Regardless if this company is BBB accredited, it was not a good experience dealing with one of the movers. We had paid for two guys to come move our belongings into a semi that was being transported by a different company. When arriving, the "main" guy along with his partner did a walk through of the house with my husband when the main guy got a phone call. Homeboy took his phone call out to the street and was literally shouting at whomever he was talking to about another client they had just worked for. This started eating into the time I was now paying for. During the duration of the loading, they took a few smoke/drink breaks which is to be expected when working hard.... but not over ten minutes each for only working a couple hours. And to repeat himself, dude got on the phone again towards the end of the loading which was still in my paying time. At one point during the loading, my husband had talked to me about the amount to tip them, telling me that the main guy had let him know they usually get $100 each. I was pissed.... what company employee suggests that? Since our stuff was being loaded into this semi, there was a barricade we were required to put up at the end of where our belongings were and a latch was needed to be put into place. My husband had asked the main guy to put it up and he agreed to it, no problem. The guy had some trouble putting it up, but nonetheless, got it up. It took about ten minutes to do so. When all of the work was finished, we were 15 minutes behind the two hours we had agreed on so the main guy was charging us for extra time. I normally wouldn't have a problem with this, however, there were phone calls made by the main guy and longer than ten minute breaks taken. When we brought it up to the main guy, his response was "Well, I have to call it in now. I can't tell the boss not to count the extra 15 minutes. Besides, I put up that barricade for you and if this were my company, I would have charged extra for that." What a big mouthed, asking for extra money, douche bag. The other guy that was his partner, was quiet, friendly, on point and hard working. I would have gone off on the guy, but I just wanted to get the hell out of there instead of arguing with an ass clown right before leaving a state that I wanted to see in my rear view mirror. read more

Worst nightmare!!!! Hired Royal Movers to pack one day and move our household the next. We had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau #10164950, Michigan Movers Association, Don Eurich Exec. Manager, Michigan Public Service Commission, Cindy Swix and we filed a police report a month later after Chaz physically threaten me over the phone, after he return a picture he had repaired. Please google, contact these agencies before hiring Chaz and Royal Movers. Chaz quoted a price over the phone CASH or MONEY ORDERS only, which he denied, saying "he never gives quotes over the phone" in his response to the BBB complaint.. They showed up 2 hours late the day of packing, first time we met and they left early. I watched as he dumped business cards and stationary items on top of kitchen dishes he had packed. Have pictures of all their, so called professional packing, they dumped the dresser drawers into boxes, even stripped the draw liners, when they said dressers would be wrapped and moved. They showed up at 9am, with 5 "men" on Sat said we got an extra man free. The extra man was a minor who wasn't old enough for a drivers license. Mid day Chaz cursed out one of the movers on our front lawn and fired him mid move. This was witnessed by neighbors and friends. Which left us with 3 men and a minor the price per hour was for 4 men. It was taking extremely long since we were moving mostly boxes, did not move living room furniture, bedroom sets etc. Was asked what was taking so long , Chaz said he would fill the truck, got an attitude we had our son meet us at the new house. My son talked to Chaz, he didn't seem to happy. Now it's getting to be about 7pm my youngest son called and asked us if we had finished the move, no we were only on the second trip back. My son said he was going to call the owner, which he did. Chaz identified himself as the owner and called my son a name??? My son deals with the public on a daily basis and asked Chaz is this how he treats customers? Ended up thinking he was the son who met him at the house. When questioned about how long it was taking to move us, Chaz verbally attacked my son, said we were "happy as Sh##" and then hung up on him, eventually threatened to physically harm him. Told my son to meet him at the house and he would beat him up, after my son suggested that he was taking advantage of elders. This conversation all happened in route back to the house, when we got to the house Chaz started in on us, said now this was only a "business deal"?? Long story short he said it would only be 45 minutes to complete the move once we got to the old house, both my sons showed up at the new house AT 12:30AM!!!! Chaz would not speak to them, he asked if we wanted our stuff in the garage to save time" we said no. Most of our belonging were put in the basement a TV on the cement floor, boxes marked bathroom toiletries against the wall six rolls deep. We just wanted the move over at 1:30AM they finished, we noticed a cracked glass in a picture Chaz took it and said it would be repaired. We only had so much money as to his quote the day before, where are you suppose to get cash at 1am??? It took weeks to get in touch with Chaz for the return of the picture and damage done to our walls. He agreed to return the picture a month later due to the fact he was too busy and would look at the walls. We arrived one day before the schedule date to find the picture on our front porch. I called to thank Chaz for the picture but what about the wall damage??? He said his insurance didn't cover it and he called me a "M##### F####, Ghetto Trash", and then said he FOUND my wifes bracelet worth $18,000 and he didn't get anything for it????? His verbal rants escalated to the point he was physically threatening, he said "he would come over and BEAT me UP" I said come over lets settle this he was screaming so loud he hung up . At which point my wife and I visited our local police department made out a complaint and were put on special attention. We then filed complaints with the Michigan Movers Assoc., which said this isn't their first complaint against him. My son googled the company 2 years ago he threatened someone else and was accuse of elder abuse, When we filed the complaint with the BBB, his response was he never gives quotes over the phone, his movers "found a $3,000 gold bracelet and my wife snatched it from him he never got a thank you" Interesting the man who gave it to my wife was very nice she thanked him and Chaz wanted to see the bracelet "appraised" it and over the phone worth over $10,000 more than in his written response to the BBB, my question is he was hired to move ALL our belongings why should he get a reward?? We hired Royal Movers to load up a U-haul truck for a long distance move. The owner and his assistant were very professional and we were very pleased with their work. I would definitely recommend them for any moves you have. They were very careful with our items and worked very hard during the time they spent here. I have read some negative reviews about the owner and his attitude. I completely disagree and think he was just a "get down to business" type of guy. read more

These gentlemen did a phenomenal job helping me get my grandmothers house packed and moved. They were not pushy, but asked the right kinds of questions to make the move seamless. When items of value were found in places of hiding they brought it to our attention at once. Advice was given about how to better move items for the sake of safe keeping not for financial gain. This is my first experience with using a moving company and thanks to them I will be using one again in the future. I just hope the next company is as good as Royal Movers. They took 15-20 minute breaks every 45 minutes to an hour. They purposely dragged the whole process out to make more money. I told them I was only moving large furniture before they came. They still brought a truck that was too small. It didn't even fit our couch. Therefore they had to take multiple trips, which in turn cost more money and time for us. They were cheaper per hour, however with all of the breaks they ended up costing more. They also exaggerated the time they started and finished, which also cost us more money. I asked for the owner to call or e-mail me because I was unhappy with the whole process. I didn't hear from them for a week. Therefore I posted a poor review on a website. Once the owner saw the review, he contacted me. He said if I took the poor review down then he would send me a check. I agreed and took the poor review down. I waited two weeks and never saw a check. He only said that so I would take the poor review down. My washer machine also hasn't worked since the move. I gave this company plenty of time and chances to make up for the poor experience. I wish there was an option for zero stars because they are Royal Thieves!!! I hired them to move me and they ripped me off!! The head guy was very rude!! I was trying to explain to him how to move my oversized sofa but he didn't want to listen to me. Instead he got frustrated and left and said that he would refund me my money back since he wasn't able to do the job. This company is a joke. On the day of the move two boys Jason ( J bones) and another Jason came to move us. They were over an hour late and once they got there one of the guys kept on running to the bathroom and they were taking breaks ALOT. Once we got to our new home...once again back an forth to the bathroom and within an hour one of the guys went into the truck to make a phone call. I guess he wasn't feeling good and was trying to get a replacement to come out. SO we started unloading the truck OURSELVES!! For an hour we did it...Then the two boys starting arguing and were about to get into a physical fight because the one guy wanted to finish the job . This moving company was going to move Mom and Dad today. They arrived at the apartment and the bullying began. The price suddenly changed and they told them that unless they did what they wanted my Folks things would be "destroyed and damaged". When they tried to question them about the price change one of the movers became verbally abusive, using the F word in front of both of them. They are 75 years old. He then became physically aggressive with my Dad. He didn't touch him but the threat was there. The other mover was a good guy who tried his best to stop this punk from acting like he was. Very poor- my neighbor used them to move. While they were backing their truck into my neighbor s driveway they drove 3 feet into my yard leaving large tire divots in my new sod. When I called to complain, I was told my neighbor is responsible, not them. They went so far as yelling and hanging up on me and my husband several times. They would not put me in touch with the owner, claiming he was the owner, just to find out that he was the driver who ran into my lawn. Absolutely terrible experience! I had a scheduled window of 1-3pm for the movers to arrive. I received about 8 phone calls from the driver and the person working in the office pushing the arrival time back and back. At 6:00pm the movers still weren't at my home. I missed call on my phone because I was packing. I returned the call within 10 minutes. He then informed me that he sent his people home because I didn't answer my phone (within 10 minutes) to confirm that I would be there when they got there. We were moving part of a large household and had a Penske truck to load along with their truck and we had items going to 5 different places in 3 states. They kept all of that straight and loaded the local items on their truck and helped us get the items on the Penske truck in a way that allowed us to unload as we went without having to unpack everything to get to something in the back. They carefully boxed everything up and after over 800 miles and 4 stops we got everything out of the Penske without a scratch. The local part of the move went equally as well. We hired Royal Movers to move 2 bedroom sets,2 queen beds, 1 king bed, dining room,dinette,living room,family room, desk and garage items. There were NO boxes,appliances or T.V.s. I went through this list with Chaz, the owner, and he quoted $80/hr and to roughly have $650 cash for this move. Two movers arrived an hour late (they did call) After 3 hours they did call in a third guy (this bumped the cost to $115 service fee and 115/hr) They took good care wrapping all the furniture. No damages. The move to the new residence was just 1/2 hr away. The entire move took over 11 hours with a cost of $1234!! I was told by the owner, Chaz, to "let the driver know" of a 5% expired internet discount that he would honor. But at the end Chaz WOULD NOT honor it. At this point I felt we were not treated at all like their ad claims. I got Chaz by phone and calmly reiterated what he had discussed with me and immediately he was rude, hostile and called me a "cheap bitch"! When my husband spoke to him he was even more creative with his slander. Learn from our inexperience. Get the moving company to come to your house and get a written estimate with all the specifics. The movers who worked that day were very respectful but unfortunately their boss, Chaz, is a terrible business man who once he has your stuff moved turns NASTY and DISHONEST! Three guys arrived on time to move my larger items. They were all very respectful, considerate and friendly. Everything that they did was explained and they worked with a sense of urgency, no time was wasted. They were careful with my items, priced well and overall I would hire them again. There were only a few small issues that I noticed after they had left: 1. A large, heavy ceramic pot was left in the front yard and no communication was given as to why--no direction given on my behalf to place it there. 2. One of the movers said he would happily shrink wrap my stove that was going to be stored in my garage. I explained I wanted it completely wrapped in order to keep pests out and he assured me that this would be done--the top and sides of the stove was covered, but the bottom was left completely open. 3. My side door and basement door, which are within a few feet of each other, had to be removed in order to get some of my items in. When the doors were put back on the hinges two of the pins were mixed up. The pins were different sizes for each door and it was obvious that they were not on correctly because one stuck out at least an inch from the bottom. I also have door saver hinge pin door stops attached to the hinges and due to the side door being attached with the wrong pin, when I opened my door I punctured a hole in my wall. Used them 03/06/16. The owner Chaz used to be a friend. I called him to move me from lincoln park to woodhaven. I would strongly suggest not to use this company. After they loaded the 1st truck everything was going good. Once they got to the woodhaven house they told my wife how they couldnt get the dressers up the stairs. Made one attempt with one dresser and gave up. My 65 year old dad came over and me and my dad took off the railing and showed them that the dressers would go up. So i and my dad moved 4 dressers up while the movers we paid were just throwing furniture everywhere to hurry up and get the job done. My mirrors that connect to the dressers are still laying on my floor because they movers lost all screws, bolts, nuts, hinges, to where i cannot put my furniture together. I called the owner and he reminds how this was a bad idea and how cheap i got the service for and it should have been a 2100 dollar job. This company isnt insured even they say they are. My sons dresser is split down the side. One mover named dave was a good man who actually off the clocked came back and tried to help the best he could but could only do so much seeing i was missing the bolts etc to put stuff back together. They lie, they break things and are not professional movers. Chaz the owner does not drug test and has a vicodin and coke problem hisself and his movers if you pay attention will pop pills on the job and smell like alcohol. If you care about your belongings pay the more expensive route. Ive known this guy for 16 years and he has always had a drug problem and hires people that get messed up on the job. The 2nd load they made to my old house which was only boxes and they said they had to leave stuff behing to where about 7pm me and 3 other vehicles had to go back and pick up the rest of our stuff. Now i have boxes, unassembled furnityre laying all over my house to where i had to miss work and kids had to miss school because it got to be so late where our bodys had to stop. (Wyandotte, MI) BEWARE! The owner, Chaz, will milk the clock like a true pro! They take a 15 minute break every hour and a half! He is very pleasant and likes to talk, which he will do alot of, instead of moving your belongings and being considerate of the clock! He quoted me $125 per hour on the phone but at end of day he charged us $135. We argued at the end about what time they showed up; We had a different time than they did. They showed up with a truck which was way too small, and announced they would require 2 trips....ofcourse, more hours!! I fed them breakfast, lunch, and beverages; his workers were very pleasant and nice, and said thank you, not Chaz. I have moved alot in the past 8 years and have never experienced these "breaks". We were told a worker had to go home ill due to a seizure the night before, however when Chaz, the owner, showed up to replace him he boasted how the worker was drunk the night before and he was going to give him the month off. Unprofessional! Once we realized they were milking the clock and told us they would be there till 7:00pm we decided to move all of our outdoor furniture ourselves! They finally showed up, hurryingly completing the move. They gave us a good discount but got it back from us when one of the "supervising' employees stole a small bag of silver coins I had hidden in a drawer. so disappointing. We were quoted one price and had to pay almost $400 more. They took several brakes to prolong the time. Had to call dispatch for everything that also prolong the time. Left to put furniture back together because they did not want to listen to instructions about the furniture that would not fit. They also purposely passed the location and prolonged the time another half hour. A move that has taken 2 1/2 hours took 8. They also forgot my red tall lamp on the truck and didn't tell me until we were back at the storage bin, so I had to leave it in storage because they were going to have to take 20 mins to call dispatch then charge more to take it where it was supposed to be moved. Chaz (apparently the owner) is the worst kind of person imaginable. When I called Royal Movers for the first time, Chaz acted polite and professional. The craigslist ad had a deal for 3 movers and a truck for $85/an hour. I told Chaz that the loading bay at my apartment building has a 12 ft 6 inch clearance and we would need a truck that would make it in. He said he had been to my building before and has multiple "$50,000 trucks" and would be able to accommodate. He said that even if the truck that he sent didn't fit he was confident they could make the move work, which was fine by me. I had my freight elevator from 1-5pm, and we have a 2 bedroom apartment. The guys showed up on time, and came do to an inventory of my place. Nothing out of the ordinary in my apartment, we have a small bar with two stools that 2 guys can pick up. I bought the guys Gatorade and water just to be nice. As the workers went down to try and pull the truck into the bay the 18 year old kid (owners son) mentioned the bar might be a "specialty item" and they would have to call in and check to see if I would have to pay an extra $75. They "called it in" and told me that I didn't need to pay extra and that they would "do me the favor" of moving it. This is where the nightmare began. The truck did not fit into the loading bay. The guys said they could still make it work but it would take longer, and I was totally fine with that. I never complained or mentioned anything about money. I already had my house all packed up when they got there and wanted to help instead of standing around. They told me I couldn't help carry things with them for insurance purposes (which is understandable) and that they couldn't use the large rolling concierge carts at my building for the 30 or so totes we have (again because of insurance). I didn't make any noise about any of that and was extremely polite to the workers. They said I could carry things to the elevator if I wanted but couldn't go in the truck which seemed reasonable I guess. Initially I didn't feel like there was anything going on, until I saw how slowly they were moving. Instead of one guy moving things from the apartment to the elevator and loading the elevator and two filling up the truck, all 3 would get on the elevator every time and disappear for 20-30 minutes each load. I didn't mention anything, and I took on the task of moving things to the elevator doors so when they came up they could just fill the elevator and go back down to pack the truck. The men arrived at 1pm, and by 245 pm they had only made LITERALLY THREE trips on the elevator and I was easily working harder than ALL three of them! I still didn't say anything but decided to go down and check what was taking 3 guys so long to take one elevator load of totes and bags of clothing onto a truck. They were gone for 30 minutes for something that should have taken 5 minutes. When I got down to the bay, the guys were standing around smoking cigarettes. When I walked up to them they told me they didn't feel safe and one guy allegedly fell because it was raining and the ramp was wet(which is understandable). I expressed my concern for their safety and didn't even say anything about how slow they were moving. So I told them nicely that I have the elevator from 9am-1pm the next day and maybe the best plan would be to get the other truck and start fresh tomorrow. They said they would have to check, and weren't really sure. So I told them I would call Chaz because they all seemed very hesitant to make a decision. This is where it gets CRAZY. I called Chaz and literally the first words out of his mouth were "what do you want David" which I thought was strange. I told him we were having some challenges with the truck not fitting and his guys not feeling safe and that one fell and they didn't want to work in this condition. He immediately started to yell at me and berate me as if I was lying to him. I told him the guys were right next to me and to call his employees and figure it out because they hadn't done anything for the last 40 or so minutes. He called them and they talked where I couldn't hear anything they were saying. One of the main guys came back out after they talked and said Chaz was calling me. Right then my phone rang and I answered and the first words out of his mouth was to scream at me "I DEAL WITH CHEAP MOTHERFUCKERS LIKE YOU ALL THE TIME" and CUSSED me out and hung up on me!!! His own workers were standing there looking at me while my jaw dropped. I was blown away. I immediately thought this guy is psychotic. My initial instinct was to call the cops, but the workers actually started to seem reasonable and said they would talk to him again. After another 20 minutes of them trying to talk to their owner, the final determination was that I needed to pay them right then $800 flat rate or they wouldn't move another thing. HORRIBLE!!! INCOMPLETE MOVE!!! RIP OFF. On 1-22-2012 this company moved my salon equipment to storage 1hr into the move they took 15min break and then a 10 min break an hour later. Then they tell me everything can't fit so they need a to make a second trip I refused. I told them they are suppose to be proffessionals they should have known that they needed a second trip when they assessed my items before putting them on the truck. I had to tell them how to pack the truck so everything could fit and it worked. We get to the storage unit I had to again tell them where to place the few things they did move in I had to stop them because they were very incompetent on how to pack the items effeciently and they were also moving very slow. I had to stop them from moving in my items. I had to move the majority of my items in to the storage unit myself they started @ 10am and not even half way finished @3:20p. When I got back to my salon I realized the bag of salt they were using was mine that they open and took and then they told me if I want it I have ti pick it up. Royal Movers quality of service is horrible, slow sluggish workers, incompetent on moving, thieves,and workers are disrespectful and after talking with the owner the apple does not fall far from the tree but he's worse very unprofessional, disrespectful, When me and my 6yr old picked up the salt from the business the next day the owner unlocked the door and his place of business smelled like marijuana I knew this was not going to be good he said nothing I said my name is Mrs. Williams. I called several times left message about the service I recieved yesterday he said yeah I know and I know who you are I then precede to tell him what happend and he immediately over talked me he heard nothing I said he gave me know eye contact, he got upset and started cursing @ me right in front of my 6yr old and told me to get out his shit now and fuck me when this took place I told him I was reporting his bussiness and he does not have good business etiquette. I'm a bussiness owner myself so I highly believe in good customer service and my reviews prove it. He does not return calls, there hours are from 8am-8pm 7 days but they are never there or answer calls. The company name should be changed because they are very far from royal delivering. I will be contacting the better business bureau tomorrow & local news. From the looks of this company reviews they will not be in business long. read more
