    Why the roof failed

Do not hire this company! We hired Roy's Home Improvements to put a new roof, gutters, and downspouts on our rental home last spring (2020). Per our contract we paid him $2950.00 (Half) up front and the other $2950.00 would be paid once the job was completed, plus we paid for the dumpster, and the permit from the city to have the job done. Other than the first day(except for the fact a board got dropped through my kitchen ceiling) this job was a complete nightmare. On day two nobody showed which it was Mother's Day so I understood. Day three I go over and find only one man on the roof by himself. On day three I'm also made aware that I not only have a hole in my kitchen ceiling but I also now have protruding nails through my drywall from the roof joists. I called Mr. Roy and at that time he says he will repair the inside after they were done. On day four again only one young man working. On day five I go over and nobody's there, yards still a mess, dumpsters gone, gutters laying in the yard and I've had enough. I call Mr. Roy and at this time I even tell him I think he is in over his head on this project but he assures me everything will be fine. On day 6 they finally finish and he messages me so I told him I would have it inspected in the morning. Mr. Roy became extremely upset with the fact I didn't pay him before the inspection. So much so that I had to ask police for a no trespass order because he threatened to take all the shingles and gutters back off. Thank goodness I didn't pay him before it was inspected because the entire job failed inspection. Even after all this we still offered to allow him to fix his work but he refused and threatened to put a lien on our property. So, we took him to court because he had no insurance (even though he told us he did) and he refused to fix it. Mr. Roy was ordered to pay us 6000.00 for damages which we've yet to receive.

Spoke with Melissa and explained that we had some loose wall tiles along the shower surround and we wanted to repair the issue. We were given a couple options depending on finding the cause of the loose tiles which included either replacing the tiles or replacing the tiles and the backing if damaged. We provided the supplies for this job, so we were prepared for the worse case in needing to replace the backing. The job was completed in the amount of time as estimated and it looks like the original. Only reason not providing five starts is because of some miscommunication / misunderstanding in the job to be completed. I was prepared to replace all tile regardless of additional work needing to be completed on the backing. So, I purchased new 12x12 tile. Well, at appointment time the technician was expecting to repair a section of tile and I didn't have any tile matching the existing. So, on the fly purchased 4x4 tile that is like the existing. Decided to replace the tile for the entire wall and it looks good. I'm a fan! and will keep House Doctors in mind for future repairs, maybe do an onsite review for any larger repairs.

Forgot to do some of the work they quoted, said they would have office contact us to set up a time to come back. After 4 days, and no call, I called and had them send a bill for what was done and had someone else do the other part that was quoted. Painter is here now and finding multiple other spots that need repair or replacement because he is up on a ladder looking. House Doctors was expensive and in my opinion not very thorough. Very disappointed in results.
