We found Justin/Royal Painting on a Yelp search. After obtaining quotes from previous companies who have done jobs at our home over the years (not overly satisfied by past jobs) and based on the Yelp reviews on Royal Painting, we decided to roll the proverbial dice and go with them. We had our master bedroom (Floor boards, ceiling, closet trim, built in desk top, four walls and door), hallway (floor boards, one wall and ceiling), guest bedroom (floor boards, closet trim and door), stairway (ceiling, filled in damaged areas from removal of carpet on stairs, new stair risers, hand rail and stair banister) completed in two days just as Justin promised. Justin's team did an excellent job laying down a full protective barrier on our new floors and taped everything off. After the first night, they left the work space very clean and when completed the second night, they mopped the floor that was on the other side of the plastic sheeting. They even labeled the left over paint with where it was put on in the house!! I had a VERY bad experience with Royal Painting. Justin is a painting contractor who runs crews with inexperienced painters that he does not know. He also has many jobs going at once so he is unable to supervise very well. Even after instructing his workmen to repair something one way, they did it their own way, and then he chewed them out in front of me, which I found to be very unprofessional . I know he lost money on my job because things had to be redone two or three times, and a big repair on my French doors was done incorrectly, and then not redone. I know Justin replaced the first crew he had on my house with different (better) painters, but sadly they were adding coats of paint over bad work just making things worse. And because the painters were taking longer than anticipated, when I added something to the job, to make up some of his losses , Justin wanted to charge me an exorbitant amount of money for the addition for which I told him I would pay half of what he was asking and he agreed. I feel I paid a lot of money for "professionals" when I could have probably gotten a better job done by hiring men from the parking lot at Home Depot. read more
