Finally decided to do our estate planning and I found David through a legal service I signed up for at work. Prior to our meeting he explained what I needed to bring. First meeting was great. He took the time to explain our options. Few weeks later we went in to sign everything when a minor spelling mistake was noted in one of our nephews names which was an easy fix. His staff were very good about communicating through e-mails. When we picked up our documents there were instructions and checklists for all of the changes our accounts needed. I found Mr. Rubin through a legal service I signed up for at work. My wife and I met with attorneys from two different firms on the list to see who we thought would be a better fit. The other attorney was clearly too busy for our business. Mr. Rubin, on the other hand, was very polite, knowledgeable, and patient through the whole process of setting up our trust. He answered all our questions in a way we could understand and never rushed us. When I picked up our documents, everything was neat, organized, and exactly as we had discussed. We called on 12/06/22 and scheduled the first appointment. Mr. Rubin's office canceled the appointment the day before and rescheduled for 1/31/23. Mr. Rubin was at least half an hour late to our first meeting, at the end of which he scheduled the second appointment for 2/14/23. We arrived on time for the second appointment and Mr. Rubin was late again. While we were waiting for him, I searched CaseNet. According to CaseNet, Mr. Rubin had a court hearing at 9 AM which was the time of our appointment. Mr. Rubin was 48 minutes late to our second appointment and explained his tardiness by saying, "Rain poured through the ceiling and we all had to move to the other side of the court." After the documents were signed, Mr. Rubin said that we will receive a phone call in 2 weeks to pick up the envelope. I was confused about the timing because Mr. Rubin had previously told us that the documents don't have to be filed with the court. I asked, "Why will it take 2 weeks?" Rubin yelling, "My staff can't drop everything and work on your documents. I have other cases." I, "I didn't ask to have documents today. I asked what will happen during these 2 weeks." Rubin, "We have to make documents look right for the court and make copies." I, "What do you mean 'make look right for the court'?" Rubin, "You will see it when you get the documents." Assuming Mr. Rubin's assistants photocopy documents within 2 weeks as was promised, it will take nearly 3 months from our first call to prepare routine estate planning documents involving the only child inheriting everything from his parents. read more

I plead not guilty to a minor traffic offense (Complete stop at stop sign) because I wasn't guilty. When I contacted Mr. Rubin who was on my firms prepaid legal service referral list I got the following response: "I am not interested in a trial. If you want to plead not guilty- and you certainly can- then you should hire a different attorney or represent yourself. My interpretation and this is only my personal opinion is that he was saying; I'll take your money if I can just call my prosecutor buddy and change it to a illegal parking ticket so the county makes more and I get paid for 5 minutes of work..... But that is just a personal opinion of his intent. ********* Update:5/4/2018: Represented myself and won. Case was dismissed. No fine. No court costs. Filed a MO Sunshine Request asking for the dashcam video on patrol car. Prosecutor dropped the case. If I plead guilty, it would have been a lie. Isn't it a crime to lie in court under oath? Mr. Rubin mentioned below that I didn't tell him I had a prepaid Legal Service agreement. After Mr. Rubin's text stating that he wasn't interested in a trial I responded verbatim; "I'll let ARAG know. Your were on their preferred list for my prepaid legal service through my employer". He responded to that text: "Well, again, I am happy to negotiate for you but not to plead not guilty and go to trial". With that said, I am raising my rating from the initial rating of 1 to a 3. While the system is frustrating, it is all about making "deals". Just because Mr. Rubin chose not to handle my case, it doesn't mean he is a bad attorney. He is a business person, as well as an attorney and he has a right to choose his clientele and cases. read more

I was charged with two traffic violations that could have resulted in serious consequences for me. I contacted David Rubin and, to my immense relief, he was able to get the more serious violation dismissed. The other violation was speeding, and Mr. Rubin was able to get that reduced to a parking violation. All I had to do was pay a small fine and everything was resolved. I did not even have to appear in court. I hope never to be in this situation again, but if I ever am, I will certainly call Mr. Rubin. read more
