Wow!! Not only is Royce' a beautiful store with very friendly employees, they probably have some of the best chocolate I've ever had in my life! One of my coworkers told me about Royce and gave me a chocolate bar for Christmas. After eating the bar, I knew we had to come check it out! We got the Au Lait Nama and a Bitter Almond Bar (dark chocolate) and oh my gosh! The Nama is unlike anything else! So smooth and covered in cocoa. Absolutely delicious! Royce chocolates are worth the hype. Glad they finally opened the location in Houston because I use to get my fix while traveling to Vegas. My all time fav is the Nama Chocolate Au Lait flavor but the Champagne Pierre Mignon is a close second. The chocolate is silky smooth and not overly sweet. Great for sharing because it comes with 20 pieces. The fruit bar chocolate is like a white chocolate nestle crunch with tiny bits of dried fruit. Also a great alternative to your typical chocolate bars. The store itself is a little cramp with a lot to choose from but the employees are helpful and informative if you don't know which one to pick. read more

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE mama chocolates, which originate in Japan, I believe. They are soft, melt-in-your-mouth chocolates played with a light dusting of cocoa powder, I think? They are featured often in Asian drama movies and are the go-to gift for things like Valentine's Day, which is where I first heard of it. So I was naturally super excited when they opened here in Houston! I came through here during the store during the holiday season so there was a mini-lune outside. The store front itself is super tiny and you do not get to peruse the store like you would normally do. I am not sure if this is a rule because of Covid rules or new store rules. The counter is in the front right when you walk in and the store is roped off. There is space for a out five people to stand side by side and two deep in the front. They offer you a flyer to look at while waiting in line before entering and will bring things over to show you once you are within the store. They are not offering samples at this time and I am not sure of they will anytime soon with the times we are in, but hopefully soon! Since I have had these before in Chicago, I was able to pick and choose what I wanted fairly quickly. Each box of Mama chocolates (reg, champagne, matcha, white chocolate) were $18 a box. They had regular chocolate bars like Rum raisin chocolate for $8, I believe. Everything is on the pricer side but they were delicious and worth it at least once to see if it is something you like! The mama chocolates do not have a heavy alcohol taste, but the chocolate bars do. If you haven't tried this yes, what are you waiting for?! Go get some! read more

I was greeted with rows of familiar nama chocolates, chocolate covered potato chips, as well as some new products that the employees kindly explained to us while they handed us samples of their new flavored nama chocolate pieces. Haven't had these in a hot minute considering they were so rare and hard to come by in Houston. They're definitely on the pricier side as far as chocolates go, about $18 foot a box of their nama chocolates. I have tried their matcha and au lait flavors, both solid choices. They also seem to sell cookies too, but I'm only familiar with them for their chocolates. Maybe next time I'll get the cookies. They also provide a cooling bag with a small ice pack that guarantees your chocolates will stay cool for 5 hours before they can get into a fridge. After a long anticipation, Royce chocolate has finally opened in Houston! Yay! Center of the shop upon entrance is the Nama Chocolate stand and to the sides are other Royce items. The interior design creats a minimalistic yet classy and upscale atmosphere. I had the opportunity to try the match and milk chocolate with champagne - very good! The matcha nama is a bit too sweet for me but the subtle matcha undertone is very fragnant and fresh - you can tell they did not settle on the quality of the matcha. I really liked the milk chocolate - not too bitter and not too sweet. The champagne brings out the fruitty nutty undertone of the chocolate. It's $18/box and 20 pieces per box - on the pricier side for chocolate, but hey, it doesn't hurt to splurge and treat yourself once in a while. The nama chocolate boxes are packed in a silver insulating bag with ice pack to keep the chocolate cold as you transport them. Very good customer service - the employees were super courteous. There was confusion when I was there, and the employee called out the person whom he thought was cutting in front of me because the employee didn't want that to ruin my experience - wow! (it was just a temporary mix-up but they went out of their way to ensure I had a good shopping experience). When I feel like treating myself, I will definitely return to try their other sweets and other nama flavors. Highly recommended for others to try! read more

I had high expectations for this since I was essentially paying almost $20 for this, but let me tell you, this was no ordinary "box of chocolates". First off, the presentation itself was neat and elegant, and I liked how they have a little shovel to poke each piece of chocolate with. The matcha chocolate was the best piece of chocolate I've ever had: rich, smooth, silky, creamy, you name it. I was honestly blown away by how good it was. I could have easily finished the whole box if it wasn't for my diet. Just due to the price, I probably wouldn't get this regularly unless it was for a special occasion or if it was a gift for someone, but if you're willing to splurge a bit and you want something sweet, definitely give these a shot!
