Unfortunately, I will not be frequenting this location anymore. This has been our go-to nail salon since moving to Ontario four years ago, and until yesterday, I had always enjoyed the service. Despite the continued price increases over the years, we remained loyal customers because we valued the experience. Yesterday, however, the business decisions and customer service were extremely disappointing. My husband and I came in requesting two pedicures. We waited less than five minutes before being seated. While they started my pedicure, my husband's feet were left soaking as he waited for service to begin. Shortly after I was taken in, additional customers arrived and were immediately attended to before my husband, despite the fact that we had already been seated and waiting. It became very clear that other customers were being prioritized over him. We consistently purchase deluxe pedicures, not regular services, which made the situation even more frustrating. After two other customers were taken ahead of him, and nearly 30 minutes had passed since my service began, we decided my husband would no longer continue waiting. As we were leaving, we were told that the other customers had appointments. That explanation made little sense considering no one communicated that to us beforehand, nor did anyone think it inappropriate to leave someone soaking in water for almost half an hour without service. This situation was poorly handled and extremely disappointing, especially as longtime loyal customers. read more

I've had my nails done since I was 15 years old. When I moved to Upland I looked around for a place that would provide quality service, high quality customer service, and great prices. I am blessed to have found Royal Nails. Jenny is the best and she always make sure that the customer leaves feeling like a guest in a home. They are always quick to accommodate whatever design or style you would like, their time is efficient, and their customer service is beyond anything I could have ever expected. The nail tech was super nice and made sure I was happy with the color and the whole set which I was . Service was nice she was just a little too rough and fast in a rush it feels like . Once I told her she was too rough she did ease up on my nails though so I appreciate that . I only did not quite agree with the pricing . They charge extra just for cuticle care and trimming . I thought that use to Be all included not extra . I normally go To a nail tech at her house but she is about to give birth so I had no choice but to Come to a nail salon and the same amount I would pay her I get all cuticle care and trimming and cleaning up the cuticles by hand instead of them Just drilling at the salon. I won't be returning only because of the pricing and quality . I will most likely just go back to a nail Tech that works from Home close by they have more time and better pricing . read more

This has been our go to spot, but unfortunately that might change, as they did a very bad job in serving us. It was just me and my wife waiting to get a pedicure, as soon as two spots opened, they sat us down. They started on my wife but were waiting for the next worker to be free, so they can start on me. Upon waiting, 4 others walked in, and completely ignored the fact that I was still waiting, then proceeded to help the other 4 instead, while I was waiting. I honestly didn't mind not getting a pedicure, so I just decided, that wasn't the right thing to do, and just got up and decided to go outside and wait. I'm just disappointed that they decided to help others that had just walked in, instead of me, after waiting 30 minutes. read more

It was my third visit here and I love how my nails turn out! I just got a full set done by Emma (it has been years since I got a full set) and she was so patient and friendly. She is also talented! She did exactly what I wanted from a picture I brought in. I am so happy with my St. Patrick's Day inspired nails! Everyone is friendly and talented as well. They accept walk ins and appointments. I love the way they were so accommodating. It was my first time here and a little nervous but I needed a new nail salon well they did not disappoint. I love the way Tony did my nails! Came in for a quick nail fix and since I am from out of town I figured it wouldn't be a costly issue. After going to another salon who wanted to charge $20 for ONE nail fix I was irritated. Everyone was super kind. They upfront told me it would be $7. Offered me coffee and took care of me right away. Thanks to them I was good to go within 10 minutes. When I am back in town I will come here, indefinitely! read more

Tony is the best. I only get the gel manicure but he is meticulous and doesn't cause any pain when he does cuticles. I can't speak for acrylics because I haven't gotten them but I'm sure he's great. I've had pedicures from other members of the staff and they're good too and not that busy usually. read more

I went for a fill yesterday. Unfortunately Emma wasn't available I still stood for services. I did not like the way it came out. So instead of complaining about it, I figured I'll just suck it up come see and pay Emma to fix them. So I called this morning(2/11/26) about nine ask for Emma they said she would be in but not sure the time. So that kind of made it hard on me bc I wanted to come in the morning but didn't want to commit to a time and be late. Appointment was set for 1030 I arrived late 11. Now there has been times where I have set an appointment with her and I have to wait bc she took a walk in before my appointment so I have to wait on her. It happens great work. But today she was upset and instead of them telling me to come back bc she has someone else, they wanted to put me with someone else. And I said why is Emma not available? She started with well she waited on you for an hour, I was like wait if she's busy that's fine you could have said that and I'll come back, but then I asked when . Emma and the front spoke in their language and told me to come back at one when the place was empanada she always takes walk ins. I told them this is not rt I use to be a regular! I'm done with their charging me different prices when they want to. Oh and only use the Tuesday 10% whenever they choose to. Depends on who's working that day! They want to say that's only for your birthday? Please ask for all pricing before saying yes bc you don't want to be surprised with the last little extra 7-30 bucks extra. Disappointed sorry I'll choose loyalty and honesty over work ethics.. .. I think they should automatically tell you the price when they talking about designs .. It's like they are all the same. Amazing experience! I took myself and my daughter to get gel x nails and pedicures. We didnt have appointments but were taken right away. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Prices are what you would expect from any salon but the treatment you receive is top tier. Small little shop with wonderful employees. I cant wait to go again. read more

Bad manicure the lady rushed it . She Didn't properly remove the gel she buffed it out instead (the easy way to get me out ) instead of soaking the gel off, even after I asked . So then because I decided to not get gel polish they wanted to charge me $10 to do the gel removal after I clearly asked and looked at the pricing . it's not even busy so I don't understand why she rushed my manicure . $108 for two kids' pedicures, one kid manicure, and one classic adult gel pedicure. They charged $10 more bc the kids requested to use more than one color. The nail tech ignored my daughter when she tried to tell her that she was applying the wrong color. I told her, and she wiped the color off with the towel staining the skin around the nail. The appointment was for 2 manis and 3 pedis. After they finished my toes, my nail tech walked off and didn't come back. I waited a while and decided I was done and paid. **update**I got a call from the same front desk saying they have a video of me leaving without paying. I told them I inserted my card to pay. I even took out cash to give the nail techs a tip even though I was not satisfied with the customer service. She said no, you need to come in, and we can discuss your review. So I had to change my plans to come and pay them. Let me be clear, the nails were good. The manager did call later to apologize. I do feel bad leaving a bad review, but this was my honest experience. read more

Went with my boyfriend to get our toes done...the gals were nice but too much in a rush...slipped our shoes on smearing all nail polish, no top coats and toes chipped the day later. I also noticed nails didnt seem trimmed and really shaped. Eyebrow waxing was great so that was for the stars. But will not be returning. read more

I normally don't write a review unless it's something positive. But I came into this place. It's my first time. I watched them mistreat another customer just because she came in to have them fix something that they didn't do correctly. They ignored her and left her unattended with her hands, sitting in acetone for over half an hour. She was crying and in tears, and everyone walked past her they're even talking about her and laughing at her in her face as I sat there watching I felt Disheartened because if they would do that to her, they would do that to me. I watched her being ignored with her hand soaking an acetone as new customers came in being offered water, coffee, etc., and being treated with care. I think that every customer deserves to be treated the same a lot of times people walk out, not happy with the service and don't say anything because they don't want to accept anyone. It takes a lot of courage for someone to walk back in and ask for something to be corrected. I am a business owner so I understand customer service and sometimes it's just listening to someone and giving them that extra time that makes all the difference in the world. This will be the last time that I come here. read more

First time coming and would definitely come back! First thing to mention, the nail techs are detailed and take care of all your needs. They really make sure it is what u like and what u want, completely open to opinions. I wasn't 100% sure what kind of design i wanted for my nails. So Helen had given me options and even did the designs so i can see which one i would prefer. Its not often that nail salons would do that. The service was quick, gentle, and surely worth it! The bottom of the nails were filed clean and Helen understood the problems i had with my previous nail tech from a different salon. I surely walked out a happier camper here! Also, another plus side is they were able to fit in a session for my aunt too. Which was last minute but thats always a plus to be welcomed at anytime! read more

By far the worst nails I've ever got done! I went a couple weeks ago and asked for ombré nails and used the last photo as inspiration and this is what I got. This is far from ombré, I was so embarrassed to walk around with these I went elsewhere a few days later to get them painted over. The shapes are uneven, some are more pointy others are slightly more rounded and some of the nails are just completely crooked. There was also color on my fingers that she didn't bother cleaning off. I had her try to fix the thumb but it was worse. If the nail tech was unable to do this design, I wish she would have said so, I would've just requested to paint themsolid color. You could tell by my facial expression that I was unsatisfied so she offer to put a rhinestone on each nail as if that would make them look better, I declined. I was charged $72 for this mess. That was the first time I had been there, and I will not be going back again. read more

I've been going to Royal Nails and Spa since the spring. I was looking for a place that did structured gel manicures, and I read good reviews. The reviews were right. I had several great manicures here, and I love the Gel X type products -- they are much gentler on my nails than acrylics ever were and my nails are long and strong now. Danny is now my go-to nail tech. He's meticulous. He works to get the shape of your nails consistent, asks questions to determine what you like so he can deliver exactly what you want. He's truly an artist and a professional. My last couple of visits, I've requested nail art. He did a 3D flower with a rhinestone in the center that was still perfect weeks later. He suggested a marbled design, and I got tons of compliments. This time, I came with a photo for inspiration, and he did his own take on it -- turning the glam way up. I have been coming here for the past 2 years and the service has always been great until today. A gentleman did my pedicure which was awesome no complaints. However Tina did my nails and I asked for an acrylic ombré and it came out horrible 2 of my nails came out completely pink no ombré. One of my thumbs is more square than the other she did a rounded square instead of just square. She asked me what shape I said square. Also the front desk lady was rude she tells me at the time that I'm paying that the tip is cash only and that I could use the atm. So I take out the tip on her arm machine then she tells me why didn't u take out the full amount in cash and since I will be paying the service on card they only give me half points and they prefer their customers to pay cash only. I was never told that from the beginning of my service this place has changed the service sucks and I will not be returning. read more

When you first walk in you're greeted, if you'd like anything to drink and asked how everything was when you're done. The pedicures are one of my favs esp with the paraffin wax. A couple of recommendations: Make an appt if you can because they do get busy especially on holidays and weekends. Have an idea of what you'd like but understand that sometimes the photos you bring are AI generated :) They have an array of color choices and if they don't hve exactly what you are looking for (which is rare), they will fins something similar. Presently they have super cute fruit gel colors and are often doing their own research on updated tips, trends and colors. I go monthly and am happy each time with each tech who has helped me. They couldn't shape my nails round either time, so I had to cut them down super short after growing them for months... I was asked what shape I want? I said round, she did square. I showed a picture of round in case she didn't understand and, she said it was too short to make round, how is that even possible? Also, they grind your nails so far down they thin out... I'm sure it's to save time, but it's truly not worth messing up the structure of the nail. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves... I have a conference next week and I'm very embarrassed about these nails... (yes, they had me pay full price; mani and 2 pedis $108)

The nails are excessively thick, the zebra design looks poorly executed, and the stones on my thumb are dull, crooked, and missing in several areas, leaving obvious gaps. What is even more concerning is that the zebra design on my index finger has already smeared after only a few days. A set of nails at this price point should not be falling apart almost immediately. For $105, I expected professional-quality work, attention to detail, and durability. Instead, I received a set that looks unfinished and is already showing significant defects. This level of workmanship is unacceptable.

The interior and decor was really nice, clean, and spacious. I did the hard gel manicure (by Vivian) & hard gel pedicure (by Holly) that include hard stones which comes with lotion & massage. Holly said that with hard gel manicure it's an additional cost so it would be total of $41. While my sister did the gel manicure (by Gina) & gel pedicure (by Helen) with cat's eye color which has an additional cost of $30. They offered a free drink of your choices of wine, beer, tea, water, etc. which I thought was really nice since I have never seen any nail places offered that before. I went with green tea while my sister went with herbal tea. They were all very friendly and helpful. I felt very refreshed and clean after getting this done. The nails came out pretty, but only thing I didn't get from the manicure was lotion and massage. I just noticed Vivian used the oil to put on my hands and arms. I was waiting to see if I get lotion and massage, but had to hurry up and leave since my sister had an appt after this. When we got the pricing, the total for me and my sister was $236. I wanted to get clarification of the pricing, but didn't have time since we were in a rush. Next time we come, will make sure to do that since I was trying to look at the pricing menu and I couldn't figure it out what the cost to make it to that. However, I would come here again, but make sure they did provide all the services that should be included and ask for a breakdown of the services since no receipt is provided of the breakdown.

Painful, careless, and unprofessional. Do not go here…read more I went in for a builder gel overlay and came out with damaged nails and lifting gel. The worst part was the experience itself. I came in with gel-x on, so a removal was necessary. Instead of a clean removal, the tech, Metta Tran, did multiple (failed) acetone soaks interrupted by filing with a drill. When I asked if she could use a scraper, she said no because "the drill was easier." She then insisted on leaving a thin layer of acetone-treated gel on my nails even after I asked her not to. Throughout the appointment I had to repeatedly ask Metta to get prep and product fully onto my nail beds: I asked around seven times. She even argued with me when I pointed out missed spots, saying "it's just the base, it doesn't matter." The builder gel was applied unevenly and not properly floated - leaving my nails super thin, with no apex, and actively bending. When I said they shouldn't bend and the gel needed to be applied thicker, she told me they "just do them skinny here." She also made me bleed with the cuticle cutter and kept filing with the blood-spotted drill bit. She filed around my cuticles so much I had to tell her to stop. My pinky nail was still bending when I left, and she dismissed it as "fine." After the seventh time I asked Metta to make sure product was on my full nail, she said, "Wow, you REALLY care a lot about detail." I responded, "Yeah, don't you?" Her answer? A casual, matter-of-fact "No." Even though I was outwardly calm, I was completely stunned. I've never heard a service provider so openly and unashamedly admit that they don't care about the quality of what they're charging for. The finished result was lumpy, with flooded cuticles and gaps where product was missed. The nails started lifting the very next day. To the salon's credit, the manager on duty was kind enough to grant me a refund and removal. However, the removal was also done unsafely (she refused to avoid using a metal drill bit on my natural nails) and my nails got drilled down so thin that one started flaking away almost immediately. Hours later, my nail beds are still hurting and sensitive from it. There is also STILL gel left on my nails. If you value your natural nails, go somewhere else. I've spent so long growing out and strengthening my nails, and it all got ruined in one day.

I had such a great experience at Royal Nails in Upland! They truly do amazing work, especially when it comes to detailed nail designs. Every time I go, I leave feeling so happy with how my nails turn out. Emma is my go-to nail artist, and she absolutely kills it every time. She's incredibly talented, patient, and really pays attention to the details of whatever design I ask for. She always brings my ideas to life--even better than I imagine! For pedicures, I always go to Marry, and she is just as wonderful. She's gentle, thorough, and makes the whole experience super relaxing. My feet always feel refreshed and look perfect afterward. I was visiting family in the area for the weekend, and my nails desperately needed some help. I got my manicure done by Linda, and she did such an AMAZING job on them. I got Gel X nails with a design right before Valentine's Day, and she made them look PERFECT, just as I described. She's such a sweetheart, she asked me for my design, and kept asking clarifying questions throughout the appointment to make sure that she would do her best to ensure I got what I wanted. I've never felt so at home when getting my nails done before! It's so sad that I don't live in the area, so I won't be able to come back regularly, otherwise, I would've made them my go-to nail salon. read more

I stopped by here couple days ago for my Pedicure and Nails with designs. I am strongly recommend for all of you must come here to try which is managed under the new owner. The reasons why I want to give them 5 * for a review is that all the technicians overthere are friendly, do the good job, and they have a thousand of different colors in gel, regular, and dipping powder. Our job is just show them the pictures of the nails samples we want, then they just do exactly what we want or more better then samples. Mimi has been doing my nails for some years now. She has become like extended family and she always takes the best care of my daughter and I. She's amazing at what she does, is always patient with my 4 year old and is just an all around wonderful person to be around. I am always 100 percent happy with her work. Came in for a Gel X manicure today and this place did not disappoint! I was seen right away an hour before closing. Sophie took her time and was very kind! Helen checked on me midway to make sure everything was going well. They have a big color selection and I love the way my manicure came out. Very good experience when I walked in they welcomed me right away and put me in a chair the lady that did my pedicure really took her time and made sure I liked them plus The manager was very welcoming and kind. Tiffany has also done good work for me in the past, which is why this experience was disappointing enough for me to finally leave a review. On May 7th, we scheduled a 6 PM appointment for two people. We showed Tiffany an inspiration photo for my son's girlfriend's birthday nails. She said she couldn't do 3D nails, which was completely understandable, but what was frustrating was that she still proceeded with a design that looked nothing like the photo and ended up messy, smudged, and rushed. By around 7:10 PM, Tiffany said she was leaving. When I finally got a good look at the nails, I told her they weren't what we asked for. Her response was basically that she didn't have time to fix them and that we could just come back the next day. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible because we already had plans. Her response was simply, "Oh well," before walking out the door. We still paid around $80 for a full set that we didn't like and ended up having to go next door to another salon, where she got the nails she originally wanted done correctly. As for my own experience there, Tiffany is my go to and she's really good at what she does (which makes this situation so unfortunate) but the male nail tech who works there is extremely rough when removing gel. He aggressively scrapes healthy nail beds and cuticles with the metal tool instead of properly soaking/removing the gel. Every time I went, I had to repeatedly ask him to be gentler. My nails became very thin and weak from it, despite the fact that I always tipped well. This review isn't out of spite. I just think if a design can't be done, it should be communicated honestly from the beginning instead of rushing through something and charging full price for work the customer clearly didn't ask for. Sadly, after this experience, I won't be returning.
