Even now as I recall the event, I am shocked at how rational I was behaving under such extenuating circumstances. But I digress. The time was was 7:55 pm on a Friday night. We were 13 minutes away. Yelp indicated A1 closed at 8 PM. We weren't gonna make it. We were going to be stranded on a desert highway with nothing but sasquatch and axe murdered to keep us company at night. While us men were busy occupying ourselves with how we were going to fight off mythical creatures at night, suddenly, our female in the car did the impossible: she called Jasen, the friendly service technician, to see if he wouldn't mind staying open for another ten minutes, due to our obviously dire needs. I took the truck to another muffler shop and an automobile repair shop but neither of those places found what was causing the fumes. The guys at Noisy Boy diagnosed the issue after about 5 minutes and discovered that a donut gasket was not installed between the exhaust manifold and tail pipe on the passenger side.
