    Roach

Warning. Do not stay at the Royal Inn on High School Road in Indianapolis Indina. They are roach invested, bedding and towels are not clean at all. Management is very unprofessional and refuse to refund my money.

    Bed bug

Me and my family came to stay here while our apartment was getting renovated. My dad booked a week before and the room we booked was one room with two beds. Prior to staying here, we didn't do our research about it, bad idea. First of all, when my mom went to check in, they denied her entrance and stated that my dad needed to be there in order for her to get in our room. However, the day before, my mom was there when my dad was talking to the people in the screen and they said it was okay for my mom to check in by herself. It wasn't until later that my dad came to talk to the person in the screen that we managed to get a room. He wanted a refund, they said no however, he managed to get us a room regardless. When we got to the room, to our horror and surprise was a disgusting, cheap, and definitely not worth the money paid, looking room. We were distraught. All that hassle and all that money for something that looksike it's not worth $400 dollars. This wasn't even the room we booked and we had a receipt with proof of our room. During our stay, I got bit by a bed bug. Multiple times, on both of my arms. The worst part is that I had no idea until it was too late. On that same day, someone tried to break into our room because they were looking for a person named Eric. They knocked on our door twice and when there wasn't an answer, they used they key card to get into our room. Luckily my mom was still in the hotel and was behind the door. A lot of the neighbors also seemed sketchy and we didn't feel safe where we were. In conclusion, me and my family got scammed. Beware.

I saw this. When I called my corporate office about the roach he said don't check in. He was too late. I'd already done it. I spoke with the guy behind the counter and he smiled and said no refunds. My boss said leave anyway I'll figure things out with them. He moved us to a motel 8. Much better place.

    Stained and destroyed bed.

Worst hotel I have ever encountered. Absolutely no refunds for any reason. Enjoy the stench.

Expedia awarding me a coupon for twice what I paid for the room, due to how poorly they treated now only my fiancé but also Expedia

The King bed room was $249 a night before taxes, parking, etc for a final $1,098.27 for 4days/3nights and roughly $80 of that was from food and beverage bled to the room. The service really stood out from check in to check out. Everyone from housekeeping to the front desk, was friendly and welcoming every time I passed by or needed anything it was a great encounter. It was every staff member. I chose self parking in the garage over valet. Plenty of parking and easy to access. The restaurants are good. I frequented Loaf + Vine Market quite a bit, along with Starbucks upstairs, then High Velocity, and the lobby bar. Nice to have solid options right in the hotel. The room felt luxurious with great amenities with wood accents in the foyer, floor to ceiling windows, a safe, mini fridge, full size ironing board, great bathroom, plenty of hot water (32nd floor), a nice desk area for working, and a good size TV. The workout facilities were great too with water and fresh fruit provided. No downsides during my stay. Overall, really impressed with both the service and the experience. Would definitely stay here again.

We were steps from restaurants, bars, shopping centers, and the convention center, with Monument Circle and Gainbridge Fieldhouse just a short walk away. Perfect home base for a downtown trip. Real talk on the room: ours started off rough. It felt dirty (found some remnants in the toilet) and the AC wasn't working right. We asked about switching rooms and the team handled it immediately -- the second room was great and made the whole stay so much better. The staff here genuinely stands out: friendly, kind, and accommodating from check-in on. We were there over a weekend, and it does get busy. Expect a wait for the elevators and a crowded breakfast during peak hours. But the free hot breakfast was solid -- good food and a nice variety -- and things mellowed out on weekdays. Spacious suites with full kitchens are a big plus for longer stays. Bottom line: a few cleaning and AC issues at first, but a responsive staff and unbeatable downtown location make this an easy recommend. Will be back.

Just a few steps to the main monument in downtown. About 20 minutes to fountain district or the canal. Staff were very friendly. Our room was decently spacious. Nothing crazy but we were able to leave our suitcases open on the floor so that's a plus. Our room was clean and cleaned the one day we were there (2 nights). Bed was comfy no issues with that. The pillows were flat to the point that they must be fucking with me. I mean the minute you put a human head or anything with any weight on it, the shit would collapse to nothing. Does anyone like this? I had to literally fold my pillow in half to get any lift for my head. Please get new pillows. The towels were plentiful but a little rough. There was no blood or bodily fluids that I was able to detect. The shower pressure was FANTASTIC. The sink pressure however was not good and who knows if the tooth paste actually fully rinsed from the brush. The temperature was also all fucked up and had no clear relation to the position of the handle. One moment the same position would be scalding and the next, ice cold. I would like to be clear that this was for the sink faucet only. I did not hear the noise the other reviewers complain about despite facing the gainbridge fieldhouse. Not perfect. Not the four seasons but would definitely stay again.

They will add $100 "hold" to your card on top of your stay price when you arrive which isn't noted anywhere on the website. The ac system is so loud you will feel like your next to a jet engine as it turns on and off throughout the night. Shower had no hot water. I called down the room service and she tells me that she's going to send someone up, twenty minutes later I called down... and she says, come on down, we're just going to change your room. I get all the way down there, just to move 2 rooms down after packing everything up and going down eleven floors, instead of them bringing ME up a new card for a new room. That is poor customer service. Let me be clear. They were not busy. I woke up at nine a m with a paper under my door. I received a charge of $585!!!!! Now let me just tell you, i went in my room and went right to sleep, because I was exhausted for my day of travel. This letter told me that I had been smoking in the room and charged me this amount. I immediately called down a customer service and was told that they would take it off when the manager came in at eleven o'clock. I was somewhat relieved at this, so I went on with my morning and got ready and went down and waited. The manager assured me that they would not charge my card and that I had not been charged yet. They went ahead and charged my card for the room. I checked my card and I had only been charged for the room and a $50 charge for a deposit. I left and went on with my day with a receipt, feeling confident that the manager had done her job. A couple hours later, I looked at my bank account, and I saw that I was charged after all . $585!!!!!! More . 4 hours later! I don't know if she thought I wouldn't see it or what! I called and she swore to me that I was in charge. So I sent her a snapshot and called her a liar. So then she told me that it would be removed and it would take 5 to 10 days! Can you believe that? They charge my card for something.I did not do five hundred and eighty five dollars and then tell me, it's going to take five to ten days to remove it! To top it off yesterday, i opened my bank account to see another $530 charge! This hotel has charged me $125 for a room, $54 for deposit and $530 that now they are SWEARING they have not charged me and calling ME A LIAR!!!! Let me be VERY CLEAR.... LET ME BE VERY CLEAR THEY HAVE CHARGED ME $1,294 !!!!!!! Seriously!!!!! THIS HOTEL HAS COST ME $300 IN OVERDRAFT NOW. I filed with my bank so they have put a stop to it. I want everyone to know how bad they are!!!!!!

There's a lot of construction going on in the area so a lot of remodeling going on in and out of the hotel. Additionally, I had researched a king room, but they said there was a block of rooms that mysteriously showed up taking away my room and me and my wife had to settle for a double. I settled for some points to makeup for the "error". I'm also used to have a doorman at major city hotels of which there was none and so we had to rely on the kindness of the valet to get us a cart and helpunload all of our bags. On a plus side, the rooms were clean all the amenities worked. The bathroom set up was a little odd, however with the toilet right under and adjacthe sink so I can't say I've seen that one before. Also some standing water in the shower when in use. However, I did sleep very well. The blackout curtains were excellent then AC wasn't annoying making tons of noise. Finally, the presidential breakfast or whatever you call it area was nice as a sharply dressed, older gentleman, assisting patrons and helping keep the area clean. And also the hotel gym was pretty good with plenty of space and decent equipment. Overall, I wont book here again, but it's not a bad hotel just a little below the normal Marriott standard I'm used too.

Our suite was plenty spacious and had a fun urban/industrial vibe with exposed brick. The bed was more on the firm side, but that is my preference anyway! If you don't wanna go anywhere in the morning, they did have a complimentary breakfast, but again it is so perfectly located between tons of great restaurants. My only knock was that the customer service experience at the desk was a bit different between the night staff and the morning stuff. The young woman who is working overnight, seemed very preoccupied and slightly annoyed when I had some pretty basic questions. This was completely contrasted by the young woman who was working in the morning. I saw her going above and beyond whether it was making sure the trash left for breakfast was taken care of or checking us out. Having worked in hospitality, I understand that anybody can have a bad night, but overall our stay was great and we would definitely recommend this place for anyone coming in town from one of the major events or anyone just looking to have a fun staycation.

I was in town for a conference, and last year I booked a hotel two months before it and my hotel was about a mile away (oddly enough, a Hampton Inn co-located with a Homewood Suites), so this time I booked in January. Customer service here was superb, from start to finish. After checking in, I received a text asking how everything was going, and during my stay I was able to send follow-up texts if I had questions or needed anything. In addition, I was able to borrow/sign out an umbrella one day when it was raining - there's a $25 fee if you don't return it that day, but it's a very nice service they offer. I realized I forgot a shower cap one day, too, and the front desk was able to provide me with one. Pros: -Huge and unique rooms. The building is from the late 1800s and has been repurposed into this hotel. I think my room was bigger than my first apartment! -Nice sitting area with a couch even though I had a king studio suite. Huge kitchen with full-size fridge and freezer, plus flatware and even cooking utensils. -Large bathroom area, although no bathtub, just a shower. -Free breakfast daily, and they even had almond milk and oat milk for cereal - I have to drink non-dairy milk exclusively and hotels rarely have it available. -Free cookies at front desk -The staff was super friendly, when I returned every day from the conference I was welcomed back Cons: -Very few from me, but: no safe in the room -Towels are small but that's normal for most hotels nowadays -Wifi was a little wonky - on my computer and work iPhone it was fine, and also fast, but on my Android/personal phone, texts were delayed. I'm going to chalk this up to my phone being weird. Overall I LOVED my stay here and would 100% stay here again. If you're in town for a convention, it's only a two-block aka five-minute walk to the convention center, too, which was great.
