First let me say thanks for the hospitality I received. I will say the cigar lounge in my opinion is slightly below average. However it has adequate indoor and outdoor seating. It had very limited but extra large TV's . The bar seating was ok not great. The drinks are overpriced but it was explained to me it had to be because of the current state laws. The humidor selection was small but seemed to be sealed off perfectly. If you purchase a cigar there isn't a $10 cut fee. Cigar prices are about average for Ohio. The staff is very welcoming and considerate. The lounge is very far away from the downtown area so if you are there for a conference you will have to travel a long way. An uber or cab will be expensive. However they are very close to the Hollywood casino... Right across the street. There weren't a lot of people there at the time I arrived so I couldn't tell if the filtration system was adequate. I didn't see a lot of indoor tables if you wanted to set up and do work or eat. However they have plenty outside. I didn't use the Wi-Fi but I'm sure it's adequate. They have food truck on the side if you want food. Due to the location, small humidor and the lack of TV's I would give it a 4 out of 10. If you are travelling in... there aren't a lot of lodging options around nor other activities or restaurants. Its not located in a community it's far away from everything except a casino. But the staff are great and had some art hanging on the walls. read more

The area around Royale Cigar Lounge looks a little rough which is why I was so surprised by the inside of the Lounge. It's modern, well-kept, and clean. I'd expect to find something like this in the middle of Chicago - not next to a strip club. This is a surprisingly cool hidden gem in the area. They have a limited bar with virtually zero mixers and a walk-in humidor with cigars available for purchase. PROS: -Comfortable, armed lounging chairs and couches make up the majority of all of the seating here. All of the seating is very group-focused (four chairs face a table, etc.) for groups of friends. I would say I would have been uncomfortable smoking a cigar here myself; there's really no seating designed for single-person lounging, and I would have felt bad taking up a full four-person spread. -If you need to do work or are hanging solo, they have WiFi for customers. -Bathrooms are clean too. While the women's was out of paper towels, I snagged some out of the men's (two single-room restrooms). Both bathrooms looked surprisingly clean. -Really well ventilated. We actually didn't smell like cigars after leaving this place. -Parking lot right outside. Very easy to park and pop in, and lots of other people seem to come in, buy a cigar, and head right back out. CONS: -I really, really, really did not like the drink I ordered here. I'm not sure the bartender had any bartending experience. This place is very straight bourbon and whiskey forward with old-fashioneds being their most common drink. Two beer choices. No stouts or dark beers. You can't bring in your own options (understandably), but the bar options are limited if you aren't the stereotypical cigar smoker or are here as a non-cigar smoker here to keep someone company. -Multiple televisions were on the same channel, each with their own volume. Volume was not sychronized, however, so you had a constant 3-tier echo of the exact same program throughout the entire time we were here. -No one answered the phone the 5+ times I tried to call day-of despite being during their "open" hours. Great setup, no services... recommendations for drinks, but I request it be fruity....since you really can't mess up a fruit drink. Well I didn't enjoy it, something was missing. Investing in a bartender would benefit even slow nights. Do I recommend it, absolutely! Great setup for the professional or socialite. I was able to work on work and unwind for the night in peace. The room was solid and had great potential. The owner seemed personable. However- I was charged a single fee of $60 for 3 old fashioned drinks. This was far beyond the scope of this location. I will find a different location on my next visit. 3 drinks and 2 $15 cigars came to $110. read more

$20.00 rum and coke... really? My son and I were looking for a place to get out of the cold and have a cigar, so I looked this place up on Yelp. Since we brought our own sticks, I thought it would be polite to order a drink. I should have known I was in trouble when the "bar tender" said he didn't know how make an old fashioned. It was obvious he was just minding the shop for the owner. So, I asked for a simple rum and diet in a tall glass. he took this to mean poor a double of the most expensive bottle you have on the shelf... without asking me. When I saw that he grabbed a small glass, I told him I wanted it in a tall glass (more Diet Coke) so he proceeded to poor a slightly taller glass of regular coke... YEESH! So, he didn't know the difference between a double and a tall. Having explained the intricacies of a tall rum and DC and finally getting something close, he rang me up... $20. It was too late to argue so I took my "premium" R&C and we sat down. The lounge looks nice but the seating is kind of uncomfortable. Would have been OK, but they didn't have the heat on (it was below freezing that evening). So, a word to the proprietor... if you're going to leave a relative or friend in charge of the shop, at least teach him how to mix some basic drinks.. or close the bar, just server beer... in bottles. Too bad, really for a first experience. The place does have potential, looking at other reviews, most people are impressed with it... I may give it a second try, but if you're out looking for a warm place to relax and enjoy a cigar, not the place to go later on a cold evening. read more

We had a small get together at the patio here. It was a nice evening and we had a great time. I'm not a smoker but my friends said they have a good cigar collection. They have good drinks too, but not a lot of options of beer...hope they could have more beer options for people who just go there meet friends and not drink a lot, like me. lol. Went to Royals Cigar Lounge while in town for a hockey game and the experience was very ok. First issue was the lack of sufficient air flow and air quality. The ventilation is inadequate for one person to enjoy a cigar let alone multiple people. So there is a consistent thick haze as you attempt to enjoy yourself. The kitchen is also gone so we could not get so much as a sandwich while we were there. The alcohol selection also left us wanting since they had a sorry selection of beer and whiskey. They have the basics like miller light or Jack Daniels but very little beyond that. Focusing on the humidor for a moment, the humidity was woefully inadequate. Both cigars we tried were so dry that the wrapper was flaking off as we smoked the final third. Overall, if this is your only choice then you can make it work but there are better alternatives available if you don't mind smoking next to a fire or propane heater outside. read more

Its a bar, where folks come to drink and smoke, but they close early and without warning so don't get your hopes up about going there because they are as likely to be closed as they are to be open. When I asked about the hours changing. I was told they've had trouble getting their social media updated for the past 2 years. I was thinking, "For The Past TWO YEARS?" Okay- so this is a place to go to no later than 8 pm. The seating also looking painful to sit on. No wonder they close early; even the staff don't have comfortable lounge chairs to relax in. Drove down to Columbus for the weekend with the wife for a quick get away. Us being the cigar aficionados that we are said that we are definetly going to check out Royale Cigar. Went to the casino first then drove right across the street. Very nice lounge. DJ was playing some tunes and we sat at the bar. Lou was working and take great care of us all night. His hospitality was second to none. He treated us like royalty. We will definetly be back next trip to Columbus! Great cigar selection as well. read more
