This all inclusive opens recently after Marriott International expended their all inclusive footprint in Mexico. It is located around 20 minutes South of the Cancun International Airport. It is also a day trip away to Playa del Carmen, Tulum, White sand beaches and Mayan archeological sites. It is considered an Autograph Collection hotel but frankly that is surprising. It is not matching the luxury standards of other Autograph properties.
We arrived during Springbreak and the hotel was at maximum capacity. The checking process took more than 90 minutes, and the receptionist could not honor our selection of room with two queen beds. We got a junior suite that has a bathtub located in the middle of the room. This was really awkward as we had no privacy in the room with our kiddo. The staff of the hotel was trying to do their best but clearly the facility was overwhelmed.
It is helpful to use your Bonvoy status to get access to their private beach and pool. It is also helpful to tip generously as most Mexican staff are paid $6 per day. So I was generous with all the staff and got great service and attention. We got good access to all specialty restaurants like Hunter, Taj, Ma Maison and Zen with a little bit of planning and a smile. Our favorite was Hunter as their diverse gill selection is excellent and tasty.
The entertainment programs at night are fun; with Michael Jackson being by far my favorite. Grazie restaurant was opened for lunch and dinner and their food was surprisingly great. Their chicken piccata; tomatoes meatballs and tagliatelle di marre were cooked to perfection. Overall we had a positive experience as we decided to enjoy our holidays and not to focus on things that did not work so well. There is room for improvement but this property offers great value. read more
