The next day, I spent three hours on the phone with KitchenAid who informed me there was no one in the area who could fix the microwave/oven; although, we could call a KitchenAid certified repair company in Mount Vernon. I call them, and they said they don't repair anything they didn't initially install. Really? I decided to call Broadview Appliance not knowing whether they repaired KitchenAid appliances. The gist of the two-minute call with Broadview was "No problem. We can come out in three days." Sure enough, AJ, the appliance magician, showed up a few days later and immediately assessed the issue, sharing that not only would it be no problem to get the parts, but it would cost significantly less than the Mount Vernon company had estimated it would cost. The snow delayed AJ having to install the parts, but as promised, our microwave/oven was repaired and running smoothly before Christmas. There aren't words to express our gratitude for Broadview Appliance and the professionalism and laser-focused diagnostics done by AJ. Broadview deserves six stars and not five!

Zero Stars - Incompetent Work, Abandoned Job, $170 Stolen I…read moregave Chris TWO MONTHS to make this right before writing this review. He has ignored every attempt at contact. Here's what happened: Chris claimed expertise with LG dryers. He diagnosed a "faulty roller wheel" and charged us. After multiple texts over several weeks, he finally installed the part. The dryer was LOUDER than before. When I immediately pointed this out, he attempted a quick "fix," then abruptly announced he was having surgery and would send "another company" to finish the job. He literally bolted from our house mid-job, saying he had no time. That was months ago. No other company ever called. No follow-up. No response to texts, emails, or website messages. Radio silence. Here's the kicker: I took the wheel he removed to an appliance parts supplier. They found NOTHING wrong with it. Chris misdiagnosed the problem, made it worse, and then abandoned us. This wasn't a complicated repair - Chris was clearly out of his depth and either couldn't or wouldn't admit it. His complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service is astounding. He took our money, damaged our dryer, and disappeared. We're out $170 with a dryer in worse condition than when he started. While I hope his surgery went well, he has no business operating as an appliance repair technician. This is either gross incompetence or outright fraud. Do not hire this person. You will regret it.

Let me tell you a story about how Seth saved me from a dumb dad move and thereby saved my weekend -…read more Busy weekend out on the island with the fam, lots of hustle and bustle - in the midst of a couple days where it feels like nothing is going quite right on the family front. Looking to turn things around, I decide to install the kid seat on the back of my wife's bike for our 2 y.o. so we can do the ol' family bike ride (that'll fix it!). In a moment of overzealousness though, I give that over-tight, cheap screw in the back of her bike a turn-too-many with the allen wrench: it's stripped, but maybe salvageable. But what do I do? I think, "I can still get it...." So I jump back in there: cheap screw vs. cheap allen wrench, and I send that screw straight to The Land of No Return. It's never coming out now. Enter Seth and Meat Machine. Now, mind you, I had already been down there the day before - or my wife had - for another bike-related issue (I told you - it was that kind of weekend). So, I limp in there, figuratively speaking, and in my shame I present El Strippo to Seth. What does he do? He doesn't make my feel bad. He doesn't hesitate. Immediately, almost un-questioningly, he throws that bad boy up on the lift. He explains that this is not going to be easy and expresses concern that he'll break the head off the screw and then it's done (the seat is never going on in that case). He tries one expensive hex after another. No dice. Last resort: he busts out the blow torch. "Let's put a little heat on it." And he does, and, like magic, that baby starts to move! With the turning of the screw, hearts lift, hope returns - the screw it out. The day - the family bike ride - is saved. No charge. I headed outside and, literally, the clouds cleared (though I'm not sure I credit Seth with that one). But he and Meat Machine did save the day, no doubt. Great little shop. Friendly helpful guys. Shillion is in his 70's and knows his business, very knowledgeable and energetic. My frig// freezer had quit and he found the culprit very quickly. The whole job took about 1.25 hrs and to my surprise when leaving at 9:30 at night he stated that he'd be heading to the bus. He likes the bus travel and the fact that it costs him little every month. An amazing man, very likeable and straightforward. My freezer/frig is 20 years old and he said if the compressor goes again then it's time for a new frig! I appreciated his honesty and his willingness to work in the evening ,as leaving my food outside in two coolers is a bit onerous to say the least. Also was a very reasonable price!
