I was asked to leave so she didn't have to "hold" the dog any longer, she said "he's getting heavy". AND THIS WAS THE STORE STAFF !!!!! I just finished a spa treatment across the street and had to Uber home. I waked to the door and the dog was AT the door. The staff lady was sitting down, she looked up at me and motioned "you need something"? Yes,'I'd like to come in. She gets up with an attitude- picks up the dog. I enter immediately grab my bottle - check out PAY, and begin to order an Uber home on my phone. She walks up still holding the dog and says "you looking for your car?, No, I'm ordering a Uber. She then says, can you do that outside, cause this dog is heavy. It's 95+ degrees outside. I say yes, i'll leave. And in my mind - NEVER TO RETURN. read more

So nice of a place, great ambassador for craft wines and spirits. The place is clean and bright, never too busy, and usually has something new to try. The staples are there obviously, but the owner really built up a custom array of products that are a step up in quality from the mass produced products. The Tequila and Mezcal items are what really comes to mind. And then the wines are from all over the world, and labels that you're not going to see at the grocery store or 7-Eleven...have never been disappointed with anything I have gotten at Royal Liquor. They are also very very Dog friendly, and sometimes they have their own dogs hanging out! And the loyalty program for some perks! So I am not one to write many reviews. That being said, I just want to say "Y'all this place is awesome!". For anyone who has lived in the area as long as I have remembers the old place. In fact the last time I went to this location was prior to COVID. Since I have become a recluse and have stuck to places that I know will have what I like in stock so I can go in and out I haven't ventured outside of my small bubble. Well today I stopped by on a whim because I didn't want to deal with Kroger. Immediately I was greeted by not only, who I assume to be the owners, but also their sweet dog Jersey. The establishment is so clean, organized, and bright. The prices are right on point as well. I have since moved off of cedar springs and now live in the medical district. However, the customer service (friendly, asking names, and saying hello and goodbye with a smile) ensures that I will be back. Even if they are priced higher than another place (which I didn't notice), I highly recommend Royal Liquor. On top of all of that, you support a local business. In fact, one that also supports the community, both here in DFW and across the seas! They have also dumped all Russian products. Yes they lost money, but In talking with the owners/management you know it doesn't matter to them because they care! Please support this local business as I will be doing the same as often as I can!!!! Oh and if you give one star because of the rewards program... go somewhere else. You can go anywhere and find some sort of rewards program, but you won't find the customer service! read more

My go to for all things spirits in the Dallas area. Leslie is incredible and knowledgeable of a variety of great new brands and spirits. Plenty of warehouse liquor stores with generic brands all over Dallas but it's refreshing to see a local mom and pops that really care about the brands they carry. read more

Royal is one of my favorite places to shop in Oak Lawn. They have such a well-curated alcohol selection, so I always end up buying more bottles than I had intended! I love the shopping experience there too. The owner Lesley is so lovely - she gives awesome recommendations, lets us taste new offerings, and values loyal customers (she has a loyalty program that gives members access to hard-to-find bottles). Nice place and good allocated selection but, need to be part of the rewards program. I see in the comments that it's free to join. If that's the case would've been nice to have the employee ask me to join seeing how interested I was in the blantons, weller and elijah. Whatever loyalty or rewards program they have implemented is worthless if they continue to only provide a limited selection of over priced alcohol. I had been coming here for years with the previous owner, and he offered all kinds of good options at good prices. When new management took over, I asked if they would continue to carry the vodka at the price point I had come to expect from this location and nearby competitors and was flat out point blank told "No". Great customer service! So I haven't been back since except once. I've been going to Goody Goody or Total Wine and More in the same zip code, all with excellent loyalty programs, and with decent vodka such as "Classic Club" or "McCormicks" for $5.99 or $6.49. The one day I decided to return here to see what they had to offer after not being back for months, the best I could find was "Russian Value Vodka" at $8.99. I don't care about the quality of my vodka because I use it as a mixer, and I am certainly not going to pay 25 to 30% higher prices for inferior vodka when there are literally much better options a mile or two down the street. Trendy cute logos and marble countertops don't matter worth a damn if you are over charging your customers. read more
