The woman doing my nails was on her phone the entire time. She got lots of nail Polish random places on my fingers nowhere near the nail and clipped it off. She frequently cut too deep and did not listen when I asked her to stop (likely because she was on the phone) the "massage" at the end was extremely painful, she used her nails to dig into my skin and left red marks which are still present now (about 10 minutes later) as well as had many rings on. She used one hand only for everything, or had the phone held to her ear and only could use one hand effectively. It was an awful experience and I will never go back here. read more

I wanted to use my nail color. I have done that in another city. At the other salon, the topcoat was a type of gel so the polish stayed on and looked good a long time. When I came home I asked about it at a beauty supply, bought the product. Went to Royal Nails, asked if they would apply it. They agreed. I agreed that I would accept the job if it didn't work. My nails were finished, (though not to the standard of other shops) my top coat applied. Then-she wiped over the top of every nail, with something. It was remover! My nails were ruined! She said, "See, it didn't work." Very unprofessional!! Cruel. She could have told me that they wouldn't use my product or charged me extra. Never going back for any service. Pedicure was bad I redid the Pedicure at home afterwards because my heels still looked rough and the paint was not coving the entire nail on half of them The woman at the end grabbed my purse without asking from my lap and put it on the ground next to drying area....Gross! Great experience all around! I'm traveling for work and this nail salon is near my hotel. It was an easy walk and they were able to fit my mani/pedi in right away. Both services were done well and I'm happy with the results! If I loved around here, I'd definitely come back! read more

I've been here a couple of times to get gel manicures which have only been okay. They are the only location open on Sundays nearby. I will not be going back. I called to make an appointment last Sunday only to be made to wait 45 minutes in a chair while my gel polish was "soaking off." After 45 minutes I walked out. Never again. read more

I was able to get my royal pedi ($45) which includes hot towel and hot stone massage right away. No pressure for manicure. Chairs are in working condition and I was pleased with my pedi. My one complaint is I feel like the nail polish choice could be a little bigger. read more

This was my first time at Royal nails and probably my last. It started out really good by me calling to see if I could be seen right away and the owner said yes. I had no wait. The owner who was the only manicurist did my nails. She was sloppy with the polish and burned me with the Dremel several times. She also scolded me for wanting my nails short and explained that it is very difficult. I wear my nails short and have never had a problem with anyone doing them in the last 5 years that I have had my nails done by a manicurist. New place close to home. Decided to splurge on a pamper treat after rough holiday. Took 11 year old daughter who decided on French manicure instead of pedicure upon are arrival. The woman working with child would not accept that we decided manicure INSTEAD of pedi... must have asked 12 times if she wanted pedi too- then there would be discount. "One service NO discount." I just moved to MN and was looking for a new salon, because I loved my old one! Royal Nails reminds me of the one I left back in MA. Good quality, relatively cheap price, good service. I get a pedi and a gel manicure costs $55. Very friendly. It's close to work, however my work location is moving in the next couple of months. I give this place two stars: one for the cleanliness of the salon and one for being open on a Sunday. The manicure I got today was completely rushed. I got at most a five second hand massage. The woman asked me three times what I wanted and each time as I began to speak, she hurried away and would then ask me again only to rush away when I was answering. I asked for three coats and she questioned me as to why I would need that. This was not relaxing in the least. She used the grinding tool on my nails to the point that it was so hot it hurt/burned. Definitely not what I am used to. My regular salon would never rush a customer this way. read more

I had a fill for a pink and white and I'm super disappointed with it.. You can see where they cut back the gel from the first one under the new layer of gel., the nails are really thick and uneven. there are literally dips in my nails. the white tip doesn't even go to the edge of my nail and you can see they didn't do a job shaping the tip.. its all muddled and crooked.. I guess in end, I wont be coming back. I came here on a referral and I'm not impressed. considering I just paid 40 bucks for a fill I would expect better.. These are now my nails for my wedding, and of course the most messed up hand is my left. cant wait to see the mess in pictures with my ring. read more

Today was my first visit to Royal Nails. This is definitely going to be my new go-to. The staff was really friendly and the pedicure I received was great. I did the $35 pedicure (there was a small extra charge on top to remove the gel polish I had on - it took a lot of effort, so I felt it was very fair). A couple regulars came in while I was there and you could tell they really liked their technicians. "Kim" was my gal and I will ask for her when I make an appointment in the future. read more

I received a gel manicure here for the first time. I ended up waiting around 2 hours on a Saturday without an appointment. I do understand that it gets busy on weekend days, but what I was not impressed by is that we were told to come back in half an hour after our first time arriving, and then still ended up waiting around 2 hours more in the salon once we came back. I would've preferred we been told either a correct time estimate to come back, or that there weren't any openings that day. The manicure was not good, the cuticle cutting was quite painful compared to other manicures I've received and my nails are not symmetrical or all the same length. Additionally, the polish on the samples doesn't match the actual color once it's on your nails. Overall, not the worst manicure I could have received but I certainly wouldn't recommend it and won't be going back. read more

Said no chairs available and let a lady in who came after me. I made an appointment. Then said won't do my nails. I stood there dumbfounded. I said so no woe will do my nails? She said no one. I was getting my acrylics done and I had already waited almost an hour to get started when the technician put my nails on without cutting them and went to the bathroom for about 15-20 minutes without communicating anything. I would give a 0 if I could. I am a 17 year old girl and this salon is the worst salon that I have ever been to. I have been getting my nails done since I have been about 6 and have NEVER experienced something as terrible as this place. I've been to this place more than once and have never had a good experience, but this last set of visits were just unbelievable! To start it all off, my friend and I went in to get new sets of acrylics which we were told would cost $20 with the student discount. A few minutes into it, the price changed to $30, my friend didn't even bring that much money so told the lady that she couldn't do that. After 5 minutes of YELLING at my friend and making comments about how "she needs to stop acting like she's in the hood" my friend got tired of the racist comments and walked out. I stayed because I did bring extra money. I asked for a nude nail with sparkles and somehow ended up with BLUE MARBLE. Not even close to the picture I showed her but I paid (it ended up being $50) and left. NOW! It came time to get them taken off a few weeks later. I walked into the empty nail salon with my mother and asked to get my set taken off. I got the same lady that put them on, and right before she started taking them off she asked why I had waited so long to take them off. I proceeded to tell her that it had only been two weeks and I need them off for a sport. She threw my hands onto the desk and began to fight with me about how long ago she did my nails. I just told her it didn't really matter how long ago I was here and asked her to take off my nails. She was very rude and harsh with my hands to the point I had to ask her to stop. Another lady noticed that things weren't going very well and came over to start a conversation with me and my mom. She was very nice and seemed really interested in the things I had to say, and all seemed nice. They were asking me things like the high school I go to, what sports I am in, if I had a job, if I had siblings, etc. Some of their responses started making me uncomfortable because they would look at each other and laugh, smirk, or roll their eyes. I stopped talking and she eventually asked me to go wash my hands and I was finished. When I went to wash my hands they asked my mom how old my siblings were, when my mother informed them that they are all in their 30s they replied with, AND I QUOTE! "Oh, so we were right. She is really spoiled then." My mom was taken back by the statement and just stood there in disbelief. THEN she said, "You know, a spoiled brat kind of thing." THAT IS NOT A WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS! Not only was this lady racist towards my friend, talking trash about me and her the entire time after my friend had left, laughing at me, gave me the completely wrong nails, charged me $50 instead of the original $20, and made my hands bleed...but now she called me a spoiled brat! And to top it all off when I went to pay for taking the nails off and didn't tip her, she continuously pushed for a tip. After the fact she called me a spoiled brat. Oh, and the nails are ALWAYS thicker than a sausage stuffed omlet. If you want a good experience and good looking nails, DO NOT GO HERE! But if you absolutely must, ask for the youngest girl. I don't know her name but she is in her 20s maybe 30s. She's the best you're going to get there. read more

I was all ready to have a mani-pedi when I witnessed something out of the 1960s! The receptions told the women of color in front of me that there were no more openings until the following day. When I challenged her, she started winking and gesturing to me as if to say, "come back when she's gone." It could have been the fact that she had 3 kids with her --although they were the most well behaved kids I've seen (way more than my own). Or, maybe I misunderstood but I felt dirty after the experience. You be the judge! read more

The people there are very nice but it is extremely hard to go to a place that is unreliable with time and doesn't take appointments seriously. Today they ran out of hot water and my feet were in a bowl of cold water and luke warm cloths as they didn't have any hot ones available. They also took their own tip out of the change they should have given back and let me leave the tip.They try hard to accomadate everyone and in doing so only do sub par on their regulars. I was polite about asking for a specific shape & for her to fix a couple of things but could tell she was annoyed. A friend and I walked in Friday afternoon to see if they could accomodate a mani-pedi for each of us. We got in immediately without a reservation. $39 for regular mani-pedi, 60 for pedi with french tip nails. Price as fine. My main complaint was the complete lack of customer care by the older man who did my nails. I understand that language can be a barrier, but I expect friendliness or a smile from a service industry. This guy was rough with the cuticles - I even said ouch out loud once. He seemed impatient, uninvolved, not focused on customer service or care. The guy got bright polish on several spots on my fingers. The nail beds were not evenly painted. I can do that good. I don't get nails done often, but I expect more of a professional finish. I was disappointed in the mini leg massage too. Nothing was relaxing about it. My friend said she felt the same with her technician. They were there to get the job done, not to make their clients feel pampered. I have been other places where the atmosphere in the shop was more welcoming. No one was smiling, not even the clients. While the place was new and clean, the fluorescent lighting overhead did not add to the ambiance. read more

Made an appointment. We got there 15 minutes early and checked in. At our scheduled appointment time a group of 7 arrived for their appointment time. They were seated immediately. Since there were only 5 techs working- we cut our losses and found another place right down the street with no wait and no appointment. Appointments mean nothing here and there is absolutely no urgency. Go to Nails 3000. They saved our girls day. read more

I thought I would give this place a shot after reading the reviews, some good some bad. The place was really nice and I got in right away before a rush. The ladies were super nice as well. However that is where my good experience stopped. The quality of the service could have been far better. I had a mani/pedi done and I could have done a better job at home with a pumice stone and my own nail polish. I still have dry spots on my feet which has never happened before after a pedi. Then my manicure, my nails were not even shaped, they look as if I did them at home other then the fact I could have shaped them better. Its now been two days and my polish is already chipping and that is a huge disappointment for me because I feel like most of the time salon polishes last longer than the ones I do at home... :( The polish not lasting is not their fault. I have to say I have had better mani/pedis in my life and I will probably not go back because there are other nail salons in the area. I think I may still be in shock from my visit here. They are a new salon located by my work so I thought I'd give them a shot. I've had pink and whites for almost 10 years and I am not super picky, which is why I'm willing to try other places for convenience. First of all as she started my nails I commented their fill price is $6 overpriced compared to other salons including the one a block away. She gave my comments to the owner who tried to tell me pink and whites were "very difficult to do" and "they do very beautiful work here" and "nobody does pink and whites anymore, it's only gel". None of that made any sense to me. I was very nice and simply told her I just thought she should be aware of what their competition is charging because they are new. She then offered me a $5 "discount". Still more than a I normally pay, but I appreciated it. Unfortunately the very nice girl doing my nails did not know what she was doing. I felt she tried to talk me out of pink and whites at the beginning and I believe she knew it was not her strength. Hands down worst fill I've had in 10 years. Weird color, bumpy, all nails uneven, white uneven and varied thickness. I've never seen anything like it in my life. I still tipped her well because I truly felt sorry for her, but I did not like her telling me that any flaws were not her fault. She blamed the fact that I had tips on some fingers and real nails on others. She said in those cases you can't make them all look alike. Whaaaat? That truly proved she needs more training and should not be doing this service on customers. And for the record, I was there 1.5 hours and I was the only customer. The pedi girl was hula hooping while I was in there. Sorry Royal, but I think you might be in some trouble. read more

My boyfriend surprised me and brought me here for a pedicure. I changed my mind and decided to get an acrylic full set. At first I was indecisive about whether I just wanted regular French tips or an ombré French tip. I was not being a hard customer whatsoever. Fat forward to him shaping my nails. I asked for an almond shape but, he gave me a oval. I asked him if he can fix them. He harshly threw the nail file on the table, gave a sigh, and shook his head. I'm shocked! Like is this guy serious? At this point I'm like whatever. I'm not going to let it bother me. When it came time to pay he says the total is $45. $45?!? When the services menu says $25 for an acrylic full set. He says he charged extra for getting white tips, almond shaped nails, and for the gel top coat. He never discussed with me the additional charges while I was getting my nails done. And he has the nerve to give me attitude like I can take $5 off. As a first time customer here I was so disappointed in the service. I would never recommend it to anyone, EVER. read more
