this was my first time moving cross country (from CA to MI) so i had no prior shipping company experience. i got quotes from different vendors and u-pack was the most affordable option i found (about $5.5k for 3 containers). the containers were smaller than i anticipated (the sizes are on the website but i overlooked it so that's my fault) but they ended up fitting everything in my 2 bedroom apartment. i also really liked that they took care of dropping off and picking up the containers in both locations and all we had to do was fill them up. customer service was very helpful and professional and im overall very happy and satisfied with their services for my first out of state move. will definitely use u-pack again in the future if i have another long distance move. read more

I've used UPack twice now for cross country moves. They are extremely easy to work with and the customer support is great. When I moved the second time, I didn't hesitate to use the same service, knowing I wouldn't have to worry about the process or my things. Getting an estimate, making a reservation, pick up/drop off, and payment are all very easy to set up with their system. As far as I'm aware, this is also one of the most affordable companies to move with (when I priced renting and hauling myself, it was not cheaper either). We vetted probably five moving companies before making our way from Detroit to Seattle. Upack got the pod there in almost half the time every other company quoted us. Nothing in our pod was damaged after moving almost all the way across the country. Everyone we spoke to along the way from the Detroit Warehouse to the Seattle Warehouse to the guys who came and dropped off and picked up our pod, werer just fantastic! I can't recommend these guys highly enough, and they were completely affordable for this type of service. ------ Got original quote less than two weeks before our move. Scheduled drop off in Detroit with 24-hour notice. Pod arrived in Seattle in 5 business days, mind you we moved over Thanksgiving weekend. Overall, using Upack for our cross country move was a good experience. Compared to the other companies that provide this same service, the price was significantly less and there was substantially more space in the trailer. We received our trailer on the 7th business day after pickup. My biggest complaint is that I initially paid for 16 ft of space, but the tracks to lock in the bulkhead are not spaced every foot, so I had to secure it to the 17 ft mark. Because of that I was charged for 17 ft of space. 4 stars mainly because of this. I would recommend them to my friends and family. This next section is an amendment to my previous review. Customer service at Upack read this review and promptly contacted me regarding the issue of being charged for the additional foot of space. They are refunding me the additional money. I am very pleased with their customer service and the company overall. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of moving service. read more

Terrific customer service from the start. The u-pack team is thorough, the ABF drivers, dispatch, and text reminders along the way were all professional and helpful. For a cross country move the price cannot be beat if you are willing/able to pack and load up the trailer. If you need a cube/pod or a little more, this is the best way to go, you can pay by the linear foot for what you use in the trailer. 17 linear ft = $2,600 for this FL to MI move. Tip- pack the trailer high to use less linear feet and Use tie downs to secure the load as you pack. We will certainly use this service again. read more

I recently used UPack for a Michigan to Florida and the service was exceptional. The pods were placed exactly place where needed, a one car driveway, by the delivery person. Picked up on a Tuesday, I was able to schedule delivery with Orlando hub on Friday of the same week as needed the following week. I have some regular package deliveries that take longer than that. Regarding the containers, they are well constructed and definitely water-proof; our were subject to near constant Michigan rains for 3 days. Highly recommend and shoutout to Dawn at the Romulus location for excellent customer service when I did contact them by telephone. read more

Upack was a great option for us to get the contents of a storage unit shipped across multiple states. The delivery of the trailer, pickup after loading and delivery at the destination was event free and as agreed. The cost was very reasonable comparatively with the current state of prices during covid for moving and transport. We saved several thousand dollars over using one of the national moving brokers. We used Upack twice in the last 3 months for a move from Michigan to Florida. It was great to know that if we didn't use all of the space we wouldn't get charged or if we needed a few more feet we had it available. Customer service with the 800 number as well as local terminals were friendly and helpful. The truck drivers were pleasant to work with and did their best to park the trucks were we needed them. The deliveries for both containers arrived a little earlier than the estimated lead time but they were flexible with our schedule to deliver it when we needed it. I highly recommend them! read more

Used them to make an international move to Canada. Customer service was excellent (great communication with useful info and website allows you to track your stuff) and my belongings arrived when they were expected. The drop off of the trailer at my place in Canada was 45 mins earlier than the scheduled time, but it was not a problem and the driver was super helpful with getting my stuff off the trailer in subzero temps and snowy conditions. If you're moving to a city with limited street parking, be sure to look into contacting your public safety office for them to block off part of the street (usually need 24-48 hours notice) so that UPack has a place to put the trailer. Upack's prices were much better than their competitors. You might need an additional set of hands to help you with the bulkhead in the trailer and getting the ramp out because they can be heavy and cumbersome. Overall, highly recommend! read more

We have used U-Pack three times in the last 6 months. They have always been helpful and willing to work with us in setting up times and dates of delivery as well as going above and beyond to help out. The fees are always fair and they don't give you a hard time when you have a coupon!! Sean, with ABF, at the Taylor MI location was spectacular!! We made a mistake and locked ourselves out of our trailer. We called that evening and luckily got ahold of Sean. He stated one of the drivers would swing by and open it up for us. Unfortunately the driver couldn't make it so Sean came to our house that evening and unlocked the trailer for us! Sean went above and beyond for us and we can't thank him enough. The U-Pack experience has been great because of people like Sean who have been more than willing to help. It seems like customer service has gone down the tubes these days but dealing with U-Pack and ABF has been a reminder that there are still companies who care about their customers!!! Ok, so moving here from New York to Michigan then comes the day where the truck must be here within a 4 hour time-frame and aww wouldn't you know it, "I am sorry but we have no drivers here to take your items to you". This place will want to make you dispute the transaction i do not recommend this company to anyone they are not reliable and they do not deliver on time. I made sure to call them 3 days in advanced and i was promised my items were to be here on the 26th and now i get a phone call stating, "we are sorry but we do not have drivers". Just a heads up to all the moving companies and that is stay true to your word on when ones items will be delivered, If i can give this less stars i would because this company deserves less for their poor delivery as well as horrible customer service the receptionist sounded like, "I need a new job" well i am surprised this company is still up and running. Also, stay true to what the customer is receiving instead of sugar coating what is not there (i.e. Get a wider ramp for your customers!!!!!!) and most importantly and i cannot stress this enough DELIVER ON TIME, poor excuses will not be tolerated by an over worked customer who is in need of their belongings. read more
