This is going to become my new favorite hotspot to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings. As soon as I…read morewalked in through the door I felt as though I were five years old again, walking into my first penny candy store. I found myself surrounded with sights and sounds that brought out my inner sugar crazed youth; it even made me giddy with excitement. I love the sounds of a sno-cone being made! The walls are covered with shelves of every sugary delight you can imagine. There is such a wide variety and assortment of different flavors; everyone is sure to find something to satisfy their cravings. I'm especially a big fan of the Jelly Belly jelly bean display that awaits my next visit. There's an assortment of truffles and other chocolates found in a glass case behind the cash register. I would've tried them all however, I was afraid I would gain 50 pounds before even walking out the door. The artwork on the wall adds to the flair of this candy shop. I almost forgot to mention the ice cream case. With a wide variety of flavors everyone is sure to find something that will appeal to their sweet tooth. If you're not in the mood for a cone, they offer a prefix case of ice cream. They even have fresh store made candy and caramel apples. I'm going back for the frozen chocolate banana. They even have sugar-free options available in the ice cream and chocolates. This is going to be a place I've got to frequent more often. Oh, and one of my personal favorites the 3 foot pixi stix! I'm certain, as this business grows so will the selection to tempt my taste buds!

Great little shop in Leonardtown! On New Year's Eve, my sister-in-law took all the girls to…read moreLeonardtown to do some walking and window shopping while the boys went golfing. She brought us to Heritage Chocolates which is located in an old house. It's super cute inside with the left half as an open kitchen. You get to see all the yummy things they are cooking up! They have a large room at the front of the house with a velvet couch with the chocolates and candies displayed on bookshelves. You'll find more in the hallway and they also have a selection of handmade gelato in the back. We picked up some chocolate covered strawberries that were being made for NYE, chocolate covered pretzels and a chocolate covered apple. The gal who took care of us included an extra chocolate covered strawberry because she felt that a couple of the strawberries was on the smaller side. I thought that was so sweet! All items purchased didn't last long. We had 8 people in the house, so you can imagine the speed of distribution and consumption. The strawberries were definitely a hit and great little treat to end the year on a sweet note! Stay safe, Friends!

I'm not aware of any other chocolate store like this in Southern Maryland. The place had ample…read moreselection of chocolate covered oreos and fruits and nuts, as well as boxed assortments, a ton of Easter bags, and gelato. I wasn't expecting the gelato, but it looked good so I gave it a shot. And I must say, the mint chip, which actually didn't look as appealing as the other flavors in the display, was quite impressive. There were a ton of fine chocolate scrapings inside that gave a slightly bitter contrast to the sweet and aromatic mint. The other flavor I tried was strawberry, which was forgettable by comparison. I did get a chocolate box sampler. The ones I've tried have been good, though I'm a bit peeved it isn't labeled. This place did not seem to be one that offered a ton for the dairy-free crowd or the allergen crowd, so figure there's a lot of dairy and nuts going on here. But if you eat those things, you'll be satisfied.
