Had an oil change done here only to have my oil pan start leaking from the drain plug. Incompetent technician "Kin" used an oversized drain plug and stripped the threads... Had a trans flush done as well. Who knows if that was done to spec...premium price for novice work read more

I was directed to RPM NYC at the recommendation of RCT Performance. I had a skid plate that needed trimming in order to clear my O2 sensor. It was a bit complicated due to the sensor's location on my aftermarket header. As someone who is detail oriented I appreciated the time Tommy took to fully understand the work I wanted to be done. At other reputable shops I was rushed and have sometimes had to take additional steps (printing a checklist) to make sure they did the job right. I got the impression that was not the case with Tommy. After describing some issues with my headers he immediately hoped online to do some preliminary research. Where problems are sometimes met with skepticism at other shops, I did not have to convince Tommy of my issue. RPM NYC is mostly a Honda/Nissan shop, but I will continue to use them in the future whenever appropriate even though I own a Subaru. read more

RPM is my family go to car body repair shop. We are driving two luxury cars (GLC 300 and Panamera) and Tommy always take care of them and deliver to us in their original state. We are very happy with their work and dealings with Tommy are a breeze. Another plus is the location , it is only a block away from LIRR Queens station. Tommie and co is absolutely amazing, I've been treated like family and I couldn't even imagine being with another mechanic. He's been around doing big jobs on Japanese imports for 15+ years and he's still going so strong. I go there for basics like oil changes and brakes, and I go there for performance mods and he helped me out with getting tune and instead of this being business relationship I feel like I've made friends with everyone. Richie is a baller welder and he's got jokes, and Kin is such a cool person to be around with such good vibes. Tyler is such a personality and you won't have a bad time dealing with him. Tony is a master mechanic and he knows his way around engines. Honestly, if you love your job like they do, it's not a job anymore, it's basically fun time and that's the type of people that you want to work on your modified cars, someone with passion. The car community can be toxic here in America sometimes but RPM is the epitome of the JDM brotherhood. One of the best Auto shops in NYC. These guys are very knowledgeable and know what they are doing. I went to 5 shops and none could solve the issue I had with my Honda Accord EX these guys found and repaired the issue in 30 minutes I was impressed. There very professional and careful with your vehicle not many shops can be said of this. The prices are very reasonable. The guys their are very down to earth and are not like most shops trying to get you to buy stuff you don't need. For all you automotive repairs I highly recommend these guys. Two thumbs up read more

Had some fine tuning done here on my supercharged 02 Miata. Needed a dual throttle body set up. Tommy answered the phone when I called and spent close to a half hour listening to my problems and how we could address them. He then gave me a day to bring to car in as they were busy from the holidays. True to his word I brought the car in on that day and his brother Tony took a look. He listened to everything I said and was extremely methodical and enthusiastic. In the end what my prior shop took 3 attempts to fix and never did, these guys did in one day, all at a great price. There is also an LIRR stop 2 blocks away which makes getting into Manhattan or Atlantic Center really easy. Will def have them do all tuning work on my car from now on. Can't say enough good things. read more

Greetings. Tony installed a greddy Sri on my 09 civic si with the help of gooky helped me choose the intake. Great install ands setup. No problems with it at all. Used flashpro, and setup is clean and good performance. Slowly upgrading wish I can go all out but family priorities come first , u know how that goes. But skunk 2 exhaust and header is next. Finally a supercharger with brake upgrade and that's it. Rpm NYC no other shop does it better. read more

Love this place, I just got my first manual car, a Honda Civic Si 2002 (EP3) and they are super helpful with helping me getting the car up to date and running with maintenance and fixing any issues that arise. For example, routine maintenance to check the breaks, they checked it out and called me to confirm I wanted to change the rotors and pads (prior to doing so to avoid any surprises). They answer any questions I have and work with me and my schedule. Really can't say enough of their attention to clients. read more

Where do I start? So my 2013 VW jetta 2.5 se manual made me happy when I bought it as it is my first car. However that thing handled like a boat when going around corners so I decided I needed lowering springs as I have no use For coilovers. Ordered the h&r sport springs online and decided to visit these guys after searching on yelp for a reputable shop in my area that wouldn't rip you off. (I had a previous encounter with them as they helped install a led daytime running light on the left that gave me hell!) Even though they mostly deal with Japanese cars I called them up spoke with Chris and scheduled a day to have the work done. I visited them a few days before to let Chris see what I bought and how the car looked. He went as far as recommending that I replace my stock shocks even though I knew they would need replacement in the near future despite having 17xxxx miles on them. (You would have to pay twice for labor at any shop so why not do it once?) So I went ahead with the koni yellow adjustable sport shocks which Chris offered to order for me. Talk about express delivery as it arrived the next day. I was scheduled on a thursday to have the work done but couldn't because unfortunately my car came with wheel locks and no key (thanks dealership!) so that day was scrapped as I had to revisit the dealer for regular wheel nuts as I waited For them to order a new set of wheel locks with of course a KEY!!! That being said I had to reschedule to the following Tuesday (the wait was overbearing) but Tuesday came nonetheless. I dropped the vehicle off in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. Upon approaching the shop I noticed my vehicle sitting to the side. The drop was def noticeable and I was more than pleased. Went in had some last words with Tommy and Chris and went on my merry way (they were even suggesting intakes as that's possibly my next mod). At first the ride comfort felt very similar to stock as the dampers were left on soft. However the handling difference was night and day. Car is taut and planted. 200 miles later on the shocks and springs, the car is near go cart status (lol). Coupled with the alignment I just received a few days ago everything now sits just right. In my opinion the drop (1.5 inch) is perfect for these horrible New York roads. Anymore I would probably be scraping. Usually word of mouth tends to be the best way to find a place and I was told by a friend about RPMNYC as I was looking for a reputable place to take my 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse for some major work. To start, the temperature of the engine would rise and then lower, the AC was not working and every time I turned it on, a burning small would come right afterwards which I could guess it was the belt and the engine would shutoff with the AC on. (Advise: take care of things before they become a major problem) I was on the fence as I just didn't know what to expect price wise. Arriving to the shop, I was greeted by Christopher, the manager of the shop. I explained to him as best as I could about the problems I was having with the car and within a 20 minutes, they had assessed all of the issues with the vehicle. Chris, went over the parts needed to fix the car and worked with me on selecting the parts that worked best with my budget - OEM Parts. I no time, I was given the quote and it was much better than what I had expected, so I decided to add a tune-up, oil change, rotors and break pads change. It only took 2 days to complete all of the work. Picking up the car, Chris went over all of the changes and showed me how great the car was working - No noises, no overheating and finally working AC. Driving the car, I felt instantly how much better it was running and once again working AC! Overall, it was a pleasurable and easy experience. Most importantly they fixed and worked on what was needed without pushing me to make unnecessary fixes. Looking for a place where they wouldn't rip you off, I highly suggest NYCRPM for auto work. Definitely already have plans on going back. read more

found this shop thru a guy at Honda manhasset where I bought my 2012 accord.... called up, spoke to tommy n asked him a bunch of questions, since I'm pretty ignorant n this field.... showed up at 10am on a saturday with no appointment n my car was taken right inside.... got a cold air intake installed, a new front grill, n 2 new speakers installed also.... great price, good ppl, highly recommend.... read more
