Fast friendly service - great salad bar-server was very accommodating as we had some dietary restrictions

We lost our Ruby Tuesday's in Westbrook a few years ago. Probably due to the Covid-interruption and salad bar rules... We were jazzed to find this one. Our burgers were good especially for the affordable prices. The hush puppies were just generic. The salad bar is simple and straight forward but the PUMPERNICKEL CROUTONS are . Service was very good but some of the booths are a little dated and run down. I definitely recommend getting a meal and adding on the unlimited salad bar for great value. read more

Went to Ruby Tuesdays 11/9/25 in Waterville Maine. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Now as someone who's lived down south and has had homemade chicken and waffles, and chicken and waffles from Waffle House I was expecting the real thing. And to be completely honest I was absolutely disgusted with what was presented to me. Microwaved chicken tenders that was over cooked. And Pre packaged store bought Belgian sugar waffles that was rock hard and cold. The waffles was inedible the chicken tenders over cooked and the cider sauce on the side almost made me puke it was so bad! As someone who's worked for mutable 4.8/5 star restaurants this is absolutely disgusting and why I don't eat at chain restaurants. Food's disgusting, environment was was quite but the booths and decor are outdated, staff are "barley friendly" can tell they just want to go home and not deal with being there. My roommate ordered the fried cat fish. It wasn't properly cooked had zero taste. And finally we both ordered drinks I got a top shelf margarita and they got a ruby refresher My margarita mango. There was absolutely zero alcohol in the first drink I was served and when I asked/told the waitress that you couldn't taste any alcohol she asked kinda rudely if I wanted a second tequila shot. I said yes. Upon getting my second margarita you could taste the alcohol and it was actually good. Over all disappointed at my experience. When you order steak and scallops the scallops should not be some kind of fish cut into a scallop shape. Not only do I know what a scallop, even an over cooked rubbery one, tastes like but when I cut it in half I know what a scallop looks like. Those are not scallops and you should not be advertising them as such. You didn't fool me and I will not be eating at your establishment again. A follow up. I did contact Ruby Tuesday Management as they asked and never heard from them again. So obviously that was just added to the review to make it look like they care but they don't. Never received any satisfaction, compensation, or at the very least an admission of wrong doing and an apology. I served scallops this Labor Day Weekend to my guests. My appetizer, Hickory Bourbon Boneless Wings were tasty but, when you see the price point $14 (13.99) for only five (insane) they become overpriced, breaded chicken nuggets. The Cheese Sticks were tasty as well and were part of a 2 for $26 meal deal. Not overly breaded and what was on them did have a good flavor. My main dish, Fish& Chips, was disappointing. Not much more than oddly shaped fish sticks. Zero flavor. The tartar sauce mix haloed that but most certainly not worth the $14 (13.99). However, our waitress was wonderful. Lots of healthy options. My Deconstructed Chicken Kabob was cooked to perfection. Husband ordered the Fried Pickle Smash Burger, which I wanted a bite of. The burgers were crispy around the edges and the fried pickles gave it a nice zing, really good on the brioche roll. Our waitress was personably and attentive. She almost had me overlooking the taped vinyl bench seat repair which had long since failed, the worn carpet and dusty lamp shades above us. Service, food and value was 5 Star. Very disappointing visit at the Waterville location today. The service was slow. The ordered weren't exactly correct. They didn't put mushrooms, onions, and peppers on a steak sandwich. This is the first visit to this location. First off, no Pepsi so that was a strike against them. I had to get a coke instead which was watered down and mostly ice. For $3. My wife had the crispy chicken Mac and cheese for $15. The portion was equivalent to a TV dinner. It was good but not $15 good. I had the hickory bourbon bacon burger and cold fries. Tasty but so is a Big Mac which would be more filling. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. The music was quite loud but maybe that's just due to my age. Overall, not overwhelmed, don't think I'll mark this down on my list of must go places anytime soon. read more

I normally don't ever give out one star reviews but this is one of those very rare situations that I can say was just a bad experience overall. I was with a couple of work team members and we need to stop to grab a bite on the way through from Bangor and we're looking forward to a nice hearty salad to curb the appetite. First this when we were sat at the table the waitress seemed to really not want us to sit in her section because she gave a huff and a puff and strolled right by our table. It then took about 10 minutes or so for her to even come by to ask for drinks or service. When she decided to come back and check on the table, she started with "Hey I'm .... I'll be your server .. What do you want to drink?" I was looking to see if there was any urgency or some sort of apology for it taking forever but nope ... Anyway maybe she was busy right? She the took about another 10 minutes to come back with our waters. We the knew we were going to have to order our food fast because she might not be back anytime soon. We the received our food ... She then told me the following story about my grilled chicken salad ... Soooooooo, you only have a quarter of your chicken because when the cooks tried to throw the chicken on the salad they dropped it on the floor, they are making you another piece of chicken. I don't know if I really needed to know that but with the way the service had been, the hospitality had been it just topped it off ... She then disappeared for a while until we had to flag her down for the check ... We were in our business attire so you would normally think she would know we needed to hit the road anyway. Ok ok I feel bad that I am saying nothing good about this experience but it really is what it is ... So I would avoid it and pop downtown in Waterville for some real food and friendly service. read more

Well that's a bummer. We used to enjoy RT's but it seems like the whole thing has been going downhill for the last few years. Well tonight (Valentine's Day) we were looking forward to their food. I called to place an order at 4:45pm, which seemed a safe bet as it wasn't the busiest part of the dinner hour. I was put on hold for over 6 minutes. I finally hung up (assuming I'd been forgotten) and called again. When I was told I'd be put on hold I let them know I'd just been on hold for over 6 minutes, and asked if it was very busy as I didn't want to wait that long again. They said they thought it was probably pretty busy "over there" and they would try to get me connected faster (no apology). When they went to transfer my call they hung up on me. Well lately the service has been terrible, the wait staff never heard of any specials that you get in your emails or advertised on facebook, and you don't get the deals you were hoping for. Haven't been there in a couple years because last time I paid a lot for what I thought was an overpriced burger. Times have changed in there for the better! I came here with my girlfriend and 6 month old daughter. We sat for 20 minutes waiting to have our order taken. We then waited an additional 10-20 minutes for our appetizers to come out and they were cold! Some of them were missing too!! The waitress seem intoxicated. Worst waitress ever.... saw her 3 times. Once after we sat down, 2nd time to bring out our dinner 3rd time to collect money. She only had maybe 3-4 tables. We typically eat at local restaurants but we felt like the Ruby Tuesday's garden bar. What a mistake that was.... She never asked how our food was. When asking for refills, she never brought them. The hostess was the best person working in that place and we felt like she did more. She was the one to finally bring our refills. Don't get me started on the food. We ordered the pick 3 where you get an appetizer, entree and dessert cause it seemed like a good deal. The shrimp and zucchini was clearly set then forgot as one side was charred and the other side not. The steak had no seasoning, I had to season it with table salt and pepper and that didn't do anything for the taste. Mozzarella sticks came with 4 but only enough marinara sauce for 1 and half and we couldn't ask for more because the waitress never came back until our entrees came out. We probably had a few bites before we decided that we just wanted to leave. We skipped on the dessert that it came with cause we were that unsatisfied with the food and most of all our waitress. I come from a hospitality background and my parents own restaurants of their own and an Inn, so I am a firm believer in tipping and tipping well, but I would have to say this is the first time that I have ever tipped under 20%; most people would have not tipped at all. If I could redo how I tipped, I would have just given it to the hostess. If we go back we will be sitting at the bar where we know we will get our drinks refilled and only get the garden bar. read more

Went to the Waterville location last night. I got the salmon and surprisingly, there was a bone in every bite I took. It was very annoying, not to mention dangerous since it was supposed to be a filet. I told the waitress who was apologetic and said she would get me a new one. That was very nice, I didn't think twice about it. Then, the manager comes to the table acting extremely confused, asking if there was a problem with the salmon. I explained the bone situation to him and he goes on to question me acting so surprised and said he has NEVER had that happen and he doesn't know how that could happen because he has the salmon cut and brought in from a vendor and he just can't understand how that could be. He goes on to say, I'll make you another one but I just want you to know that there is a 99.9% chance that there will be bones in it also. It was very offensive the way he was acting like I was lying. We asked to just put it in a to go box (we were there long enough already.) I gathered the bones from my plate and showed the waitress when she came back and she laughed and said oh my gosh, they were in there, I'm going to go show him. She left with the bones laughing to go show him. I don't usually write reviews but I don't lie and I didn't appreciate being talked to like I was making the whole thing up. I thought he was coming over to apologize for the problem, instead he was there to imply that I was lying. He wasn't apologetic at all. I preface this with the acknowledgement that I generally dislike restaurant chains... But calling this the Walmart of restaurants would be an insult to Walmart. Something as simple as a burger is so shoddy to the point a bigmac seems gourmet by comparison. At least the servers are nice, about all it has going for it if your meal happens to come out edible. Rhonda, I think that was the waitress, was very nice. She was very nice when I told her the the chicken taco lunch item with two tacos had one taco with a single slice of chicken and the second taco with a smaller slice of chicken and a barely perceptible escort piece of chicken. The "death by onions" tacos poured out of the shell. CRAP. The queso had so much disgusting spinach and it was sweet. I want salty queso not sweet. Tasted bad. All this place has going for it is Rhonda and the tossing salad bar. But that's not enough for a restaurant that shoved a $48 bill up our you know what with $2.50 soft drinks. Screw this dump. Oh, and I never slam a place without mentioning the shortfall and this is what Rhonda said... "The cook admitted the chicken tacos have small amounts of chicken on them, and these had even less, so I should be prepared to tell customers the onion tacos are called 'chicken tacos'.", to paraphrase. So based on this piss on their crap onion tacos, sweet cheese dip and overpriced crap. The staff here is fantastic. Sarah was our server and she was ultra attentive, friendly and constantly on top our endless refills. Christian the manager also stopped by and was so incredibly kind.
