We've been to Royal Sushi several times, usually when we can't quite decide where else to go, and we know we will get a meal that is maybe won't really WOW us but is at least good and consistent. On this visit we ordered the shrimp pad Thai and the chicken hibachi, and both were good but nothing that really stood out. It's dependable, but not a place we would go out of our way for. times, and the food is generally good but not standout -- this time we had the shrimp pad Thai and chicken hibachi. Worth mentioning is the staff. The server we had was genuinely kind, and that always makes the experience better. In a small town, hospitality goes a long way. The food may be just okay, but the warm service makes it a comfortable option when you want a familiar spot. read more

Don't waste your money or time and save your stomach. Horrible service. The sushi was horrible. We did order the calamari. I wish I had taken a pic bf sending it back. It was over fried and hours HOURS old and fried in dirty grease. I will not want sushi for a very long time due to the disgusting taste that was left in my mouth. Small little store front store that we ran into after driving home from the airport. Not much from the outside but delicious food. My wife had the chicken and salmon hibachi and I had the Thai mango. Both very filling and flavorful. Great service as well. read more

I have always ordered Royal Sushi via Uber eats but today I was able to dine in. The restaurant is small but clean and the staff was friendly. We ordered the spicy jalapeño appetizer and it was sooo good! Definitely only recommend ordering in person because the fresh out of the fryer crunch won't be the same in a takeout order. We ordered the sushi lunch special and not only was service fast but it was such a great price and filling. Do not sleep on this place. Also try the Panang curry I am not typically into meals with coconut milk but when my husband ordered this was ready to switch meals. read more

We ordered takeout from royal sushi while on vacation with low expectations but dang! Their sushi, hibachi, crab rangoons were all great! Perfect cook. Sushi was really fresh, flavorful, tightly rolled. Crab Rangoons were crispy (which is impressive for takeout) and good amount of filling. Pricing was pretty comparable to other sushi/Japanese places. We've added to our takeout list for future. Very good! 4 out of 5 but only because I don't know the service or inside atmosphere. 5/5 for food! read more

I went here after a 24 hour fast expecting to be blown away and have my hunger satisfied. Little did I know I wouldn't even be able to finish anything because of how bad it was. After a 25 minute wait plus an additional 10 minute wait after they got my order wrong I got my food. I ordered a side of fried rice, salmon nigiri, 2 alaskan rolls, a shrimp tempura roll and a taro boba tea. I was severely let down by the cold and chewy shrimp tempura roll and even more by the tasteless alaskan rolls. The rice was soggy and had no flavor. To make it worse the majority of the roll was filled with cucumber and avocado, leaving no room for the salmon. The boba tea was bland and I saw a pitcher of it sitting in the fridge which could have been in there for however long. The fried rice was similar to something you'd get at a food court at a mall and was honestly just terrible. I usually don't write reviews but I had to for this one. I will never go back to this establishment and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

So I went to this place while out shopping and they give you a small bowl of salad with a small bowl of miso soup, and I thought the sushi was pretty good and cheap hibachi(you get what you pay for, 10$ for hibachi so you shouldn't expect them to cook it at your table for you if you get what I mean) so I brought my husband back that night and they only gave us 1 small bowl of miso soup and a small bowl of salad for us to share lol we had a laugh about it but didn't expect that we'd only get one? The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The dishes I've tried so far all taste like I got when we lived in Japan. I highly recommend trying the Gyoza as an appetizer. Decor is very simple and a bit plain but the food is excellent. read more

New spot in town!!! Remodeled the old C's Waffles location and it's quite nice inside! Teriyaki chicken was great although soup and salad leave a bit to be desired. Spicy tuna roll was good and had an added bit of crunch. Great plating and portion sizes. Our server was quiet, but very attentive. Probably going back again tonight! read more

We have gotten take out here 4 times. Twice for 2 people, twice for 4. And eaten in once. I wanted to love this place so much. It's convenient and I love sushi. The menu is so huge, everyone can be happy. But, the food is just ok. Not bad, not amazing. It's not an inexpensive dinner for 4 either. The first take out our sushi was wrong. Got a whole tray of someone else's. We called them right away. Of course it always takes 10 tries before you can get through so my husband just drove back there. They just took the sushi back and found ours. Not that we wanted the wrong sushi but I found it a little strange they took it back. Did they just give it to the right people after we had it or did they throw it out? And nothing was said about us having to drive back there -no apology, no coupon for next time, no customer service. The second time we did take out, after 10 calls to get thru, we ordered and they said 25 minutes. An hour and ten later, it was ready. Really bummed. I was so excited to have this place here. Not saying I wont go again but it wont be often if I do. Iid rather go to Yuki and I know that's not even one of the best ones in town but they are better than Royal. read more

The Thai milk tea is sooo good! I had the pad Thai, and it was very good. Just a hint of spice, everything seemed fresh and tasted great. Happy to have a new place in Edgewater! Looking forward to trying their sushi next! read more

Was very anxious to try this place; ordered on line last weekend and took home: 1) spicy Thai fried rice with chicken. 2) yellow curry with chicken, and 3) Tom yum soup. Totally disappointed, visually unappealing, the worst Thai food I ever tasted. Ingredients were minimal and the flavor was raw and questionable. read more

Called to place an order. They refused to honor the lunch specials which on their menu is available everyday from 11-3. It is 2:10 PM on a Wednesday. Today is NOT a holiday, I've been to the store, the bank and everywhere else. They are trying to capitalize on it being holiday time. Annie, the owner whom I spoke with seemed frustrated I asked for the lunch special. I have eaten here ten plus times without incident but won't be back when the menu isn't honored. I recommend asking if they are honoring the lunch special pricing before spending your valuable time reviewing the menu. read more

I want restaurants to be successful and am cautious about my criticism, but the person managing the front of the house chose to be condescending rather than understanding when I sent an unacceptable dish back. The olive oil cake that we were sent home with (comped) was as good as everyone says. The service was also good until the problem and the Sangria was delish. The Negatives: I was so excited to have the Paella since it's been years since I've had a great one. I've had Paella at 7 or 8 restaurants in the past as well as home prepared so I am not new to the experience. What I dished onto my plate had a little bit of everything. Everything was good not great but the chicken thigh meat was like rubber and the shrimp was overcooked by quite a lot. I don't expect perfection with shrimp. When our server checked on us, I informed them of the poor quality and they quickly said to stop eating and another dish can be brought out. I can only speculate that they have had problems with complaints after a dish has already been eating but that's not us. I never ask for anything to be comped if I am unhappy. My wife didn't want to send it back because it would mean a long wait for another but I didn't want it. Our server told us we need to decide fast and left us to discuss. We did not eat any more and after about 10 minutes the food was taken from the table. They did offer again to make something else. We were very disappointed since it's a 45 minute drive for us but these things happen sometime. Can't win them all. We could have just ended things there and I was prepared to pay the 60 dollars for the Paella (was removed) and move on but the manager came out and lectured me about this being the first complaint about the Paella in 3 years and that she tasted it all and that it was fine. Of the thousands of restaurants I've been to in my life, this was a first. Nobody likes it when they are implicated as a liar. What was a disappointing experience turned into an upsetting one. I hope she was just having a bad day because treating customers that way is not a recipe for success. I like to give businesses a second chance because everyone makes mistakes, and we had planned to meet some friends that live closer to NSB, but I can't imagine that I will now because of that. Perhaps they wouldn't want me back since I am the only person to ever complain about the Paella. Did I insult the chef by doing that?
