While disappointing results can sometimes happen, what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

I can't even get it fixed because it is so much shorter than I wanted. There are huge "texture" discrepancies all over my hair, the most obvious being in the back near my neck. There's also a strand of hair far longer than the entire length of my bob cut. I don't even understand how this happened. I'm so traumatized. I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare. And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Please do yourself a favor and find a salon that can do a nice cut for long AND SHORT hair. WITHOUT A PERM TO MAKE IT ALL STRAIGHT FIRST. The skill level here is just so sub par. I could have done it myself.

I was a bit disappointed to see that it looked nothing like the picture and it was fake rose petals which I thought was weird. I'll give them an A for effort though although it looked nothing like the picture. The massage was amazing. She did a really great job. Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

I had my eyelash extensions done here and had the absolute worst experience Ive ever had in my entire life. I've been doing lash extensions for a few years, so I consider myself a pro in how they should look. I unfortauntely was in a rush to get them done before my trip the next day and JJ eyelashes was booked, so I came here. Avoid the technician who put them on me, - she is late 40s-50's, and from some state in the middle of America, forgot what she even said. And the owner herself was also rude. The technician was friendly in the beginning but when i opened my eyes i was shocked! 1) The lashes were all over the place, with large spaces in between them! Not professionally done at all. She claimed I didnt have enough lashes there, but as shes telling me this, I'm clearly looking at my natural lashes in between the gaps! 2) The extensions should be placed at the base of the lash line. She put some half way on my natural lash, some a quarter way up - it was all at varying lengths! It looked as if I had them on after 2 weeks of growing them out! Not a natural lash line at all!! 3) They told me prior to my purchase, that my set would be 60 lashes per eye and this was no where near that. To prove my point, I actually counted them at 35. She even told me to lay down and she herself counted 40. Unbelievable. 4) When I asked her to put additional lashes, like we agreed to, she was SO RUDE. She fought me tooth and nail. 5) She tried to charge me extra to put additional lashes in - then the owner herself came over and was also rude. I had to explain to the the owner the issue, then she agreed to not charge me, reluctantly. 6) They ended putting only maybe an additional handful in. Still not as advertised. They told me I don't have enough lashes. Meanwhile when I go elsewhere (like JJ eyelashes) I get 90 lashes per eye - easily! And they are all on the base of the lash line. What angered me the most, was just how she didn't own up to her lack of quality job. And then she was so rude about it. Even after she agreed to put additional lashes, I could tell she was so angry and her hands were shaking the whole time on my face, as she's putting the glue on my eyelid. I didnt even want her to touch my eyes again!!! She is emotionally and professional unstable, unprofessional, and has a bad attitude. This establishment is terrible. They truly do not deserve the business. Go somewhere else!!!! read more

I have been coming to Bernice for hair extensions and eye lash extensions over a year now. I first came upon her while doing an internship in New York summer of 2014 and wanted to give eyelash extensions and hot-fusion hair extensions a try before a trip to Miami. Being completely new to this, I scheduled my appointment using the wrong lingo and arrived around an hour before closing as scheduled; while explaining to Bernice what I actually wanted and realizing I had a flight in a different state within 9 hours...I didn't think it was all possible! Bernice being the loyal stylist and genuine person opted to stay and install a full head of hot fusion hair extensions (I have mid-length hair and installed long hair extensions taking about 4 hours?) with finally being done around 1:00am!!! I was so excited about my new look that I didn't even care that I had to commute as soon as possible to catch a flight within 4 hours in Philadelphia. Needless to say, I have continued to come to Bernice for both services ever since, even while living in Philadelphia. For the last year, I found her service to be so honest that I made the commute once or twice a month to her salon. I am now living in NYC and continue to get my eye lashes and hair done at Royal Hair. So I give Bernice 5 stars for being committed, loyal, honest, and a true down to earth person (along with the rest of her employees), which is something I find extremely tedious and hard to find in New York. read more

Why did I wait so long to get extensions ahhhhhh ‍ ?!!!! I was reluctant to give extensions a chance because of horror stories I've heard but I'm sooooo happy I did. I've gotten micro link extensions twice with Bernice and I couldn't be happier. The quality of the hair is subpar and they blend in really well. They are virtually undetectable. Maintenance seems to be a breeze as well. These were my main concerns and Bernice was patient and informative throughout the whole experience. She is honest, charismatic and really seemed to go above and beyond to get me the look I was going for. I will probably be adding some lighter strands for summer instead of highlighting my hair to avoid damage. This is a beauty game changer. read more

I am extremely disappointed !!! I made an appointment with them about a month ago just so I can guarantee the date and time of the appointment because I am traveling the next day and it is also my birthday so I wanted to make sure everything was set. Today I show up for my appointment just to find out that they are closed and apparently they have stopped working on Saturdays 2 WEEKS AGO. It is understandable that the company chooses to be closed on Saturdays but a phone call would have been extremely helpful, I could have changed the date and time, but of course I had to find out the hard way. read more

I get eyelash extensions here, and they are AMAZING! Star is fantastic!!!! She does the best job. I absolutely love her work and recommend her to all my friends. Star can do a full set of lashes in 45 minutes to 1 hour. The lashes last for 3 weeks - at minimum. Thank you, Star! read more

Scheduling was challenging from the start, and Mahesha arrived an hour late on the day of my appointment. Since I'd paid a deposit to book this special request slot on a Monday, I waited alone in the hallway with no access to the salon or place to sit until she arrived. When we finally began, I noticed several issues: Mahesha had colored more hair than necessary, despite my clear instructions, and dyed the hair in a rush last minute, despite having the hair nearly two weeks in advance. The hair she returned to me, some still suspiciously wet, was so damaged it was unusable, a loss of $200. At the end of the appointment, I noticed the sew-in was done so hastily that braids were left hanging out. I actually had to ask her to sew some of the braids at the base of my neck back in before I left. After the appointment, I also noticed that a piece at the front of my hair had been accidentally cut very short, and before I'd even washed my hair, parts of the sew-in were coming undone, so much so that I actually had to order a kit online to re-sew it myself--a first for me. When I reached out with video evidence of the damage, Mahesha dismissed my concerns, telling me to 'just wash and brush it out,' as though the hair hadn't already been washed and handled. She did not offer an apology, partial refund, or future credit and only proposed having me watch her rewash the damaged hair (which I knew would've done nothing since the hair was in serious knots, thin in sections, and the damage caused the hair texture to completely change). This was new hair. I was so excited this past year to have thought to found a great stylist in my neighborhood. I had previously recommended Mahesha to friends and coworkers but have since shared this honest feedback. With the high cost, I expected a much better experience and am deeply disappointed. I won't be returning to LaBella Pearl.
