I got delivery from LOFT Thai Eatery a while back. I tried their Tom Kha Gai, Braised Duck Confit Curry, and Thai Green Curry with coconut rice. The Tom Kha Gai was quite good and definitely worth the value. The braised duck also stood out: the meat tasted like it was marinated before (perhaps in salt water) to give it a bit more of a firmness and flavour and the curry complemented it well. This texture and flavour is less common in Edmonton from my experience so it's worth a try. The Thai Green Curry and the coconut rice was quite bland though...so I'd rate them 7.8/10 read more

This place has been on my 'to-go' list for over 8 years, and I finally made the commitment to come here! I say 'commitment', as it's located in a small street mall with a limited number of other businesses in a relatively industrial area of Mill Woods, so one would have very little reason to drive by this place (unless you work or live in the area). There is ample parking as the street mall parking lot was very empty, even on a Saturday evening. The restaurant itself is quite small and has a cozy modern atmosphere with cute decor and a brick wall. There were ~7-8 tables that seat 4 people each, but some of the tables can be put together for larger groups. To start, we ordered their Real Crab Meat Rangoon: crab meat with cream cheese wrapped in wonton wrappers and deep fried. It sounded delicious, but left us a little disappointed as it didn't taste much like crab or cream cheese for that matter. We also felt that they were overfried, as the wrappers were quite crisp and the filling had dried out, likely owing to the rangoons being under-stuffed. I can imagine this being an amazing appetizer if they upped the amount of stuffing they put into the wrapper. We also ordered their Thai Green Curry to share; we were worried this wouldn't be enough for the two of us, but combined with the appetizer, the portion of this dish was enough to fill both of us up! We were extremely impressed with the green curry; it had just the right balance of sweet and spicy. I do wish it came with a little more variety of vegetables though, such as eggplants and basil/spinach. First impression from outside we were definitely worried there wasn't any seating but once you get inside they do have about six tables! The interior is well decorated and has a nice feel to it, very in house small restaurant that is very cosy and welcoming. We ordered the crabmeat Rangoon appetizer and the Green Curry (We are getting it mild as my significant other doesn't love the heat). The Real Crab Meat Rangoon, very tasty for an appetizer but unfortunately I felt they were a bit overdone as mine were very crunchy on the outside and the inside didn't have a lot of crab flavour. We could definitely smell the crab though which was very nice. The Green Curry, beautiful presentation of the dish as I did not expect the plating to look this nice when you first think curry. Very very good, really love the flavour and it's very rich and smooth and with just a hint of spice which is perfect. Large portion size as well since you not only get the curry but also a bowl of rice. Round of applause for this dish and will def recommend!! read more

Amazing Thai food! After 5 days in Banff&Jasper, we're dying for Asian food and luckily we found this place! The appetizer chicken Satai (the award winning one) is great! The chicken is fresh and well cooked, pita is hot and soft, and the sauce is delicious. The spicy seafood spaghetti is tasty as well. Tho it has 3 chili on the menu but to me it's not super spicy. Seafood contains shrimp, mussels and clams. My favorite dish is the duck confit curry with coconut rice. Great curry! Loved the coconut crunch on the rice. I was able to meet one of the owners, Rebecca, a few days ago and she is simply lovely. She showed us the decor and how they did it all themselves. Loft has been open for about two years now, and I think due to the location they mostly do delivery. I think it is worth it to go into the location itself because it is lovely and the customer service is great! I had the Pad Thai (Vegetarian), and my partner had the Pad Thai Flatbread and a salad I believe. It was great. It didn't take long and we got our food within about 15 minutes. Not bad at all! I would absolutely recommend this place to people and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying some of their curry items. read more

I wanted so badly to LOVE it here after drooling over their social media for months, but it just didn't hit the spot for me. It's a very small place in a tucked away plaza with just a few tables to sit at. I did notice a steady line of delivery pick ups and take out orders, so they are definitely busy. Service was ok, not overly attentive, but not super slow either. Drinks were kept refilled and our food came out in a decent amount of time. The menu is a modern-fusion take on Thai, so it's not where I would go if I'm craving straight up Thai food. We tried the arancini (it was ok, large portions but the meat inside was very very heavily seasoned and I didn't love the flavour),the rama salad (it was soooooooooo good. I would come just for this!), the seafood drunken noodles (so salty; we actually couldn't finish this) and the duck confit (I could drink that sauce. So so good.) Overall, it was a neat place to check out but I'm not sure it's the top of my list unless I'm in the area and wanting something very specific - like that salad! read more

I super like this place. It is a trendy little restaurant. It is small so be warned if you're going to be there during a lunch rush that it might be a bit of a wait. But it is worth it. The process moves at a good enough pace that you never actually feel like you're waiting, or at least I haven't. They have a good, but small selection. Menus that are too big make the ordering process too long. Lots of curry to enjoy. They have bottles and fountain beverages. Portion wise they are good. Tried this last week. As we rolled up, looked like a typical strip mall restaurant. As we walked to the door, it got better. As we entered, it looked even better. This is one of the best Thai restaurants in Edmonton! The interior is small but modern and lively. There are a few tables and a bar facing the kitchen. The staff is very friendly and welcoming! We started with the Thai iced teas and they were wonderful, they had a strong tea flavour that's balanced very nice with the condensed milk. The appetizer we choose were the delicious zap wings and I wish he had ordered the zap battered shrimp as well as they were the special that day! The entree I ordered was the Braised Duck Confit curry with coconut rice and it was unbelievable! It is definitely the best braised duck I've had possibly ever. As if all that food wasn't enough already, we also ordered the lava cake and ice cream, as expected it was delicious as well! So, I heard a lot of hype from this place, and I love Thai food and thought I would give it a go. I am not sure who else is eating here, but it really didn't stand out in terms of Thai dining. The place itself is small but clean....not much to say for ambiance. Our server was pleasant enough but not exceptional. I will give it a star for the interesting twist on Thai eating. For example we ordered the Mac and Cheese with prawns, and the Thai Arancini....which would be unheard of in most Thai restaurants. We also ordered the Thai green curry with chicken and the Thai red curry with beef...and coconut rice on the side The food was okay. And I really mean okay. Nothing out standish...and nothing I would go back for. The curries were average in taste and composition. The arancini were interesting...deep fried rice balls wrapped in bread crumbs, filled with Thai spiced minced pork and ginger cilantro aioli. They actually were well done but not super flavourful. The mac and cheese -Serpentini pasta sautéed with pineapple, tomato, onion in LOFT house made sweet and sour sauce, topped with mozzarella did not work well. Sweet and sour does not go well with the cheese. In general, these dishes were cooked well but lacked the flavour that one would want in Thai food. For whatever reason reviews are good on this place. This restaurant is a tiny place on the middle of an industrial area. The dishes really cater to non-spicy palates with several dishes that are way too sweet and too runny (i.e.. Both the green and the red curries are very soup-y, non spicy and almost sugary). The place also caters to more Western taste with a number of dishes that are neither thai nor fusion (i.e. Stake and ribs). I ended up here with family on a celebration. I made reservation at 8 not knowing that their kitchen closes around 8:15-8:30 (this wasn't mentioned anywhere on OpenTable and reservations are allowed up until 15 minutes before the kitchen closes!). While we were there, we ordered our mains and the waitress didn't indicate the kitchen was closing so we couldn't make further orders for dessert or anything past 8:30. By 9 we were already out. The bill came to $120 for three dishes and an appetizer and without alcohol. read more

Went to the LOFT the first time tonight. It is in a strip mall just off 75th street. A small place. I counted seating for 30 people if every chair is taken. Skip the Dishes drivers were in and out for the entire 90+ minutes we were there. While the decor is not "fancy", the bar area gives it a bit of a classy look. I ordered the pork ribs with their own glaze. My wife had the red curry with chicken and coconut rice. Both were excellent and artistically presented. My ribs were very tasty. My wife thought her curry had great flavour and just enough spice. Since it was Valentine's Day we were given a free serving of champagne at the end of the meal - and it was quite nice. The service was a bit slow, but the waitress was friendly and helpful. By the time we left every seat in the restaurant was taken. Not only was the food excellent, the pricing was very reasonable. We will definitely come here again and recommend this place to friends. I'm glad my wife suggested that we go here rather than the restaurant I had suggested to her (which was also twice as expensive). Overall, a genuine 5 star experience! read more

Located in a strip mall on the east side, this hidden gem is getting quite the reputation. Made a last minute reservation on Open Table and drove rather quickly from the west end and got there right on time. Looking at it from the outside, it doesn't really stand out with its back to the main road and generic strip mall frontage. Inside, it's modern and designed well to fit as many tables as they can without having other patrons sitting on top of you. The service is friendly and quick, only knock was that our mains came out a few mins apart which is a bit annoying, but my dish was worth the wait. The menu is a mix of traditional Thai, more modern Thai and Thai fusion dishes. My dining partner and I shared the Thai Arancini balls, an an attempt at Thai Italian fusion, the deep fried balls were stuffed with coconut rice and pork, they were tasty but I wished they had a bit more of a Thai influence. We also shared a special of the day, a fried shrimp with a siracha aioli, which were crunchy, lemony and very tasty. The best dish of the night was the green curry, it was possibly the best I've ever had. Smooth and velvety curry sauce, vibrant green colour, beautifully fragrant, delightfully tender beef and colourful crisp vegetables. The coconut rice came with some crispy onion on top which added a lovely crunch. Daily creative specials, beautifully prepared food, fair prices. I will be back, and I'm going to explore the more fusion side of the menu next time, or, I may just end up sticking with the best green curry I've ever had. Go here. read more

I ordered take out last night from Loft and was very disappointed. I had the rama tofu which was crunchy tofu sautéed in rich creamy peanut sauce and market vegetables. It came with a side of rice and I upgraded to coconut rice for an extra $1. The vegetables were broccoli, peppers, bean sprouts and carrots. There were only 2 small pieces of red pepper, 2 slices of mushroom and the carrots were literally still raw. The coconut rice was not very flavorful either. It actually tasted like plain rice. The pad thai was not any better to say the least. Tasted like ordinary noodles. I was very unsatisfied with the quality and also didn't help the portions were small for the price. I think the pad thai was $17 and the rama tofu was $18 including rice upgrade. read more

This place is a MUST! I've been to many Thai restaurants in Edmonton, and here is one of the Edmonton best! The restaurant is relatively small but cozy modern, clean, and comfortable (seriously!). The food is absolutely incredible--we had Arancini (a great starter), Seafood drunken Bucatini (if you love spicy food, you cant go wrong with this), and Braised duck curry (this one was a WOW! like WOW!, you must try this killer duck!). Also you must leave room for Mango with sticky rice and ice-cream-O-Rotee, by far my favourite. The service is brilliant, friendly staff (the hostesses are very nice and kind, and of course pretty!!). I double highly recommend this place. If you have never been, just go! Avoid eating in during covid- it is very tiny inside and does not seat over 12. The food was average. Not amazing by any means but not bad. I got the Thai Mac and cheese with tofu, which had sticks of hard carrots in it which didn't seem to fit the dish, but the rest of the ingredients, the tomato, the peppers and onions, went well with it. It wasn't your typical Mac and cheese, it was a tomato base sauce with mozerella on top. My partner go the pad Thai- it tasted like feet. We also got the spring rolls, which were good. Came here for the first time for a quick lunch with my mum. It's a cold windy October day-the skies are grey. The red Thai curry warmed us up-it was delicious. Found this place randomly searching Yelp and decided to give it a try. My husband and I love Thai food but we have a favourite spot in Edmonton that not many places compare to but after going to LOFT I must say it can definitely compete! They had a mixture of Thai and new age fusion dishes which is sure to cater to a variety of demographics. The place is small but clean with modern decor and the wait staff was polite and attentive. We thought the dishes were excellent in both presentation and taste (we order the green curry, pad Thai and cashew chicken with coconut rice which was delicious!)
