Photos help the selection process as well. Rollen Donuts is a super small shop but extraordinarily fresh donuts. While there were none of my favorites (crullers), a couple chocolate bars are a close second. And Wow! Were they good! So fresh, they almost could not be picked up or easily held, my fingers sank right into them. Still warm, and the frosting was generous with a cake-like icing texture. That said, as a local resident, the experience has been frustrating more often than not. Their posted hours say they're open until 2 PM, but in reality, they're usually sold out by around 10 AM. It makes it really difficult to plan a visit unless you go very early, which isn't always realistic for everyone. If the shop consistently sells out that early, it would be helpful to either adjust the hours or increase production so more people actually have a chance to buy something. Because this is the only donut option in town, it would be nice to have a more reliable experience--or even some competition to give residents a bit more choice. Again, I respect that it's a small, family-owned spot, but as it stands, it's hard to depend on them if you're not there first thing in the morning. Please try to work on this sunshine. I would hate for a chain donut store to come to this town, but at the end of the day i would take consistent service over anything.

The line to order was wrapped around inside the shop and out the door. I would say the bagels are 100% worth the wait though. They offer a wide variety of fresh bagels, cream cheeses, and toppings. Luckily we were able to find a table outside while we waited for our orders. Whenever an order was ready, the workers walked around both inside and outside shouting the name of the order which made it convenient for us to not have to fight the crowd to the counter. The only issue I felt there was was the cleanliness. When you are standing inside, you can quite literally see years of caked on dirt on some of the not frequently touched surfaces. The lamps probably had an inch of dust built up. Although this isn't the most important detail, it still makes me question the cleanliness of the whole establishment.
