Closest place to NYC where you can rent a gun and learn to shoot. Once you walk past the store and enter the actual range you can expect a friendly atmosphere where safety is the business of the day. You can bring a wheelbarrow full of gear and someone there will help you learn to use it, if you don't already know. I have yet to have a problem with anyone there and even the actual owner made sure to introduce himself and shake my hand. Good prices on most of the stuff but I personally recommend buying ammunition online unless you live in NYC where it easily purchased here. Shots shots shots! Everybody!!! Firing ranges are not always the best place to be at for many people as they tend to get nervous, but this place has great staff that will make you feel at ease. They offer safety training before you physically hit the firing range... safety is paramount! With plenty of shooting options, you can have a pleasant time here. My only issue is how expensive it is to shoot. If you do not have your own weapon or shooting gear that can add up to your price... bullets aren't cheap and even shooting paper has a fee. What I got: 0.22 Pistol & Rifle Package (~$155 w tax): includes 1 hour range session for two people, 22 LR pistol, 22 LR rifle, 100 rounds of 0.22 ammo, eye and ear protection, and 4 targets Aya's take: We came here on July 4th and what better way to celebrate than with our second amendment right to bear arms! We got here around 2pm and they weren't busy at all. You first fill out a form and then proceed to watch an ~8 min training video. Once you watch the video, an instructor will bring you into a room where they go over how to use the guns you will have. In this case, he went over the pistol and rifle. He signs a paper saying you've attended the safety briefing and you can go back to the front to select what package, guns/ammo, etc. you want. This whole process takes about 30 minutes so definitely expect to spend about 2 hours here overall. Our instructor Tom was in the shooting range with us and was super helpful throughout our entire session. It was an awesome experience for my first time at a shooting range. They have an efficient process and seem quite knowledgeable on the world of guns. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun activity! The instructors are cordial, responsible, and very safety oriented. They do a great job. The front desk however, a whole other story. Why become a member for $750/year and have a whole dedicated line for "members" when member wait almost 30 minutes like everyone else to register to use the range. Specifically the guy with the aqua-green fake Rolex was dismissive, callous and just didn't seem to care. The rest of the staff however, are on point. I probably wont be going back for a while. This establishment stole my money. My brother and I went to this range looking to send some shots down range. When we hit the counter to pay, the cashier informed me that the payment did not go through. I wasn't sure why the payment did not go through, but I gave him a second card. He informed me that the payment was successfully processed on the second card. A few days later I looked at my banking app and I noticed the same transaction posted on both cards. I range and they asked me to send an email detailing the incident. I sent the email with screen shots showing the charges on both cards. I never received a response to my email or follow-up emails. After calling the range a few times I was able to reach the manager who put me in touch with the bookkeeper who acknowledged a mistake was made. He saw it their system and told me he processed a refund that should appear in 5-7 days. That was on December 4th 2025 almost 2 months ago. I've called back at least 10 times, and now the manager and bookkeeper are never available. This is terrible business practice and extremely shady. Very disappointing. read more

I transferred a gun for purchase to Long Shot through an online seller, and the staff were incredibly helpful. Kevin, the owner, was incredibly patient throughout the whole process and was incredibly generous with his time. You can tell the staff here care about what they do. Overall my experience here at long shot was a 1/5 stars and I certainly do not recommend , unfortunately upon arrival the cashier employee (BRANDON) was in a bit of a rush for whatever reason too hand off my equipment, after that I entered my bay where I would begin my shooting I then asked the employee (JOSE) who if im not mistaken was there too " assist " those who were in need of it nonetheless It was hard to tell that was his job considering his attitude insisting it was I who wasn't following directions ? soon after that assumption we got Down too the REAL PROBLEM which was that BRANDON ( the cashier from the beginning) handed us the wrong weapon , go figure things like that would happen when you aren't doing things the right way the very first time Not ONCE BUT TWICE THIS HAPPEN , now I wouldn't care too much if I didn't pay for the 60 minutes for all this foolery to happen but Infact unfortunately . Again I truly wish I could make something like this up on my birthday at that but unfortunately I can't and it is what it is . 3 of us came, excited to try out this shooting range, and there was a notice that mentioned the 3rd person for an extra $20, for the premium pistol package. However upon registering after, the fat female staff informed us that only 2 are allowed, and the third has to pay for the full package as only two are allowed. It sounded strange considering that they had the prices listed huge on their boards. If they had a change in rules and prices, it should be listed. Great place for a few friends to spend time when you run out of things to do. Shooting a pistol was a. We experience. I went with 2 friends and for an hour we took turns shooting. You first have to sign an agreement, watch an 8 minute safety video, and then someone from the staff actually teaches you how to shoot with an empty gun. This being the first time holding a gun, I was a bit terrified...but after a few times, got the hang of it and was eager to hit the target. My first time with experiencing shooting real gun. It was a fun and exciting I still didn't get used to the sound, lol. Because it was my first time at Longshot Pistol and Rifle. Fun experience. Not COVID friendly, so I'm taking away 2 stars for that. Someone literally had her mask hanging from one ear lobe and talked to us, and even handed us the pistol and rifle. Our RSO had a pretty soiled mask that kept on falling off his face as he spoke to us. Came in on a Sunday morning and only had to wait about 0 minutes (We have been trying to get in at other ranges with a two hour plus wait for over two weekends.). My buddies and I just needed to purchase some targets and off we went to practice. We spent about an hour and half here and shot about well over 400 rounds total. The prices here are great compared to other ranges; also it is a good range for first time shooters, novice like me to expert. There is plenty of space and the customer service here is pretty good as well! The range is a little hidden gem as it is located next to UPS in Secaucus. This review is in response to the terrible customer service shown by range/rental manager KATE each and every time I have been to Long Shot. She might be the worst person to talk to at this business and she for sure drives away customers and money. I have given this place about 5 chances and I am completely turned off because of KATE. Any time I have a question on price, she gives attitude as if I do not deserve an explanation (receipts do not break down prices), I ask about firearm options she tells me to "read the website", I mentioned how I work at another gun range, she says "why don't you go there and shoot"..... She needs to learn about customer service and firearms before giving attitude to customers while you have an empty business, I think I was one of 2 customers in the entire place. You should be as nice as possible given these times and circumstances. Hey KATE, I tried to give your gun range some money, try out your firearms and experience Long Shot because it's actually closer to home, I spend 40 hours per week working at my gun range, and even though I can shoot for FREE at my job, I wanted new people, new firearms and a new vibe.... but you definitely killed that in multiple ways. KATE was actually not even involved in the conversation, she rudely just jumped in and started being rude because she was ease dropping on the conversation that Seth was handling perfectly. I hope the owner or higher managers can recognize KATE's terrible customer service and firearm knowledge sooner rather than later before she runs out too many customers. ***WARNING*** They have jacked up the prices by double the amount and give you attitude when ever you ask for an explanation. Let me start by saying that the staff are exceptional. Always friendly and willing to help. But as a shooter who has been coming here for a while the facility is being poorly maintained. At first it was wonderful and though now it is still clean and functional. There are areas that are being neglected. The bay lighting is poor beyond 25 yard making shooting the poorly lit 50 more of a hassle than fun. The target lines have a 50/50 Chance of getting stuck because of poor springs at the 50 yard mark. Don't get me wrong the place is great for first time shooters but for someone who shoots regularly and has frequents other ranges there is room for improvement in these simple areas. I will still be visiting the range as it is the most convenient because of its location. read more

Personally it was okay. The place is very expensive with very limited bullets to shoot you would definitely wanna go with your own gun. The workers were all friendly especially the really tall guy in the front with the big beard super sweet and welcoming. There is one worker that was absolutely horrible. He worked a at the desk where they sell all the guns in the area where you go to watch the introduction video. He's abt 5'7 Black with a low buzz cut. He was one of the rudest workers i've experienced in a while. Came in and he wasn't responsive gave limited short answers and didn't even acknowledge us half of the time. He continued to speak with attitude and some type of authority? It was a really strange way of acting it seemed to be like as if we was trying to impress the other workers while acting this way. It made me never even wanna go back there to be honest. He ruined the experience i would highly recommend going somewhere else because this guy will ruined your day. Even while we were in line he let these people go in front of us acting like he didn't even see we were in line. It's ridiculous. I came here to shoot some guns with my brother. The range was very clean and professional, all the staff there were pretty helpful and friendly. The gun instructor we had was very well informed and helpful. I will definitely be coming back to this place in the near future. A nice tip I'll give anyone who wants to shoot. While I was leaving, there was a group of people coming in who wanted to shoot, the only thing is, they reeked of cannabis and were told they could not shoot. So lesson is.. don't come in under the influence of anything! And you'll be good to go. read more
