Came in on a Saturday around 1ish to shop for a house warming party.. when I walked in, I wasn't greeted but honestly no big deal.. I don't think they do that here. I walked straight up to what I was looking for, but to my surprise they were out of the flavor I needed. I walked around some more to see if maybe they are in another area but didn't find anything. So I walked up to the front to ask, and it turned out they do have more but they are alllll the way at the top lol! The associate told me that she would get someone with some equipment to get it down... So then I start the wait game, atleast 10min. Go by then another 5 or so go by, I see the same associate walking around, smiling with coworkers, while I stand in the same place waiting on her. Needless to say NO! she did not come back, to check to see if I had what I was looking for... I had to go and walk up to her again to ask if anyone was coming. Smh. She walked away to get some help, but not before telling me that someone did get the liquor but got the super big bottle instead.. but if that's the case.. why didn't anyone say anything and just let me stand there! So eventually they came with the machine and got the liquor down. Honestly it could have been an in and out trip, but instead I was inside probably 20min. Or more. Yes, ofc I'd go back because I always have a good / alright experience... but I'm going to stick to the other location instead. read more

First off - the staff. So well staffed both in number (employees are EVERYWHERE!) and in service/care to guests. That is an enormous thumbs up in my book. Second - the selection. Bar none, the best from spirits to mixers, alcohol-free to THC-enhanced...they have it all. And, at competitive prices. Love it that they deliver! read more

Very clean store, tho much smaller than the others around the DFW complex. Being smaller, it seemed a bit more confusing trying to understand the layout of the shelves. Leaving Total Wine in 2025 My husband and I have had two extremely disappointing experiences at the Total Wine location on Oak Lawn. During our first visit, my husband asked an employee for assistance locating an item. The employee responded in an unprofessional and inappropriate manner, stating, "If you get your lazy ass down here you can see it's here." This language was completely unacceptable. On a separate visit on New Year's Eve, while checking out, the cashier requested my ID, which I provided. She then asked for my husband's ID, even though he was not making the purchase. He explained that he did not have his ID with him, as he had joined me on the errand at the last minute. The employee stated that once an ID is requested, everyone must show one and informed him--rudely--that he could not remain in the store and needed to leave. When I addressed the employee's tone, she responded by saying, "I could have been ruder." Both interactions demonstrated a lack of professionalism, courtesy, and basic customer service. These experiences were extremely disappointing and have led us to discontinue shopping at this location. read more

Only at Total Wine is it faster to leave the unattended online order pick up line, shop for your items, and pay, in the time it takes the store to finally help one person in the online pick up line. All while multiple employees at the registers with zero customers do nothing to help. Also decided to leave the online pick up line when the one employee (who was actively doing shopping instead of handling customers already on site) skilled those waiting at the front of the line and scanned orders for the people at the back. I dropped by after work to get some whiskey for the weekend. Standing in line with 4 cashiers ringing up all the customers. Levi took me to an empty register and rang me up. Very polite, helpful and friendly. I wasn't expecting that. Normally, employees here are good, but Levi went above and beyond and took care of me so I could run the rest of my errands in a timely manner. I will be sure to return soon. Whenever there's a Total Wine in the area, I like to take a look and see what they have at this place has a lot of good options for wine and other beverages. I like their cognac selection and the brands that they carry. If you have any area, you should take a look around way better than the other big box liquor stores. read more

When I shop for wine, I typically look for regions I stick to for the the varietal (e.g.: Willamette Valley for Pinots) and then search for their reviews online. It's time consuming, but generally works well. The first time I visited Total Wine, a very friendly associate must have noticed my quest and asked if I needed help selecting a wine. I normally would have said, "I'm good, thanks." But, in this case, I was already running late, and appreciated the help. The employee then asked a handful of questions about what I liked, and, within 5 minutes, I had several bottles in my price range that I wouldn't have otherwise considered. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS SUGGESTIONS WAS SPOT-ON. I now ask for suggestions each time I visit and have a growing list of new favorites. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The parking is a complete joke. I had an order for curbside pickup. Went by 3 TIMES to pick up and couldn't even get into the parking lot. I finally just went in and found someone to scan the code so they could go in the back and get my order. I had to walk my case of wine across the street and lo and behold they gave me a box that was already opened on the bottom and ALL of the bottles of wine rolled out all over the parking lot. I had been waiting on this store to open so I was happy to see that it finally opened. I'm just going to hit the main points as to why I decided to give this place there stars and move on 1. They dont carry Wycliff champagne. It's a cheap wine I found while having girls night out at this bar in uptown. They had $1 glasses of champagne and it was delicious. I asked our waiter, she showed us the bottle and I've been hooked every since. Its hard to find and I dont always feel like driving to the Specs near north park mall and Goody Goody's down the street doesnt always have it in stock. So I was really hoping this place was going to carry it 2. They require you to take your ID out so that they can scan the back of it. I have two issues with that. First, I wear long nails. And it's annoying when I have to remove my license from my phone case. Plus it fits in my phone case slot pretty darn snug, so I just like to leave it there and people can still see my birth day and information. Second, covid-19 is going on. I have gloves on in the store and I want to touch as FEW things as possible. But no, I have to reach in my purse, open up my cell phone wallet ( touching the straps, my phone and the ID) So that they can scan the back of my ID. They are requiring me to do more work than I'm willing to for a store that doesnt even carry my champagne lol. I wasn't even the person purchasing liquor ( my boyfriend was) and the cashier still wanted me to pull out my ID as well. I'll probably keep going to Goody Goodys ( unless Im at the post office and get the urge for a liquor store run) since they have my champagne sometimes and they dont require me to almost break a nail or contaminate my phone to pull my ID out. If you are planning a party and need assistance, do not go here. I called this location for help in planning a 100-person party, and was placed to customer service. The person (I believe his name was Robert) was absolutely rude and left me furious. First, he was not helpful at all. He did not provide any direction or assistance -- and rather treated me condescendingly. Second, he noted that this store is the smallest store in Dallas and the store could not help me. Exasperated, when I finally asked what he could do to help -- again, he was rude, unhelpful, and had no response. They may be the closest store for uptown residents. But it seems that they take their customer service for granted when it comes to helping these residents plan large scale events.
