Came here for the first time, and Danny did a great job with my dip nails. I also requested a brow wax and specifically asked for an eyebrow clean-up since I already have a shape. I've had brow clean-ups done at many other nail salons and have never had an issue. Unfortunately, they essentially waxed off half of my eyebrow , re-shaped it and did not follow my instructions. I knew something was wrong when the woman waxing my brows said, I shaped them- WHY ?!! They did apologize and said they would not charge me for the $13 eyebrow service. However, I truly believe that when half of an eyebrow is waxed off, the entire service should have been comped. If a salon cannot professionally perform a service or follow clear instructions, they should not be offering it. read more

I haven't got my nails done for a year and half. I was overdue to get one. I found this place on Yelp to do manicure & pedicure since I am already having 3 ingrown nail issues so don't want to keep getting them and it hurts! I called the same day to see if they take walk-ins which the employee said yes. I wasn't going to be able to get there till 2 hours later so they able to put me down for appointment anyways. The employee did tell me that if I pay cash there is a discount. Upon arrival, there is ton of parking spaces since it's in a plaza. Also, I was able to be helped right away. Kim did my manicure while Linda did my pedicure. I went with gel for manicure ($35) and regular for pedicure but chose signature pedicure ($75). I am glad they didn't try to upsell me anything or else I would've been super annoyed because I know I want to come in for manicure & pedicure only and be able to just go in and out. They had many color choices, but of course I want something with sparkle sparkle. Haha After being pampered, my nails looked pretty and refreshed. When I paid at the front, they told me if paid in cash I get 5% discount and if I used credit card there would be 3% fee so of course I paid cash of $71.25. I end up tipping them both because they were really friendly, helpful, put some cream on my skin issues from the ingrown nails, and made sure I was okay. such a bad experience, i've been here once with a group of girls and really liked it I decided to come back alone for a basic french tip they kept asking if I wanted gel or powder I wanted neither so I responded regular polish, she said no to pick one and I told her again that I wanted neither just regular polish. I can tell she got annoyed, she then proceeded to tell me it'll be 10 to 15 mins, as i'm waiting they get a call from a customer whose asking how long for a basic polish they told her to come in right away they weren't busy. still unbothered but wondering why i'm still waiting when a customer comes in and she checks in then gets seated within 2 mins as I had already been waiting for 10 mins. My go to girl is Linda- she does an amazing job with my ingrown toenails, it never hurts, its relieving. My toes always feel better after and look beautiful!! I have been a customer/client of Venus nail salon for several years. Christy previous owner sold her salon very recently. I decided to make a nail appointment within a week of the new owner taking ownership. I cannot even rate my experience less than a zero. The new owner who I booked my appointment with never asked me what I wanted. She cut my nails down so short and decided to use a liquid gel instead of acrylic. Each nail was shaped different. Two of my nails were almost pointed. She never considered the fact that perhaps I would have appreciated anything similar to what I walked in with which was ombre with a hint of Unicorn to give my nails a fun pop. For years, I have been showing off my nails and have been complimented so often even after three weeks. My nails were ugly immediately during and got worse the second day. This experience at Venus nails kept me up all night and embarrassed. I drove around immediately after looking for a new salon. Call it a miracle and a blessing that I found Christy and was able to have my nails completely redone to perfection. The atmosphere at Venus salon was very depressing to me. Not just all the changes but the vibes were more than I could bare. I left the salon feeling so disappointed and most importantly was that fact that I allowed this experience to happen without saying anything until this moment. Venus is a smaller boutique nail lounge in the Senor Baja plaza. I called on Thursday for a Saturday morning appointment for two (my 3yo daughter's first time). The owner and staff were very organized, diligent and sweet, especially to my daughter! They have a big inventory of OPI, a ton of dipping powder, and lots of choices for gel. My mom and I have been coming here for years, and normally the quality of service is excellent, however, today I booked a gel pedicure and had my nail burned from the use of the nail drill. You can absolutely feel the indentation from how over drilled one part of the nail is compared to the other. Once I realized how tender it was I asked to no longer get color and just have the pedicure done. I was still charged the full price for a gel pedicure and I still tipped for the service, and all I was told was that they'd never seen anything like that before and to go to the doctor. I made an appointment through Yelp both times. Communication was prompt. I showed up on time and was welcomed in. Everything looked clean and well decorated. The staff was dressed in matching shirts and aprons, very uniformed. They check temperatures and make you wash your hands. After washing my hands, I was handed a huge selection of polish colors. FIRST VISIT: 5 stars The pedicurist was very gentle and and took her time. Before starting, she showed me a menu with pedicure options and prices. I don't remember what I said yes to but I think it was a basic pedicure with gel polish. My manicurist was also very polite. She took her time to make sure my nailed looked perfect. I asked for acrylic but she kinda nudged me to get Gel X. The Gel X is durable with perfectly shaped tips so it's worth it. I paid $96 total. A little pricey but I assumed it was due to the Gel X. Overall that trip deserved 5 stars. SECOND VISIT - 3 stars Made a Yelp appointment again for Saturday morning, was one of the first ones in. Friendly staff. Serviced by different manicurist and pedicurist. I opted for acrylic because I didn't want to spend as much as I did last time. Then selected a deluxe pedicure ($38 I think) and was told gel polish was $15 more. I could've selected the basic pedi at that point but had already said okay. Pedicure experience was nice but I felt her scratch my toes a bit when filing. I felt my toes sting a little too whenever she put any product on them. I have two little cuts on two separate toes. *see photos Also noticed that one nail (on hand) is slightly slanted. I know most probably won't notice it but I notice each time I look at my hand. *see photo This trip my total was $108.
