This place is what we Bikers refer to as a fleabag. Used to cost $25 and was a reliable place to crash. Now they are up to ~$80 a night. The room was clean (sort of), sparsely appointed. No hair dryer, no shampoo, one ply TP. Most of the light bulbs were burned out. A/C worked very well. Microwave and fridge/freezer worked well. Ice machine was busted. There are a lot of derelict vehicles in the parking area and finding a safe spot to park can be a problem. There are a lot of long term residents here, mostly migrant farm workers four to a room. They were fine and doing their own thing. Gave me a creepy feeling when I first arrived but they are just hard working guys not out to cause anyone trouble. The lady at the desk was fine although she had a thick accent and was difficult to understand. No complaints about the room, the price or the staff. Very handy location if you want to be close to downtown. If you're expecting a spiffy clean, well appointed room and staff that will dote on you, this place ain't it. But if you need a place to crash on the cheap, it could suit you fine. read more

This stank hole ranks in the bottom five of hotels have ever stated. Their credit card machine was "broken "and had to pay cash. The room was dirty it hasn't been updated since it was built. Stains everywhere including a wall of boogers. Many of the residents looked like they were long term and the majority of the chairs were outside on the balcony. Doors did not lock and worst of all it doesn't even have a coffee maker but then again I probably wouldn't of wanted to drink out of it. The bathroom was disgusting and didn't look like it had been cleaned since the last guest was there as there was hairs everywhere. Location was nice walking distance to several restaurants read more

Front desk lady would not have a conversation over the phone and made us come back in after our stay just to repeat herself 20 times, insult us and lecture us. Lied and said we left a mess when we cleaned up after ourselves and threatened to call the cops on us. read more

The good part was the bed was comfortable. No shampoo, no hair dryer. 1 washcloth. The pillows were disgusting. I guess homeless live there. Noise all night long. My little dog who never barks, barked and growled all night at the door. Would not recommend. read more

Wash rag, 2 bath towels, floor mat, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, fresh-wrapped bar soap. Coffee in the front lobby, super friendly responsive guy at the desk, WiFi is open (no password required). If you're looking for a cheap place to stay, this is that. However, for $70 a night I would expect more amenities. Right from the get-go, troubles with booking the room. Was coming in off the highway and had a friend book the room, so that I'd have a place to crash from an impending snowstorm. With credit card payment confirmation and a pin #, I was still asked for a credit card. They did not want to accept the confirmation information. Instead of asking for a second credit card. After having front desk person speak with person who booked the room, they then had two payments and said they would refund my card. Once original person's identity was confirmed. Although they have confirmed I will receive a refund. They also said I would receive the refund Within no later than a half an hour. I'm still waiting and it's been a few hours. I have called the front desk and still nothing. Feeling doubtful I will receive a refund, and may have to go through my credit union. Back to the amenities. Curtains are falling off the rod, broken air conditioner knobs, Outlets that are not finished in the wall, light bulbs out, towels that feel like sandpaper, slow Heat. Would certainly expect much better for $70. You can get more with an Econo Lodge or Motel 8. The refrigerator was not plugged in. But, at least it turned on. The bed seems somewhat decent. Free Wi-Fi, the TV is a flat screen and connect with good picture quality. The microwave works, there is a hot shower and it's clean. I'm not hard to please, I am a frequent car camper and Backpacker. If I'm going book a room, regardless of cost, there are certain amenities I expect to be working and I expect good business. --- UPDATE --- Received refund. No problems. Would have liked to have received a call. But, the fact that it did it and there is no problems with it. Upgrading my one star to 3 stars. Service is everything! read more

I decided to deviate from my normal cities I typically sleep in while making my 700 mile Idaho to Washington trip (Boise, Baker City). I booked the cheapest hotel on orbitz which was at the Royal Motor Inn for $55 for the family. Honestly, wasn't expecting much for that price. However, I was met with a friendly smile at the front office, and upon opening my room, I was very surprised with the tactful blend of new and old decor in the room. It was very clean, smelt good, and was comfortable. Expensive looking thick paisley curtains with new brushes steal rod. Classic looking lamps with a nice 36" flat screen. Old zenith thermostat and new arctic king fridge combo. Flooring was new along with ceiling tiles, and the tub and toilet were a clean Classic 60's rose color. Definitely making this a routine stop! read more

my car broke down and I was stranded in Legrand Oregon. Came upon this sweet motel when all the other ones were way over priced. My room is perfectly clean and I feel very comfortable here. This is a no frills motel but it is well kept and serviced. Ruby the owner is very kind and honest. If you need just a basic hotel room that is clean and tidy, You will be pleased. I'm going to have to stay an extra night and I'm grateful to be staying here. read more

Disgusting! We booked this motel on our drive. It was the only place with a room available, and we had been driving for 14 hours, and could not drive at night. We pulled in and immediately wanted to leave, but the room was non-refundable and after calling around to several hotels, nothing was available. The "visitors" (tweakers) who all seemed to live there were out talking to each other and smoking, barefoot on the asphalt in the parking area. The room was horrible. Stains on the blanket, red stains on the sheets, tattered wallpaper....horrible. We ended up running to Walmart and bought mattress covers. The walls are super thin, and we were lucky enough to hear one of the barefoot smokers/ tweakers laugh and carry on all night downstairs. Don't stay here. Save your sanity. Cheap place to sleep, but you won't get much. If you are a light sleeper like I am, this place is a nightmare. The walls are paper thin. I could hear the alarm clock of the guest adjacent to mine. You could hear the footsteps of the guests on the floor above you. And you can hear the cars outside. Where the beds comfortable? Yes. Will you get a good nights rest? No. read more

Clean - yes. Cheap - yes. I am normally pretty happy if I can get these two linked together in a bargain motel. Unfortunately, there were several things that detracted from my satisfaction and i am not sure I would chose this place again. On the plus side, the room was clean and didn't smell weird, and the front desk was friendly and efficient. One the negative side: - There was no soap in the room. Not one single bar. Not everyone travels with soap. - The towels were very cheap and rough. I know not to expect luxury in a place I paid $70, but I know you can get decent towels that don't feel like sandpaper in a budget motel. Missed the mark here. - TV was ancient. - Noise from adjacent room was noticeable. Again, I know not to expect complete silence, but I also shouldn't be able to listen in on a phone conversation. - My bed was not comfortable. Maybe they haven't upgraded all the rooms, yet, or maybe you get a second rate bed when you reserve through one of the booking websites. I just know I felt like I was sleeping in the valley of the doomed (you know - sagging middle). I have stayed in better motels for less money. I don't think I would stay here again. read more

The price was right, room was clean, and the staff was very nice. The only thing I would mention is that there is not an actual breakfast. We were under the impression that there was, but walked in to only coffee and pre-packaged donuts. There's some great breakfast places in the area though, so it all worked out! read more

Sorry, Tom Bodett. "Clean and comfortable" better describes the Royal Motor Inn than the Motel 6 we were forced to stay at earlier this week. There just are no classy hotel choices in this rural neck of the woods. But guess what. While old, the Royal Motor Inn was very quiet, very clean, and the bed surprisingly comfortable. The ancient knob-missing A/C unit functioned perfectly, and it did an outstanding job of cleansing the air of the smoke from the California fires that blanketed the four states we visited this week. In fact, our room was so clean and fresh, we decided to stay an extra day. (We were, however, disappointed when the maid forgot to bring us towels as requested.) We were charged about half the advertised price for our CLEAN quiet room. Given the paucity of hotel choices around here, I would stay here again. read more

Clean and cheap lodging. We really were only there to sleep. From what I saw of the area, it was worth a 3 star. Normally, in a bigger city, this would be a 2 star place. Continental breakfast was coffee, tiny individual muffins, and bananas. I'm sure it varies day to day but it's not like what you typically can count on. Thin walls but we seemed to have quiet neighbors. They are pet friendly "depending on the animal". Management was kind and efficient. Decent place. read more

This is a clean hotel with comfortable beds. I would normally say it is great for the price ($50/night for two people) except I had an odd experience. My husband and I chose this hotel based on yelp reviews. The woman who checked us in was polite. We walked around the building (the long way, thanks I lack of direction from the clerk) in 21 degree night air. On e we found our room we found the door WIDE open! We called down to he desk to ask if we should be concerned and the answer was a cheerful 'No, we were just airing out the room! Everything looks fine, right?' It was so cold we had no choice but to crank up the heat and go out for a bite. We came back two hours later and the room was still so cold we had to sleep in two layers and our stocking caps! By morning the room was just becoming tolerable! Again, if it hadn't been so cold in the room all night I would have given this hotel a much better rating! read more
