The best part of the restaurant was the attentive service like bringing extra plates for the appetizer and asking if we needed extra napkins and a knife to cut our food. They brought complimentary soup and a deep fried cream cheese and imitation crab appetizer. We ordered the bento box lunch special that comes with your choice of 2 rolls and a California roll. We also had yellow curry with plenty of tofu and fresh veggies like asparagus, pea pods, and zucchini. The veggie tempura was done perfectly and included deep-fried mushrooms, onions, sweet potato, zucchini and broccoli. All the food was cooked perfectly, and the portion size was good for the price. We were a bit hesitant about this place due to the location. Do not let the crappy strip-mall facade fool you, though. This place knows sushi. I had salmon and tuna nigiri as an appetizer, and every piece tasted like it was freshly caught. My entree was from the hibachi grill, chicken and shrimp, and was as good as anything I've ever gotten at Kobi. The soups and salads were also fresh and delicious. I've had better and I've had worse. In the long scheme of things, Fancy Q served its purpose - to have edible food. We stopped here for lunch on our way to a wedding in Central Florida one Thursday afternoon. It was relatively empty and the décor stood out as being quite modern. They had both sushi and Thai selections. I ordered a miso soup and a California roll, while my companion had their pad Thai. They ended up giving us a second soup and a free plate that we did not touch. The second soup wasn't miso, but something else entirely different, and somehow my companion ended up with my miso soup. I started with a veggie sushi roll which was the standard carrot, avocado, squash, rolled in seaweed and rice. It was followed by the fried tofu stir fry which came with a side of noodles and rice. The tofu was bland, when cooking tofu, all the flavor comes form the sauce... This sauce was brown and bland. There was also a bit of onion, carrot, squash(?) mixed in. The side of noodles were just noodles with the same/similar bland, brown sauce. The rice also had the same bland, brown sauce and a few specs of other items (mixed veggies, eggs) and had a very smoky flavor, like liquid smoke was added? Most everyone had a version of the stir fry (steak, or shrimp with the side of noodles and rice) and/or some sushi. Everyone said their food was "ok" nothing outstanding, and nothing terrible. The only thing we didn't like was the clear soup and that is just our taste. The sushi was so fresh and everything was really good.
