East Hill Cabinetry

East Hill Cabinetry

Anthony and the team at east hill just finished my kitchen. I posted a picture as well. Anthony…read morecame up with a fantastic kitchen design and helped us pick beautiful cabinets. Pricing was fair. Support was outstanding. He stood behind his product. No questions asked, when little issues came up. He helped refer us to venders and even helped me find pulls. Overall, Great experience. I would use him again and I have already referred friends to him.

We started working with Anthony from East Hill Cabinetry when we gut renovated our house this past…read moreJanuary. I can honestly say Anthony has been the silver lining in what has been an otherwise extremely aggravating process. Had every vendor been as professional as East Hill, it would have been an incredible experience. Not only is the product unique, high quality and beautiful, the customer service and attention to detail is exceptional. Our designer, who has decades of experience, highly recommended Anthony to us. We were under major time constraints and he came within two days of receiving our call. He then proceeded to design a kitchen that far exceeded our expectations for a space that had many limitations. We met him at his (beautiful) showroom where he presented us with easy to understand 3D computer generated plans and went over every minute detail with us. That night we went home and reconsidered a lot of our choices (would I be able to reach the plates? Do we really like green for cabinets? Could the kids access the microwave?) When we requested yet another meeting with Anthony (I think we were pushing the third one within a week) he was not just amenable to my changes, but warm and good-humored. We went back to the drawing board and did the whole thing again (just to be clear, this was all because of our indecision and general annoyingness). After we had paid in full and received the cabinets, Anthony continued to be an integral part of our renovation (I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the general public would have been dodging our calls at this point). Whether it was altering the look of a cabinet face at HIS expense (because we had a change of heart...are you getting the picture of who the poor guy was dealing with yet??); making suggestions to the contractor for how to build out a wall to make a fridge look better; meeting us in the parking lot and loading our car, so we didn't have to get our baby out of her car seat; or even eating costs that were a result of our electrician's mistakes, Anthony was amazing and really there for us every step of the way. We are sad the project is over because it means no more Anthony...We are trying to look around my kitchen now for a reason to call him but it looks way too beautiful for me to find one single flaw.

Based on my recent personal experience, I unfortunately have to agree with all the negative…read morereviews. 1. Pressure to put down a deposit -- do NOT do it unless your design is final. They will push you hard to pay a deposit to "lock in" a price. In reality, any change to your initial design--no matter how small--results in a higher quote, and they will not provide any breakdown to justify the increases. You're left with two choices: accept the added cost on faith, or walk away and lose your deposit. There is no actual price lock. 2. Promises that aren't reflected in writing. The owner, Fatih, may verbally assure you that you can recover half of your deposit if you decide not to move forward during the design phase. Insist on getting everything in writing before paying anything. Once you receive the written terms (which only show up after you've sent the deposit if you let them rush you), you'll find that you are not entitled to any refund if you ever request your design--whether for review, record-keeping, or any legitimate purpose. Unsurprisingly, none of this is mentioned before they take your money. 3. Poor communication once they have your deposit. After paying, be prepared to chase them. I repeatedly had to send multiple emails and make follow-up calls just to receive a one-line response. And after these delays, they will inform you that your "locked-in" price is about to expire unless you finalize your order within a couple of days--again with no refund of your deposit if you don't. 4. Vague and non-specific documentation. The price they claim you've "locked in" only applies to an undefined "as-per-design" reference--without details. If you don't have a copy of the design, I'm not sure how you could ever prove what you supposedly locked in. They avoid putting anything concrete in writing, making it nearly impossible to hold them accountable. That alone should be a major red flag. I made the mistake of trusting this business based on a recommendation from someone I know. I hope that sharing my experience helps others avoid the same situation.

Excellent service. We used Vega for a major kitchen remodel after interviewing five other possible…read morealternatives in the area, and I'm glad we did. We're pretty picky about interior design, and the entire team was super patient with us throughout the entire process and very helpful. The owner himself came to our house multiple times (initial measurements, double checking, partial installation, complete installation, follow-up, etc.) to make sure everything was going well. One time, when a third-party cabinet supplier forgot to include a side panel in the initial shipment, the owner handpicked a virtually perfect match from some unrelated stock and just gifted it to us so that we could cut it and apply it to our island in time for a huge party we were having at our house that weekend, and we got the actual panel shortly after that. They've got a great selection of cabinetry, hardware, and countertop material, in addition to some other stuff. It's been 13 months now since installation was complete, and we're still in a state of shock about how beautiful the whole thing is every time we walk into the kitchen. I could not recommend them more strongly.

Hacker Greenwich - Appliance suggestions were excellent.

We contracted with Maya at Hacker Kitchens Greenwich in February to build our dream kitchen. She…read morehad great reviews and can travel anywhere. Maya is very, very, very precise and careful. Measurements are to 1/16 of an inch and we were thrilled. You will never find anyone like her. She is an engineer, designer and an architect. If you want your kitchen done fast and cheap; go somewhere else. If you want it done just once and beautifully; make an appointment with Maya. I have done 5 kitchens over my life and this was by far the best one. A few things you should know regarding a total redo of a kitchen like we did. 1-The process will take time, probably longer than you think, and you can not rush it 2-It will cost more than you think for crazy things you will pick out later in the process. I just spent $112 for special electrical faceplates on Amazon because they were gorgeous. Hacker Kitchens is responsible for cabinets, appliances (which are frequently incorporated into the cabinets), backsplash and countertops. You may need a general contractor for specialities like electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc. She may be able to help with recommendations or I would be happy to share names of the professionals that I used in the NY, CT area. If you speak with Maya and want to see a finished kitchen, ask her to call Louis or Susan. We would be proud to show you.

We did a major kitchen renovation in 2021 and had zero experience going into the process. After…read moreweeks of looking at every conceivable cabinet line, we settled on Hacker as the style that most clearly embodied what we were looking for--clean lines, modern approach and fully functional for a family with 4 kids. After some research, we were not only thrilled to find Maya--the company's representative in the US--but amazed that she designed kitchens in the DC area. From the first phone call, she immediately got us and what we were looking for. For people with a vision/taste but little practical experience, she guided us in our choices--making the process understandable and giving us recommendations where she knew what we wanted wasn't going to look right. She was the perfect balance of being supportive but also allowing us the benefit of her experience. After the ordering, Maya really took charge of communicating with the contractors--countertop, hacker and installers--and just took so much stress out of the process for us. She wasn't satisfied until every measurement was perfect and every checklist item had been addressed to our satisfaction. Sitting here in our new kitchen, I can't believe how amazing everything came out and we couldn't have done it without Maya.
