I was a walk in appt on a Thursday afternoon. Very clean and well put together atmosphere. Was greeted promptly and then was registered in the system after finding out I could get a gel manicure. I was asked to wash my hands!! Very nice touch. Gel colors are CND, a brand I like and they have a wide array of colors. You can tell all tools are actually sterilized by the pouches they come in. My nail tech was friendly and did an amazing job. No electric tools were used. All nails were shaped perfectly and the polish application was on point. My only gripe would be it takes a little longer than I'm used to. But with that being said I will take that due to the quality. Price wise about $20 more than my other establishment. But my hands were so moisturized as well as my cuticles and it was worth every penny. I will be back!! read more

Love! I am a first time customer who found the entire process to be seamless. I downloaded the app, made a reservation and was able to quickly book an appointment knowing exactly my total cost. I had Natalie who provided a lovely gel pedicure. One thing to note is that there are not massage chairs like typical nail salons but that was not a deterrent for me. From what I am gathering, the polish and lotion are natural unlike other salons which I know have toxic products. Prose is both toxin and fume free which is very hard to find elsewhere. I had booked mani/pedis for my parents and I. My parents got started on their mani/pedis and I sat with them waiting. I ask to find out no one was coming for me. I let it go because I really wanted this to be an experience for my folks. A couple weeks later I come back with my sister. I scheduled this for the both of us. Again, there wasn't someone scheduled for my mani/pedi. I invited my sister and let her have the service. I was extremely upset. Thought I would cry in the shop. The manager had informed the team about my previous experience so the team decided to give my sister the service free of charge this time. Yes, that was nice but the damage had been done and twice at that. The nail artists are caring, invested, and talented. This is what made me give Prose a chance. Nichole was AMAZING! She did my nails for my wedding and she was so lovely. My mom and I went in for manicures and pedicures. She was so flexible with color choices and gave the best consultations on color. When one of the other people in my group came in with dip nail polish, she jumped in and helped remover her nails while also taking care of me. I'm in love with the work she did and I got so many compliments. Will definitely be going back for future special events! The nail tech who helped me was so incredibly nice, however, I realized after I left how bad my nails actually look. I wanted almond shaped nails, but as you can see I ended up with something much.... Well, worse. However their availability for same or next day appointments and commitment to clean ingredients are appreciated. The woman at the check in was an angel and the best part of my time there. She was so sweet and accommodating. Halfway through the service, she asked if I wanted water or a hot pad for my neck. My nail tech was overall pretty unpleasant. It seemed like she was annoyed to be there. I did get cut when my nails were being filed. Mistakes happen, I understand. But she didn't seem particularly sympathetic when it happened. I love to learn from others. From the start the receptionist there was no offer of coffee, water, tea. The receptionist was was dress unprofessional as most of the nail techs. This was my step out of the "typical" nail salon, if you know what I mean. What have I been doing all these years! I had a pretty challenging case. I called and made an appt for that day for a dip and pedicure. I have very long natural nails and the guy that did my nails last talked me into getting acrylic over dip. This salon doesn't typically remove acrylic, but they made an exception for me. I appreciate that. I felt very safe coming in. Masks required, you have to wash your hands right when you come in and the shields are at every station. I had a different person for my pedicure and dip. I hate I can't remember their names but they were both wonderful. The jam here is healthy nails with healthy products and I can appreciate that. All things used on me were explained. The standard pedicure was an hour and so relaxing. I was worried about the dip, anyone that has had a bad experience can relate, but dammmnnnnn my nails look fire!!! What a beautiful nail salon located in Roseville!!! Everything was fantastic from the moment we walked through the door. We were greeted right away and someone got us tea/water while we picked out our colors. The salon was very clean. We scheduled two pedicures for my sister and I and we were seated right on time together. The chairs were comfortable, although they are not the massage chairs you typically find. We were given lavender scented hot neck wraps and were offered blankets. Someone came along and also offered to have rings cleaned while we had our pedicures done. The pedicure was great and the staff were very friendly. They went out of their way to make sure everything was great from the color, to the temperature of the water. I was a little embarrassed because I lost some of my nails from running but they assured me they see it all the time and made my toes look great. No shame from anyone here! Nobody was pushy or tried to sell products or get us to buy add ones. Your first mani or pedi is $35!!!! Such a great deal. They seem to have some sort of subscription to sign up for, we weren't interested and no one pushed us to sign up either which was nice. I will definitely be back! UPDATE from 9/8/19 service - 2 stars (see below for initial post) The owner Ann called me the following day after my first experience at Prose (see below) and apologized for my experience. She offered a complimentary mani/pedi if I wanted to come back and give them a second chance, and I agreed. I didn't get the opportunity to go back until yesterday, 9/8. I called the day before and scheduled an appointment for 9 am (when they open) to get a mani/pedi... I explained I had plans at 11 am and would need to be finished no later than 10:45 am, would that be a problem? The owner told me that would not be a problem, so I scheduled it. Sunday I arrive at 8:55 am and check in with Ann. My artist gets to work at 9:05, so I start my appointment late (again), but at least I'm seated this time. Ann started me with the manicure because it would have time to dry during my pedicure. The manicure itself was fine... not the best, but it was fine. The artist didn't clean up my cuticles - instead of pushing them back and trimming them, she just pushed them back and wiped them with a towel. It took until approximately 9:45 am (so 35-40 minutes) before she even got to the polish. I had told both Ann and the artist that I wanted a French on fingers and toes. She started the French polish on my hands around 9:45 am and didn't finish until 10:35 am... obviously at that point I had no time for the pedicure, and while the manicure looked fine, it wasn't a 50-minute-excellent-polish-job. If either the owner or artist had told me a French manicure would take so long, I wouldn't have asked for it. That's my main issue that follows thru from the first visit - if I ask you specifically if something can be done in a certain amount of time, and you tell me YES, my expectation is that it will happen in that amount of time. If the answer is NO, I can adjust my expectations and make an informed decision about what I want to do. My friend from the prior post also got a French pedicure in the prior post, and her polish also took more than 45 minutes... It honestly seems like the "artists" just started doing nails. I can't even say with confidence that they are trained/licensed, because every other nail place I've had with trained artists can manage a French manicure. This second experience was fine - I keep saying that because that's all it was. If I had paid for the service, I would be livid. I'm still pretty annoyed by the fact I've spent nearly 3.5 hours at this location with nothing but a lackluster manicure to show for it. They only recently had their official grand opening, so I understand there are still some kinks to work out. Hopefully they can work out the scheduling issues and find some professional, experienced nail techs to provide a more efficient service. I posted pics of my nails - like I said, the result is fine for a free 1h 40m manicure. Hopefully they will get better with time... but I won't be returning to find out. I changed the review from 1 star to 2 stars because the owner took responsibility for the first interaction. As I stand up to leave, my friend's artist comes to me and says "I can get started on you while she sits with her legs wrapped." And at this point, I've been here 45 minutes longer than I should have been, with nothing to show for it. On my way out the hostess apologized, but when I told her I specifically called and scheduled for the time I did because she said there would be two artists available at the same time, she said "We had a meeting run late." Well, then say that and tell me before I sit here for nearly an hour, so I can decide if I want to come back another time. After the second visit I'm a little more meh on this salon. I'll hold onto my membership another month and try a pedicure and then see where we're at... First visit using the membership: super hyped to get a manicure for the weekend with a specific design in mind. Come to find out in the fine print of the membership, basically everything except regular polish is an add on... gel is an additional $10, designs are $5/2 nails, etc. So we're talking $75 now, which is more than I pay for gel/design at my fave salon in NYC (seriously, hit up Paintbox next time you happen to be in Soho!) I was from out of town and looking to get a pedi sometime in within a few days. I found this salon online and they said they could get me in. The place seemed pretty clean and staff pretty friendly, although it wasn't anything particularly special. I wasn't offered anything extra. No beverages, no massage chairs, no TV to watch, just sit there and watch your phone or be in silence. My tech was decent, but when I asked for a French she said "that'll be more money, I thought you just wanted a regular pedi", so I backed down. Once she was done, from what was a very average pedi, gel polish, one color, no designs, I checked out and $87 later, my wallet was a bit shocked. It's on me for not asking how much. But my regular place in the same state, 2 hours away would've been $30 and included all the extras I didn't get. read more

I also forgot my rings there because I took them off and they are sealed and locked in box until I come back for them . I really enjoy Prose! I love their vegan/cruelty-free products and the smell of the studio (doesn't smell like chemicals). I saw the same person for a Mani and a pedicure (two separate visits) and she was just the best! So friendly and funny. I love the experience you get too. For my manicure, I got a heated neck pillow, was offered tea/water and they cleaned my wedding ring/band. For the pedicure, I also got the neck pillow and a blanket! I didn't shave my legs and felt so bad but the person was totally okay with it and made me feel welcome. It's on the more expensive side but I got a manicure on a Friday and after a full weekend of home renovations (scraping, painting, dry-walling) my manicure was still fully intact with now issues. read more

My first time at Prose Nails in Roseville and I had a basic pedicure. I'm not sure of the gal's name, but she had thick, long brown hair. I felt like she rushed through the pedicure. When she painted my toenails, she got polish on the skin by the nail. I asked her to clean it off. She seemed bothered by the fact I asked her to do that. She also didn't paint the tips/underneath of the end of the nail. I asked her to do this, and again, she seemed disgusted. And she didn't even do all the toenails! If you are a professional, then you do a COMPLETE job, making sure the customer is satisfied. This was a shitty job! I've had perfect pedicures before and this was by far the worst I have ever had. Paying $40 for this service is a joke! I should never have been charged to pay for such shoddy service and a poor attitude! I will not be going there again, nor will I recommend this salon. I went to PROSE for a 'treat yourself' type of treatment. I rarely ever go out to get my nails done and often times do it at home. The salon is very nicely set up and the staff is taking COVID seriously, which I can greatly appreciate. They start off with having you wash your hands and then picking your color. They have many gel options, if that is what you're interested in, but they also have regular polish as well. The nice thing about the salon is the whole salon focus is keeping your nails healthy, and not using many polishes that can possibly damage them. I unfortunately, forgot the name of my nail technician but she did a very good job with the paint and lotion application. They always use fresh tools on you that have been sterilized. There is a lotion massage that comes along with the paint job; and all the products that they use on you are available for purchase if you want to buy them after the nail job is done. Bottom line: It was a truly nice experience, and they even have a membership program too, if you get your nails done often. I scheduled an appointment at this location for an introductory price manicure. When I booked the appointment, the person on the phone asked if I would like gel polish and I said yes. She also asked me if I had polish on my nails that needed to be taken off and I told her that I did. When I arrived to my appointment, I showed my nail technician my nails, which had gel polish on them from a different salon, and she made a huge sigh and made it clear to me that she was upset/annoyed. When I asked her what was wrong with my nails she said, in a very rude tone, that since the polish I had on was not from their salon, that it would take very long to remove. I told her that when I booked the appointment I informed the person on the phone. She continued to be visibly upset and rude throughout my appointment and said multiple times that I would have to just sit and wait for a long time to soak the gel polish off and that it will be hard to remove. She made it clear to me that it was a large inconvenience to her and that she did not want to remove my polish. Overall, I really did not appreciate that I was belittled because I was not wearing their own nail polish when this was my first time there and I felt like a huge inconvenience to my technician with the way she was talking to me and her body language. I didn't think it was a big deal coming in with nail polish that needed to be taken off, because this is a nail salon and usually when I get a manicure it is no problem to do a polish change. I wish they would have told me prior to my appointment that I would be charged $10 for polish removal and clarified the type of polish that I had on originally so they can book the appointment with correct timing and inform the technician. Besides this, the salon itself was very clean and the other staff members were extremely polite to me. I love their services and that they offer a drink, warm neck wrap, and to clean my rings. Four months ago I would have given this place 5 stars. I found it just after the pandemic and it was wonderful. Clean, great pedicure with non-toxic products, reasonably priced. I visited often and they tried to sell me on a subscription service but I don't like those, so I said no and paid the upcharge of $10. Still seemed like a good deal. Today, I went for a pedicure and the place was completely changed. Nearly empty (there was one other customer). TVs dead, no music, every surface dirty and stained. I got a reeeallllly rushed and inadequate pedicure: poor job cleaning the old color off, slapdash cuticle trim, really sloppy new polish. $40. I probably won't be back. read more

I have now been to the salon twice and have been unhappy both times. The first time I got a gel manicure. The polish was put on nicely, but my manicure lasted less than a week before it started to chip. The second time I went back for a pedicure. Again, the nail technician was nice and seemed to put on the polish neatly, but I got home and realized one of my nails was messed up. They also put these quick drying drops on my nails that put a strange film over my nails and around my toes and cuticles.
