This is made worse by my mobility issues which too often had me in pain and trying to find a place to sit at other retailers . It was actually the combo of boycotting one location of a specific franchise due to poor treatment followed by excuses that landed me at Trail appliances . Used to suggesting every time I am surveyed for the mystery unnamed retailer how to make it more accessible for those who experience pain and spasm as a part of getting around I had low expectations , Few places are designed with this idea in mind as the law does not compel them to - I think that's why anyway . I cannot cook safely on a stove due to falling a bit too much to think that's safe so a microwave failing - is on the big deal side of things as I cannot just make do or I eat a lot of sandwiches. I was impressed that I was swiftly offered a chair. While people who ambulate easily might think places with chairs see that you might benefit and offer them they would be wrong. Right in that moment quickly noticing me and that a chair might be helpful my heart was fairly won, Could they keep it was the question as oddly as a decisive shopper it sometimes throws things off somehow. This time it did not . With what microwave we wanted decided before we got there due to it showing on a map as having it, There were warranty decisions to be made and we got excellent information to help us make those, While no expert in microwaves I get a fair bit of tech news to my inbox so I did know that things were a bit different since last I bought one but I am not a visual learner at all so anything I had read out of interest about advances in microwaves ( it's okay to mock me in your heads or to laugh I do myself when I am on some random reading binge. ) had me wanting to be sure the right term went with the right part and as you now buy separate warranties it seemed like a good idea to be sure. Everything was competently explained and overall I would not hesitate to bring my future appliance needs to Trail as prices are often the same or will be matched so service is where a store can stand out and Trail did that for me. Appliances are not an exciting purchase. They are a necessary one though . I did not expect to come out feeling downright happy to have purchased a microwave as I may be a :"grown-up" but necessary and functional don't say retail thrills , Service that is friendly and informative though do. No good reason to be out there being ignored by bigger companies with hard to shift brand loyalty when you could shop at Trail in my opinion, Customer service is not it seems dead but alive at Trail Appliances ,

We went in looking for a dual oven with convection/air fry capabilities in both. There was nothing…read moreon the floor with what we were looking for so the sales associate, Tracy, showed us options online. We finally settled on an LG model as she told us it had the features we were looking for. Trail's own spec sheet also supported this statement. So, all good, arranged delivery, paid ($2500) and left happy. The unit was delivered a couple weeks later, the delivery went smoothly but, because we were replacing a gas oven we couldn't plug it in until the gas line was capped by a certified gas-fitter. They could have mentioned this in advance as Tracy knew what we were replacing. So, the guys left, we arranged for a gas-fitter, got the line capped a couple days later and finally were able to test out our new range which we soon discovered did NOT have convection options on both ovens after-all - just the bottom one. When I emailed Tracy with my concern, she responded by saying that the LG model we chose doesn't have convection in both ovens (even though she told us it did when we bought it) and attached the full owners manual as a pdf to prove it. Now of course this annoyed me as both she and the docs she showed us in-store before we bought it, said it was dual convection. That's why we bought it! If she had doubts about what she was saying then she could of reviewed the user manual before we bought it and which of course we didn't have access to until they delivered the oven. She also said if we'd used it then it wasn't returnable - luckily for us, other then testing the features we hadn't actually cooked anything. After multiple mailings, back and forth over the course of a week, we finally received confirmation they'd take it back with a 5% restocking charge which she said was a great deal as its usually 25%. Annoying we had to pay this + the delivery costs considering it was her mistake in the first place! So, they came by a few days later, picked it up and we were told, after they got it back to the store and inspected it, that we'd get our refund. After almost 3 weeks, and many emails later, we finally got our refund. Overall a painful experience with poor knowledge about Trail's products demonstrated by the sales rep, never taking any responsibility for the mistake or apologizing and essentially blaming us for selecting the wrong model. Add that to being out a few hundred dollars in delivery and restocking charges and being without a range for several weeks. In the end we found a Samsung (at Home Depot) that had the features we wanted but it was gas so we then had to pay the pipe-fitter again to uncap the line so we could hook it up. Those costs could have been avoided as well if Tracy had just told us up front they didn't have what we were looking for. We won't be going back to Trail.

My wife and I found a style of lights we loved at the Tillicum location. They explained that display lights could be sold after safe removal by a professional and took my contact info. Great service--Tillicum gets 5 stars! Based on that, I went to the Langford store. They had the same lights on display, but when I asked to buy them, the salesperson said no. I explained Tillicum offered this option, but he insisted otherwise. I asked for a manager and waited 10 minutes. When Wendy (the manager) arrived, she was dismissive and condescending. She said, "We do not sell displayed lights," and when I asked why Tillicum could, she replied, "I don't know, but I follow directions." I told her I was willing to wait for safe removal, but she refused and treated my frustration as rudeness. When I asked her name, she pointed to her tag and said, "I hope you will not misspell it." The store was empty, yet she acted like I was bothering her. Tillicum: 5 stars. Langford: 0 stars. Inconsistent policies and terrible attitude from management. I wasted time and left feeling disrespected.

After doing my own research and understanding the repair and ETA for parts I made the decision to repair my appliance, as opposed to purchase a new one. Reason for this is a new appliance would have put me back two times the repair cost. He seemed reluctant from the beginning (I should have taken that as a sign he really wasn't interested in doing the diagnostic or repair, and not trusted him to complete the work - despite previous working relations). I noted a new appliance was going to be twice the price, and explained I would rather complete the repair than shell out additional money for a new one. At the time of diagnostic, he reset something, and "coincidentally" couldn't replicate the issue. He then told me to go buy an appliance that is roughly the cost of the repair; although he failed to realize that unit is a construction spec, one that only developers can purchase. I knew this, because I had tried to purchase one prior to me call ing Jack's in the first place. The minute he left, the issue persisted. Leaving me at square one, with a diagnostic fee, an unanswered text and phone call. I suppose he is only good at dealing with "easy, quick fix repairs".
