenienced this man for 12 minutes too long to deserve his expertise. I responded in the same curt, short manner: "We'll find someone else. Thank you, though!" We investigated and did find his card on our doorstep. Tested the doorbell, too. Worked. Somehow we missed each other. And we can claim each other at fault (he didn't see us and we didn't hear him), but at the end of the day -- business is his to gain, not the customer. Kindness and patience can go a long way to keep a company friendly and competitive. In short - Fred may be the master plumber, but we'll never know because he doesn't want to give his customer any benefit of the doubt.

Lucky's Sewer & Drain installed a sump pump for me for a rental property. I was not available to…read moreoversee the work. However, they tied the sump to the plumbing stack so it drains to the sanitary sewer. This is a direct violation of local codes and ordinances put out by the city of Saline, MI. Additionally, they installed a water heater for me (which they are trying to claim they never installed) and never pulled a permit for it! I found this all out months later during a rental inspection and reached out to them regarding the issue. They have been screening my calls since my request of documentation of permits pulled and receipts for the work. The company claims to be licensed and I will be filing a complaint with LARA to have their license revoked.

I went to my handy dandy guide Yelp to find a reputable plumber/plumbing company. I looked at a few companies and opted for WaterWork Plumbing based on their Yelp rating and location. They were rated a 4.0 out of 5. They were located in a neighboring city. I called on a Friday afternoon and was given an appointment for Monday. No problem! To my surprise, I received a callback that a plumber had become available and could come right then. I was excited to get my toilet situation addressed on the same day. Mark was the dispatched plumber. He was on-time, professional and knowledgeable. He was able to change my push button flusher to a traditional handle one. He also replaced the cap and hoses in the tank to prevent a future call. He even adjusted my water valve to the proper level to have the toilet fill back up quickly. At some point, someone had dialed down the water causing it to fill up slowly. Mark was the man for this day for me! It was the answer for the problem and he was able to eliminate future problems. This was worth every dime that was spent and they get five stars from me. I also have added them as a contact in my phone should I need their services again.
