The location itself is fine, the staff are friendly and the restaurant is well maintained. Food took longer than expected and for the amount I paid I was really expecting more than like 15 fries and a burger barely the size of my palm. Also the corn that came with my partner's order was lukewarm at best. I know it's a Ruby Tuesdays but come on even Applebees is more generous with the portions. Fine food but overpriced for what it is and the portions it serves. Our first time eating dinner here was a mediocre experience. My wife and I had the soup and salad bar. I enjoyed the bowl of broccoli and cheese soup, but it was very small. The salad bar had plenty of choices, including four kinds of greens and over 30 items to dress our salads. The waittress was pleasant, but was over extended. Almost 20 minutes later, I received my order. Had I not already paid I would have walked out. I had an order a few months ago, and had a similar experience, but I decided to give them another try. The "6 oz" steak looked like microwaved hospital food and was well done when asked for medium rare. Salmon was uncomfortably room temperature. Everything just looked kind of sad and scary. Some of the water cups were cracked and one leaked water the entire time. Mozzarella sticks were as good as expected. I hate writing bad reviews but after my experience here I don't have many nice things to say about it. When we first walked in greeted with most of their staff sitting in the waiting areas on their phones, even with other customers in the restaurant. We were sat and my friend tried to order a mojito, which they had on their menu a few months ago and we didn't realize was no longer on the menu. Our waitress said she had never heard of it and looked out our friend like they were spouting seven heads for asking for it. We then ordered a rose sangria and bloody Mary's. It took quite some time for our drinks to arrive and when they did come they were gross. The rose sangria as not sangria just tasted like chardonnay with pink in strawberry thrown in. The bloody Mary's were just spicy tomato juice with no alcohol in it. We ordered our food and they had been out of a lot of things. The steak had come and it had been over cooked and looked sad. I ordered a second drink which took over 30 minutes to receive in a mostly empty restaurant, by the time in came we already done with our meal. When in was time to pay they bring the card reader out to you and hover over you while you sign and tip making it rather uncomfortable. Something must be done about modern mid day poor service at restaurants. Whether it is the people, food, or environment that disappoints, there is an epidemic of business failures during off peak hours. Everything was going well up to the point of sitting down at the table to order. The table behind us was returning a plate not properly prepared. Not influenced by first impressions, we ordered. Our afternoon lunch included an appetizer of mozzarella sticks, pretzle sticks and three dips. All good til main course showed up. The Roast Beef Philly tasteless, with what must have been meat substitute. Lack of the usual smell of freshly grilled vegetables on sandwhich topped it all. It went back. The salad bar had about forty ingrediants to stack and blend into a healthy garden salad which also included cheeses and some meats. There was a mess from the lunch rush which ended nearly two hours prior. Salad fixins transplaced into other ingrediants and all over the bar. Still able to have a fine salad after skimming through the wreckage. During the meal, another table sent back improper or bad tasting food. We decided give this Ruby Tuesday in Vidalia GA another chance. Hubby ordered the roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and Texas toast. Sounds good right? WRONG! It was served in a bowl type platter, and It was disgusting. Tasted like it had been bagged up in freezer then an attempt warm it up. The roast beef was mushy, the mashed potatoes was like soup, the vegetables were shriveled up and the Texas toast was burnt and laid in the broth. I took my family to Ruby Tuesday in Vidalia and was treated very poorly once inside. We sat at our table 20 minutes with no drinks and no attention from wait staff. A group of people who were seated after my family was served very promptly with both drinks and a food order. I brought this to the attention of both the hostess and the manager on duty, A.M., but nothing was done. We sat there another 5-10 minutes with no drinks and no attention from wait staff. We eventually left. When exiting, the sarcastic hostess stated, "y'all have a good evening", with a grin. I have waited for a month to put this out here. My husband & I celebrated our "50th" anniversary March 16th. We decided to come here & get a steak dinner. We did & spent approximately $55. We also paid an "extra" $3. (I think) for the salad bar. The tomatoes were almost like 'ROCKS!". The steak was soooo tough we had to leave most of it on our plates.
