My wife and I saw a deal on Groupon so we decided to try it on date night. It was pretty awesome. Very nice facility and the people there are very friendly. We both had never shot before so they set us up and Robert was our instructor. He gave us a quick training on how to handle the gun and then took us out on the range. Once there he was able to show us how to shoot. He was awesome. Very upbeat, encouraging and he made us feel comfortable in an environment that was totally new to us. First it very nice and modern and great dare night. We walked in they had multiple sign that are very confusing as to what direction a new user should go. We waited in line for 11 minutes just to find out we needed to go by the cafe watch a video and sign in. (Team please fix this logistic issue).not sure why they want folk to get lost in a GUN store. But the folks were very very nice and and SUPERRRRRRRR helpful. Cost?. It was me my brother, 1 pistol and 3 boxes of ammo and target I spent about 150. Not bad very modern range, nice bulletproof glass in every stall, very relaxing and I wouldnt mind going again. read more

Today I went in for the handgun introductory class I have experience with firearms being previous military. Haven't touch a firearm in nearly 8 years, but I don't regret taking the class. My instructor Tom Ventriglia was very knowledgeable especially in the state laws. My goal was just that to get more knowledge on state laws, while I can read them his examples amplified the meaning and understanding to another level. His fun nature to our training made it feel inviting and he even took his time with the females who seemed more nervous but It made them feel safe to do so and made them interested in coming back which is great! I didn't mention it to him ( nor did we speak about it ) but he kinda motivated me to become a range safety officer as I'm working thru this process now to get my firearms license I will be looking into your courses to become certified as one ! Took the holster course with Mike Luzzo, who is a great guy. He was patient, very informative and made sure we pulled from the holster safely and methodically. He even set up the target computer so we could practice shooting from the holster. Mike's holster course is highly recommended. read more

I am from upstate New York and have to travel to New Jersey for work. I am an avid shooter and happened to find RTSP in my search for something to do during my stays in the area. Every visit has been wonderful. The staff is very friendly and the range is modern and clean. This trip down was my first time visiting the Union location, as well as my first opportunity to shoot some of their drills. Mynet was my instructor and she was incredible! Very knowledgeable, and super fun. I shoot often, and shoot a lot of practical pistol matches where you are forced to transition to your weak hand, as well as strong hang, and Mynet ran us through drills that I have never done before, and explained why the drills were crucial with real life examples. Her experience forced you to think outside the box during the drills, even for a relatively experienced shooter. The facility itself is brand new and has a great rental selection as well as firearms and accessories available to purchase, and a Cafe for snacks and drinks (lots of black rifle coffee company, which is fantastic). If you are ever in the area and have the opportunity I highly suggest anyone to check this place out! read more

The range safety officers were always near by if I had a question and were very friendly with giving advice and helpful tips. I highly recommend this range! Awful and ridiculous experience at RTSP. I went to the Union to BUY not to window shop! When i got there they had people lined up outside, i waited in line to sign in and was told a 40 minute wait as there were 8 people ahead of me. I waited my 40 minutes and when i asked for an update i was told there are still 6 people ahead of me, they had lied to me and wasted my time. 3 HOURS later i receive a nasty voice message that i have 5 minutes to make my way in or they will move onto the next person, Really? I took my money elsewhere. They will never see another penny from me, i have never had such an experience at any other shop in NJ or PA. read more

The rtsp staff was very nice and super helpful to me and my girlfriends first time shooting. Our safety instructor Dave was super thoughtful and helped us throughout the whole process while also providing jokes along the way which helped ease any nerves we had. Been to this location 2 times. Once with a party of 9, once with a party of 5. Both times I've had a very pleasant and fun experience. Ample parking, pretty easy to find. They operate currently on a first come first serve basis(FCFS). 8-10AM is prioritized for members only. After 10AM its FCFS. Came on a Sunday both times and they were always super busy. However average wait time was about 45min to 1H 15. There's a bunch of places to eat/shop nearby so that helps kill time. You go in, sign in and they take your #. You then wait outside until they call you in when a spot on the range opens up. It's 3 people per station tops. Overall the facility is super clean and nice. Once you get called in you gotta check in and choose your guns/ammo The queue for that takes another 30 min or so since they gotta get your licenses and take your photo. They have a decent selection of guns, but I see the most variety and selection in their pistols. Pretty sure its because theyre very busy but I dont see that many AR's. Both times I've come I settled for the same rifle because their other rifles were already being rented ( thus the -1 star) You should have a good idea of what you want to shoot once you get to the front because they dont really help you out too much ie going over whats on their menu. As a complete novice and knowing nothing, i didnt know which gun to choose etc. So they kinda just said heres a glock, shoots 9mm and im like cool, that one then lol. That's why I say kinda know what you want to shoot before you come otherwise theyll suggest the go to guns 1911 or glock. The bullets are $20 per box (20) of 223 (rifle ammo) and $35 for 9mm(50) $40 for .45 (50). You not only rent the gun but the time inside the range so you pay for both of that and i believe its by the hour. Ive never stayed past 1 hour so idk how more time works. The ammo goes FAST so pace yourself and rotate! But 2-3 boxes of 9mm 50 rounds per box is good for a group of 4-5 and i'd do like 5-6 boxes of 223. Definitely buy more than needed since if you DONT use the ammo and its a full box, you can always return it AND you dont need to wait on line to get more ammo cause it takes out of your range time. If you happen to have like a few rounds left or like a half box o something, the rangers will give you extra time to just finish the rest. Once you get settled with all that you go inside the range, put your eye/ear protection on and proceed to the double doors. PLEASE OPEN ONE DOOR AT A TIME otherwise people shit themselves in the lobby when they hear a ton of gun fire raw. The range itself is nice, very roomy, tech is alright, its got 5 to 25, max. The rangers that are around to help/protect you guys are the coolest guys. They'll give you some advice, make sure youre not doing anything dangerous or idiotic and theyre just very friendly and happy to help. SUper fun do recommend this place read more

Came here pre-COVID and had a great time. Came here a couple weeks ago, and...not a single staff member wearing a mask. Tons of people either not wearing masks at all, wearing them like chinstraps, or with just their shirt pulled up over their face. Is this a joke to y'all? I left because I was super uncomfortable with that. I don't care how good your air filtration system is or if you're distancing your range booths. If no one is wearing a mask, neither of those precautions matter. The first person I saw was a dude sitting at a desk, mask less, who just stared at me like I had five eyes for approaching him. Hell no. I don't know who told this place they didn't have to enforce masks. read more

The service is very bad . I am a recent retired asian army vet and moved to NJ for my new job. I came looking to buy some hand guns but i was not served " seriously" ; bunch of guys at counters and entrance did not even answer my question or requests of looking at some guns multiple times. I understand such bad behavior is the main reason" NJ is worst state of 2nd A right" indeed! Do not go to this place to buy . I am glad i did not sign up for shooting range membership either.. i strong recommend to go small shops in NJ which is better swrvibg their customer and helped this retired vet to get couple guns with discount as well. read more

Took the basic gun safety course with the my wife. Came for a professional non political gun safety program. Instead about 25 percent of the time was focused on a political rant. More time needed to be placed on the actual handling and use of the gun. Some people due to not knowing this information had difficulty on the range and in my opinion dangerously loaded and pointed their guns. With more focus on what the course was actually about and removing the politics it would have been ok. Overall would not recommend. read more

This was the first time I had fired a gun (coming from the UK) and was a little nervous but was made to feel very comfortable with the process from the outset. When on the range our instructor Jesse was great, making us aware of safety throughout and always had time to explain and have a few laughs when appropriate. What a great experience, would definitely use them again next time I'm in NJ. read more

My fiancee and I had an exceptional experience here. We took a beginners course at the Randolph range with Mason, and I can't think of any way it could have been better. Mason was extremely respectful, informative, thorough, and was sure to make us feel as safe and comfortable as possible throughout the course. I have already recommended him to my friends interested in taking a similar course. Other than that, the facility was spotless and well organized, with a wide variety of services and products available. The worst part of the day was how crowded it was, but its easy to understand why so many people were there after having such a great experience! We will definitely be returning regularly. read more

We rented different Types of guns than normal and he was right there to explain gun safety as well as the proper way to shoot. Being a Beginner this was absolutely THE best advise. Nice facility and amenities, but too many rude range safety officers. There are a few that are awesome, but prepare for unpleasant encounters. I had one range safety officer tap me on the shoulder so he could tell me to slow down. He explained that he doesn't want others to copy me. First off, I'm not responsible for the behavior of others. Second, there's no policy about rate of fire prior to entry into the range. Basically, they take your money, then enforce unwritten rules. And the fact theat they're constantly hovering over you to micromanage these unwritten rules destroys your experience. One of the range safety officers there also thought to given me a mini lecture about how I shouldn't be volunteering to help assist my guests with their first time shooting since their was a gun jam I was unfamiliar with. The problem is that upon entry, I was asked by the staff if I'd be the one to help my guests. I volunteered since nobody else was going to. They offer training sessions for first time shooters, but they don't make the training session mandatory. Therefore , any consequence under which a mandatory training session isn't enforced is a product of their failed policy, and not my judgment. So spare me any lecture on which it's assumed that they know more about life than I do. I gotta say that the officers I was dealing with weren't the smartest. So Id be careful putting your safety in their hands. The range safety officers are there specifically to provide assistance. But when it comes time to working with new shooters they demonstrate themselves to be impatient, arrogant, rude and inconsiderate. Again, not all of the range safety officers are garbage, but there's enough of them to where you all should avoid this place. I brought my family here yesterday to have some fun. I haven't been out with them in over a decade and my father was excited for this experience just so he could take his mind off his cancer diagnosis. But these range safety officers absolutely ruined our experience. Do NOT go here. read more

After spending 45 mins giving them all my information and watching the video, I was told there is also a $50 sign up fee for the 1 month membership. Had a girls night out and this was our first time at this range. Facility was impeccably clean, check in was seamless and every single staff member was helpful, knowledgeable, friendly & professional. Our instructor Alex was amazing! Went out of his way to make sure we had every second of our time and went above & beyond in his instruction.
