We moved away from Sherwood park a couple years ago and when visiting this week decided to go to rhuamit Thai for dinner. The food was as tasty as we remember it. Our favourites being salad rolls ( the freshest ones I've had ) and the pad Thai. The server Avery recommended his favourite dish ... I think it was number 52 - a spicy / crispy rice dish. I never really order rice dishes at Thai restaurants but it was very nice and a great new recommendation. I feel all the good here is likely great. Small kitchen / family owned feeling. We had a family date in Sherwood park and my kiddo wanted Thai food. We decided to try the Ruamit Thai. It actually has been around for years, which is interesting that I have never heard of it. Really cute inside. Nice colors and love all the travel photos of Thailand on the walls. Our server was friendly enough and attentive, filling up our water glasses promptly and checking on how we enjoyed everything. We wanted to try a variety of things...we started with the Ruamit Platter where we could try 3 appetizers. We decided on the spring rolls, the salad rolls, and the Thai fish cakes. It was generally average. Nothing was unpleasant, but nothing was standoutish. Luckily, all the other dishes were better that followed the appetizers. For main dishes we tried the Green Curry Chicken (green curry with chicken, coconut milk, snap peas, mushrooms, bell peppers, broccoli, and basil leaves), The Masamun Nua (beef cubes with coconut milk, peanuts, potatoes and onions), Coconut Rice, and Pad Thai Krung Tep (rice noodles with egg, chicken, green onion, bean sprouts and peanuts) . Everything came out fresh, hot, and fragrent. I really, really enjoyed the flavours of the green curry chicken...it seemed like the coconut milk really enhanced the other flavours in the dish. My husband was pleased with the amount of beef in the Masamun Nua, although I didn't find the flavours as complex as the curry. The best dish though, was the Pad Thai. Excellent flavour balance...sweet and sour, tangy and savoury, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I would love to try the other pad Thai offered here. Generally, perhaps a little more in price than other establishments in Edmonton, but not so much more that it too noticeable. I definitely would be back to explore the menu, but perhaps skip the appetizers and try instead another curry. read more

What a rip-off and the rip-off ruined our night out. Ordered the Green Curry Chicken $16.95 and the Garlic Pork $17.95. When the two dishes came to our table we were dumbfounded by how tiny they were. We looked at each other with disbelief. There wasn't enough there for one person let alone two. To make make matters worse, the curry was a thin watery soup with a minuscule amount of chicken and the same with the small plate of Garlic Pork. Maybe five small pieces of pork. No wonder the waitress asked us if we wanted rice. I now regret eating it and should have just paid what we owed and walked out. Should have taken pictures. read more

Disappointed in size of dishes. Portions are TINY even with rice and not delicious enough to be worth that price. We have 2 young kids and usually order two dishes to share with sides of rice when we go out to eat. This is usually enough for us to eat satisfied with a little bit of leftovers. We ordered two dishes and cooked rice at home due to the price. Both dishes had only 5-8 small (I say small generously) pieces of meat. After ordering food from them, we had to go get more food somewhere else. read more

Expensive, small portions and squid was NOT good. We ordered traditional dishes. Green curry, pad Thai , beef and squid. Curry and beef were VG. Squid was very fishy, not good. Rice was also good. 5 dishes with rice was $100, and barely fed 4. Really No left overs. We had takeout, so no comments on service. Unfortunately our 2 favorite Thai places in the Park are closed Mondays, so gave these guys a try. Love to support local but, Cannot recommend. read more

I was there September 21. 2015 around lunch time. Outer door was broken. Place was empty. Carpet was filthy from winter foot traffic. Table service OK. Ordered $ 10.95 red chili dish which was a big glob of white jasmine rice and a small bowl of -- I think -- bamboo shoots and large pieces of red and green peppers in a spicy thai sauce. Sauce was nice. It seemed overpriced to me for the small amount of food. Might go back if they have a buffet instead. Everything on the menu was $ 10.95 which I found odd. Seemed to me that the owners were new small business owners trying their best but they need to work on some improvements. read more

We recently visited this restaurant in Sherwood Park. It's cozy and was quite busy for a Saturday at 6pm. But, we were seated promptly. The service was attentive. Even as the restaurant continued to fill with guests. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty. We really enjoyed the pad Thai fried Rice. Would come here, again. read more

Went for the first time during the lunch hour. Buffet was set up and it must have been assumed by the server that would be the only reason we'd be there. Though there were only two other tables occupied we sat, and sat, and sat and sat and were not acknowledged until I spoke up. No menu, prices, drinks were offered for over 5 minutes. I understand that most folks likely come in for the buffet at lunch but I would have appreciated being greeted and been asked if that's what I wanted. Food was decent. I've had some great Thai food and some no-so-great Thai food, this place is in the middle. Not bad, but the Edmonton area must have better to offer. read more

Wandered here by accident while trolling through Alberta. Cute little place with an excellent authentic food. Kind of north east Thai style of cooking but amount of spice can be adjusted by request. Also emphasis on healthy and fresh ingredients. Real treasure in this sleepy town. read more

I would say their best dish is the pad Thai. It has a really good flavour and they make their own sauce. It's not ketchupy like the other Thai restaurants. You can also ask for additional spice on the side.... the other dishes were average. If it weren't for Groupon not sure if we would be coming back. Prices are on the higher side and being a bit tucked away isn't worth the drive. read more

First time I are here. We ordered take out and indulged at home. I was really happy with the flavours and spiciness of the dishes we ordered. Not uncomfortable hot. Just enough to make your nose run and boost the tastiness of the dishes. One downfall was the lack of protein in the dishes. There didn't seem to be enough considering the main reason we ordered some of the dishes was for pork, shrimp etc. As for pricing. It was a bit on the pricey side. Don't know if I would come back. We have visited Ruamit several times over the past few years. It is consistent, delicious, and overall wonderful. On this particular visit I had the green curry, which is spicy with a hint of coconut. It has become my favorite dish over the dozen or so times we have been here. Also at the table was their garlic shrimp, which is a great entry level dish for someone who hasn't had Thai before. We opened with the salad rolls, which were fresh and amazing with the peanut sauce. Service is always good. Never had any problems. read more

Have not gone back in a year due to the food quality. The service was fine, but there is no excuse for the chewy chicken, which appeared to be right out of the microwave. I'm honestly not sure how this place stays in business. I've heard other people say their lunches are great, but I'll never go back based on my horrible experience. read more

The food was spectacular tonight as well as the excellent service we received. There were 9 of us so we ordered 6 dishes plus jasmine and coconut rice for our group. The pad thai was the tastiest I've ever had. The green curry chicken was also bursting with flavour although the portion was slightly small for the price. This is our favourite Thai food restaurant in Sherwood Park. The Pad Thai is wonderful. We always order to go. The restaurant it self is small and intimate. But perfect with wine by the fire at home on a cold winter night. read more

I've eaten at a number of Thai restaurants in the Edmonton area, and was very impressed with Ruamit Thai. I did a take-out, and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I left to do some errands, came back in 25 minutes, paid, and the food was just being finished for me. Right on time! All the food was very tastey! Our favourite was the Panang Kai (curry chicken with coconut milk), though the Basil Beef and the Cashew Chicken were also fabulous. Very flavourful. The two chicken dishes had just the right amount of spice. The beef dish was not spicy, but still tasted great. Prices were OK - maybe a a little on the high side. The only downside is I wish they gave a discount for take-out orders. I'll definitely be going back! read more

Service is fine, they don't hover or ignore. The soup with coconut and shrimp was good, but a very small portion for what you got. The Matsuman is tasty, but I've had it much better at other places. The beef was very tough and dry, despite being in a tasty sauce. The coconut rice is very good. This place would do in a pinch if your craving Thai food. read more

We had dinner here last night for my birthday and it was not good at all. We ordered Chicken Pad Thai and they brought us Shrimp Pad Thai. As soon as our server brought it to our table I pointed out their mistake. She went back to the kitchen and came out and told us "Shrimp special for you, don't worry, it costs the same as chicken" They did not replace the mistaken order AND they charged us for it. My husband HATES shrimp and it should have been fixed. Another dish we ordered was Cashew Chicken. It was inedible. It tasted so strongly of fish none of our party could stomach it. We left it on the table and when we told our server, her reply was "there is fish sauce in it". I regularly cook with fish sauce, it is meant to give a salty flavour, not an overwhelming rotten fish flavour. We will not be returning to Ruamit nor will we recommend this restaurant. We are pretty forgiving people and had they replaced our incorrectly ordered Pad Thai or not charged us for the inedible chicken (or again replaced it) I would have given them another chance. Price is a little steep but the quality & authentic nature of their cooking is great. Awesome, hidden gem in sherwood park.
